Thinking about the longevity of the car, MCU2 definitely takes the cake. I haven't thought about them stopping producing MCU2s. My appointment got pushed back as soon as I added the MCU2 upgrade due to parts on backorder with no ETA :( but people here have slowly been getting their upgrades...

In the high 70's but the cabin gets quite hot, I'd guess 90+ after sitting for a bit. That's interesting in the desert nothing has ever happened. I've never had any hiccups or reboots on my MCU1, only the IC. The kW usage graph does lose all of its data occasionally... I'd assume that's a sign...

I have had an issue with my instrument cluster that on hotter days (75F+) and/or under direct sunlight the IC would often be dead or die in front of my eyes. Similar to this fellow. On entering my car, the MCU would display immediately but the IC would be off and remain off until manually...

I'm having issues with my instrument cluster dying at 'hot' temps (75F+) when entering the car or even when driving. The only method of resurrection is by steering wheel resets, sometimes it even happens again afterward. Has anyone had this issue? I'm afraid just DIY replacing the IC screen...

Hey @BrettS, thanks for your updates throughout your whole process, really insightful. I thought this'd be a more prevalent issue with pre-facelift MS's but this is the only thread replicating my exact issue. Hot days seemed to trigger my IC dying as yours did. Some days the IC would slowly fade...
