    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Columbia is WAY out of the way if the concert is in the Upstate.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

The Hotel or Cracker Barrel are the only two great options. It's sidewalked and about ~5min walk to the shops area but yeah kind of far back. This is one of my least favorite SC locations, wish it was closer to anything else besides the hotel. The hotel is nice BTW.

    100,000+ Mile Club

Is the buzzing present when accelerating or even at idle? I had it sounding exactly as you described but only when power was to the drive unit (accelerating) and it ended up being replaced under warranty. So quiet now!

How is the Model S as a family car?

Just to chime in we have 3 kids, aged 7,4,1 and we use the Tesla over the Suburban almost every trip. There's a bit less room to move around of course, but it feels safer in almost all dimensions (kids buckled in, no chance of roaming around in the back) and the superior driving dynamic. The...

Great location, should be well lit and easy to get to the main area. Way worse that the first spot, but not terrible.

The Southern Supercharger "Arc of Doom"

Well it looks like Asheville has been permitted, and being right at the I-26 / Parkway interchange area, it's a great location! Also those Outlets are really nice. We used their charger last time we were in the area. Here's hoping more of the Arc gets filled in - Greenville, Columbia would be...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Given this site has been stalled for 18 months, it's a sad testimony to Tesla's Supercharger network in the South East. I wouldn't hold by breath any longer, they clearly don't care too much. Here's a good thread on the bigger picture: Arc of Doom

    Supercharger - Columbia, SC

This location is definitely needed for those of us heading North up to the Upstate. Right now what I do is range charge at Savannah and then take back roads to Greenville. Santee is just too far out of the way if you are using 26, plus it's too close to Savannah IMHO. The Columbia and...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

It's interesting that the map at Supercharger | Tesla Motors shows Columbia or thereabouts as coming soon but nothing for Greenville.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

I was up there Sunday and it's all sitting there just like it has been for five months.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

This seems like a lot of drama for fast-charging cars in what is practically a back ally of a shopping center.

Interested in 3rd row seat ventilation?

Now that it's the hottest part of summer, just wondering if you had any luck? Our third row is now unusable without some modifications.

Experience with Photosync tint on your Model S windshield

Got PhotoSync installed on our S and could not be happier. I'm a details guy and yes there is some hint of tint on the front but the temp makes it well worth it. The black dash, even in SoFla heat, is touchable when car has been sitting. Our other vehicles will fry an egg. One of the guys at...

Charging randomly stops - 236v the culprit?

Wow, thanks for all of the information guys. Tesla SC called this morning and said the logs are indicating it may be an issue with the charger. Last night I dropped amps to 24/30 (should be 40/40 if all is perfect on a 14-50) and it worked all night. Since we are about 650 miles from home...

Charging randomly stops - 236v the culprit?

Just drove 1,000 miles on SCs and municipal chargers with no issues, also have a NEMA 14-50 charger @ home that worked great the first 3 times I've used it. Now I'm at my parents' house where I had a 14-50 installed at the outside panel. When I plug in it starts charging and in fact got about...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

That "auxiliary issues" thing is weird. This site has had lots of coming and goings of businesses and probably investors/owners I wonder if that's related. It's right at a Superfund site (and abandoned factory). Totally just guessing out of thin air, but "auxiliary issues" could mean lots of...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

It is not a SC but I just put an external NEMA 14-50 at my house in Greenville ~2mi from the SC. If anyone needs a charge feel free to stop by, PM for details. In a neighborhood not close to many amenities but 1/4mi off 385. Adding to plugshare next week.

Great Road Trip - Key Observations

Awesome post. Thanks for the insight. We take delivery on Tuesday and start an East Coast road trip (start: Miami | destination: unknown) and a lot of this was good to know. We've done plenty of East Coast roadtrips in our Suburban, but with two kids, we decided we can do it in the Tesla...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Just went out and took a photo, it's identical to the others above. No progress. However, this is an excellent site, and covers all of the major stuff to do shopping and dining wise on this side of town. Across Woodruff Road is a big shopping area to drop off your wife and then there's a...

Taking the ICE for this trip. I'm frankly shocked this has been sitting still for like 6 weeks or so. Anyway, it better be in place for Football season! :)

New Atlanta Store: 1580 Church St.

Atlanta is going to be a huge market for Tesla. Once it's not an "island" and is accessible to the rest of the country on Superchargers, I think we'll see a lot of activity in Atlanta. Heck, lots of people have commutes in Atlanta that jive well with the Tesla - plus there's a huge state subsidy.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

My guess is this is a Duke Power/Local Gov issue and not Tesla. They are probably in a holding pattern and just as frustrated. Tesla have their hardware there, so they just need someone who can crack heads. P.S. Lived in Greenville 'till 30, family still there. Usually a fairly progressive...

Delivery estimate date move up? (Anyone expecting in August - Sept?)

I have a VIN and delivery date of 8/1 but the Dashboard just bumped to late July from August. Confirmed 5/14. I'm wondering if any of it has to do with various country deliveries being shifted. Lots of logistics behind the scene we can only guess at.

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Looking at Superchargers it looks like there are only half a dozen SCs under construction nationwide. I agree with what has been said already, the logistics of this should be able to be better managed. With summer travel season upon us, it seems like this is land locking Atlanta (a market with...

How to charge between Santee, SC and Leicester, NC - 230 miles

The elevation change from Santee to Asheville area is going to mostly preclude doing this nonstop. That blue ridge escarpment will be pretty harsh, plus lots of rolling hills between Columbia and there. I'd expect the Greenville supercharger will be done by then, based on the progress. It's...

Family Road Trip Coast to Coast to Coast...

Just confirmed our P85 (also Blue!) yesterday, for "late July" delivery, and I am planning on doing a mirror image of your trip, FL to West Coast. We have a 5 and 2 year old. I bought the two year old a cheap Android tablet to keep him busy. We should share war stories when it's over.

Ascent of Mt Mitchell and the Magic of Regen

Enjoyed the analysis. We were just up in Asheville (from Fla) in an ICE and I pondered the effect of the mountains. Looks like it (kind of) balances out in hilly driving. Saw two Tesla's in Asheville.
