    Auto Wipers

We have an M3P and an MYP and before the 2024.x release, we couldn’t use auto wipers - just worthless. However, since updated to the 2024.x release (with 12.3.1 FSD), we’re now both happy with the auto wiper function. We’ve had a lot of rainy days the past couple of weeks and, so far, so good… 🤞🏼

FSD beta v12.3 pulls the ultimate April Fools joke

I posted a similar thread from my experience last night. FSD curbed both passenger side rims and it wasn’t a matter of not being vigilant. The car was in FSD, driving great, there’s a turn near our house and the car, previously, never had a problem making it around. This time, it was going...

Curbed the holy EFF out our MYP Ubertine wheels using FSD 12.3.3!

Be CAREFUL with 12.3.3! It lulls you into a sense of confidence and then completely shits the bed. My wife and I were coming home from dinner, using FSD (v12.3.3), and while taking a turn, it ran into a raised curb and trashed both of the passenger side wheels on our MYP. WTAF! I’m actually...

This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

Ugh! Here I was praising v12 and guess what? My wife’s MYP was driving us home and curbed the holy crap out of two of our wheels! WTAF Tesla!!!

This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

HA! Yes, MB has all of those things and it will drive you off of a highway bridge if the car in front of it does that too. Also, who drives 40 MPH on an highway? Looking at a few articles, it looks like MB Level 3 is certified in only parts of California and Nevada. Tesla’s FSD can drive...

This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

Hi @bobbyjae, Mercedes’ level 3 is not only limited to 40 mph - on freeways only - but it can’t make fast, sweeping turns on the highway unless there’s a car in front of it so it can follow. Level 3? Sure… I’d argue Tesla Autopilot is already level 3 in capabilities (with the caveat of...

This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

Thanks @Ostrichsak for your feedback. It seems sincere and well-thought out and I’m sorry you’re getting some backlash. My perspective has changed over time about FSD. My wife and I both have Teslas, an MYP and an M3P, and we both have FSD on the current version as of yesterday (12.3.3). For...

@dvssolid, please update if/when you receive your wheels. I’m really tempted to get their Zero G-styled wheels…

    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

I’ve had several drives (~10 trips) using FSD in the city - lots of construction, workers holding stop signs, people/pets, delivery vans, crazy lane shifts (from the construction), road humps. Most of the drives have been short (around 20 minutes) but a few have been in the 45 minute range and...

    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

Hi @RobK, my M3P received 12.3 yesterday. I have a test drive loop I take that repeatedly made my cars disengage with multiple merges, corners, and whacky, hilly back roads that would crumple the V11s FSD. My wife and I took my M3P out on the test loop today and… absolutely perfect (although the...

    FSD Beta 12.3 GA

@RobK, my wife’s MYP was updated last week but my M3P is still on 11.4.9 so you’re not the only one.

The Cybertruck's fatal flaw that they don't want you to know:

Yes, JPinaJeep is a troll. No doubt. That said, unlike Jeep, Tesla will take the feedback, validate it, and if needed improve the CT. Jeep has had - what? - ~60 years to get it right and they still make the Patriot.

Can’t get software update since 2022

Edbert, if you put the car into service mode from the screen, you’ll see if the car is displaying any errors. My guess is that your ECU is broken. If the error messages say that there’s an ECU error, your ECU is probably broken and Tesla needs to replace it.

MagBak RimCase quick review - 21” Ubertine

I recently received the MagBak RimCase rim protectors and, frankly, the install is not as easy as the YT reviewers claim, the tolerances for the plastics are too wide for the width of the spokes while being too tight to easily, yet tightly, cover from the spokes to the rim. I have a MYP on 21”...

    SF Bay Accident Surveillance Footage

Caveat emptor. It’s in the language you agree to when you purchase the package. So, not a fraud. Racket? Maybe. Also, when you sell the car, you can charge the new owner for the cost of FSD.

Changing Rear view mirror to a screen - Anyone do this upgrade?

Funny. Just saw this thread. Today I installed the Hansshow rear-view mirror/camera and… it’s fantastic! Bright screen, great display and view angle. The instructions they provide on YT are awful, though. It took me ~5 hours to install it. We have a Chevy Bolt, as well, and the mirror/camera is...

    Hansshow HUD/Carplay/Android Auto solution

Interesting. We’re running 10.69.2.3 FSD in our Intel Atom ’21 MYP and we haven’t had any challenges with our Hansshow 9” binnacle.

    Hansshow HUD/Carplay/Android Auto solution

I have the newer 9” version. It’s great for CarPlay (I can’t comment on Android Auto) and the instrumentation (speed, gear, regen, etc.) work well. That said, the HUD routes calls and messages through its crappy internal speaker which then puts the music through the internal speakers, all of...

Deciding on second EV, a non-Tesla

Other than our MYP, we‘re leasing a Chevy Bolt and it’s a fantastic car. We’ll probably buy it after the lease is up. We took the Bolt from Austin to Scottsdale (our second house), then to Colorado and back to Austin. We used ElectrifyAmerica and ChargePoint and didn’t have any issues with any...

Advice please - Alloy Wheel Protectors..

I’ve found that they do protect the wheel (although it is primarily cosmetically covering the rash). I haven’t experienced any further damage on the wheel when they are on and torn loose. It is a PITA, though, to have to replace one.

    Hansshow 9” screen update file

Frankly, the ”workaround” in order to use the Hansshow displays is a major problem with the software and while I do like product, I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy one until Hansshow fixes the problem.

Advice please - Alloy Wheel Protectors..

Yes, we have them installed on our MYP. They do help but we‘ve found that we need to replace one (or more) every quarter or so

    Model Y Performance vs. GV60...Drag!

I’m pretty sure they sell every EV6 and Ioniq 5 they make. We were looking at getting either (but preferred the EV6) and while the dealers all advertised that they had them on the lots, none of them actually did (the cars were “in-transit”) and there was at least $10k “market value” added to the...

Model Y and MyQ garage door opener

We recently had the Homelink device from Tesla installed and… we LOVE it! The proximity activation is great both when you arrive and leave, I really appreciate that you can have the mirrors fold automatically, too (we have a fairly narrow garage), and we have two homes and it works for both...

    Model Y Performance vs. GV60...Drag!

Eh… whatever the SOC for the MYP, it’s a close race with the GV60, and like all good drag races, it will come down to the driver, not the car. And competition is good for everybody! I doubt that Tesla cares too much about the state of MYP #s versus the competition, especially right now when...

Regrets [Anyone regret trading in their ICE for their Tesla?]

To the OP, I can’t remember how many ICE cars I’ve had but they include several BMWs (a Bangle 6, a 2002 M3 and three other 3s) and I‘ve had five EVs (a Leaf, a Soul EV, two Chevy Bolts and a MYP), as well as two Miatas (still have the 2016), a 2004 and 2006 GTO, among many, many more over the...

    Why I cancelled my order

We bought a used ’21 MYP (~9500 miles on the odometer) and, of course, I was aware of and looked critically at the outside panel gaps and I was actually impressed by the the build quality of the car. That said, if I had spent $75k for a brand-new car and it arrived with the same issues as the OP...

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

Yeah, no doubt. But does it actually move the needle for people to buy the car? 🤔 I like what @Yelobird mentioned above. To that, I’d add the expense of developing it (software probably wouldn’t be bad considering M3 has it) and the cost (probably a lot) of testing it. Because Musk said it will...

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

Just curious. How many MYP owners actually want to track their MYPs? I mean, you could track your MYP, or any reasonably safe car, on any given Saturday (also depends on what you mean by "tracking"). You don't need track mode to do it. I used to track my cars (by track, I mean an actual race...

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

Right!? I seriously considered, and probably would've bought, the EV6 (not GT) before buying the MYP. Why didn't I? I couldn't get one. There were none available. The stealerships were advertising them but all the models were "In Transit". And there was, at least, a $10k markup on them by the...

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

I'm sure you started out without any posts when you came to this board, too. 🤔 Clearly, your 43 posts since April dictates that your "voice" has more weight than mine. 🤪 As far as the 4680 cells, it's a bit early to tell. Tesla is innovating, regardless of what you believe. The EV6 will be the...

Good. Someone else can appreciate the MYP. You clearly don’t.
  38. J

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

The GT button alone does not activate drift mode. As there is no third-party, real world data on its performance, we don’t know if the EV6 GT is just another Mach E GT (boost early, lag late).
  39. J

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

How have they turned a “blind eye” to meaningful improvements? The MY and M3 giga-castings are changing the industry. 4680 cells are structural (I’d argue a meaningful improvement). FSD, for all its faults, is better than anything their competitors have (possible exception, Mercedes, at least on...

EV6 GT gets track mode out of the box and yet the Y still doesn't....

Performance is comparable (and not even instrument tested in the C&D article). I like the EV6 and we looked at buying one. The problem is actually getting one (they all seem to be on boats on their way to stealerships) that hasn’t already been pre-sold and usually at >$10k markup over MSRP.
