I remembered a few years ago when Elon guaranteed trade in values for Tesla.

Yeah now I would loose a boatload of money if I traded out of my car or closed my position.

Tesla car owners are in many cases Tesla retail investors, we are getting screwed both ways.

The very least Tesla should do is provide a huge incentive for existing plaid owners to buy new Plaids. This will boost sales and show good will.

Definitely the middle to finger to Guinea pigs like me who waited, paid $23k more without FSD, and dealing with the tire issues Tesla and Michelin are completely aware of. I would love to trade out of my plaid and get a new one but now I am screwed on my trade in value as well.

You have to call Michelin and get a claim number, then you have to get an authorized Michelin dealer to inspect the tire.

In this day and age I am sure making a tire that is safe and last twice as long is possible, but how would the tire companies make money? A customer who purchases these performance cars can afford the tires, so why not make them a repeat customer as often as possible.

Your lucky Michelin is helping you. I was told that the Tesla dealer is not an authorized dealer and there was nothing Michelin would do.

This is straight up dangerous. The wear on a part of the tire you have to go underneath the car to see. It is not on the tread bar. Thousands of people buy these cars that would have no idea to check something like this on a car when everything else on the tire seems fine.

I read somewhere our foam filled pilot sport’s weigh loss than the non foam filled ones. I would rather not have the foam or the Bluetooth chip, than these weak sidewalls.

I am curious to see how they fix it. I had an appointment to drop of my car, but last minute I decided not to to drop it off because it could take 2-5 days.

The Tesla plaid Facebook group has a lot of people complaining about these same issues with the tires as well.

The 21” tires for the plaid. They also scratched the wrap and possibly the hood on my car. They still have it so they can repair my wrap. They also put 47 miles on the car which I am not happy about.

My dealer just replaced my rear tires and scratched the wrap and possibly scratched the hood underneath the wrap. While they are replacing the wrap I noticed they also put 47 miles on the car. Is this acceptable?

My local SC has the tires in stock now.

Good Luck with the warranty. It looks like Tesla is only company worth the tires and they don’t and won’t help with a warranty claim and if you take the tires home, no authorized Michelin dealer will help you with a claim because you are not buying tires from them.

The very least Tesla should do is help with warranty issues on the tires if you buy tires from them, but they don’t, and if you want to take the tires home you can’t send them back to Michelin to do a warranty and no other dealer will help you unless you buy tires from them.

Tire rack won’t even take order for our tires anymore.

Michelin charges more for these acoustic tires and adds some foam and skimps on the rubber. Amazing.

Tire rack and discount tire don’t have the rear tires for the plaid. They are actually the same company now, but still have their own inventory.

I have a hard time believing these tires would last their 300 tire rating even if our tires were not staggered.

I contacted Michelin. They have no idea when they will be making the 295 30 21 tire that came with our cars, and in their system this is not even the original tire that comes with that car.

Michelin knows the vehicles these tires are going on including the weight and the horsepower. I would rather have thicker rubber on the inside of my tire instead of the foam or Bluetooth chip.

I am guessing this is more for the Michelin track connect stuff than for our Teslas.
