    Non-staggered for Model X

I’m thinking of trading from a 2022 MYP that I swapped the staggered 21s for 18s squared from TSportLine. Love the change. So if/when I buy an X this is what I’m doing...

New EPA calculated range for 2024. LR is now 335 miles

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have read many times that the "miles" displayed on the battery ICON is simply a math formula - packs voltage multiplied by some "fixed" number the EPA uses? So what will cause the pack voltage to fluctuate, the temperature at the time of measurement, and any real...

    Car died today

My 5-day-old 2022 MPY died in my garage with 500 miles on it. Turns out it was a bad batch of a wiring harness (pins in a cannon plug were damaged). I was told it affected a few hundred cars. Due to a comedy of errors it took 8 days to get it fixed. But they did give me a Model X P90D with...

    $235 for cabin filter replacement?

I ran mine for 2 years here in St Louis (HOT and HUMID summers) only when they started smelling bad did I request a Tech to change them. He came, cleaned/changed them, and when I received the bill/receipt it showed I owned NOTHING. I have always wondered why they did that and I can only...

What Would Compel You To Upgrade to a Future Model X?

Our 2022 MYP will be 2 years old come Aug 25th, 2024. We want an X. But am "HOPING" for the following updates. 1. Real Surround View (being 72 we need all the help we can get in tight parking spaces) 2. LFP batteries 3. V2H charging 4. Rear seat armrest on 5 seater like the S 5. Powered...

Brand new 2024 Model X range after charging

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was told years ago that the mileage displayed by the battery icon is essentially a MATH FORMULA. Tesla takes the pack's VOLTAGE and multiplies it by some FIXED number that was agreed upon with the EPA. That number is FIXED the only thing that changes over time is...

Buying a Tesla Model 3 with 109000 miles on it. Insurance and Warranty after Tesla's is no more?

Unless you can SELF-FUND expensive repairs I'd pass on a pre-owned EV no longer under manufacturer warranty. But that's just how I think. Looking at the Tesla Pre-Owned site, they are selling pre-owned Teslas a greatly reduced prices and all are under warranty. I saw an M3 LR with 19" wheels...

    Front Bumper Camera

What exactly will the Front Camera display IF/WHEN implemented? Just a front view or will it be knitted to the other cameras for a Surround View? Also given Tesla's All-In approach to Tesla Vision you'd think they would add a "few" more cameras to enhance and complete how the car sees and...

Thoughts on Medusa Black wheel covers for Model Y

I have a MYP with TSportLine wheels but when I owned our 2020 LR Y I would have bought these covers in a NY minute. Aside from the looks they are Made In The USA.

Did Tesla reduce the MYP EPA range again

So I assume all these "adjustments" apply to my 2022? My lifetime wh/mi is 276 after 17,xxx miles and that includes 5 long road trips. So 285/279 seems more realistic vs the 303 it started with. I calculate if I did one of those 100-0% highway tests you see on YouTube I'd probably net 240...

    2024 Model Y LR- Range

Two things, the tire/wheel package impacts range, and the MILES number with the battery ICON you see is a math formula that takes the pack's VOLTAGE and multiples it by a fixed value. So it's measuring battery degradation. The energy graph is a better source for real-world range, not the...

Did Tesla reduce the MYP EPA range again

    Supercharger Live Status

Is Tesla now taking into account non-Tesla blocking TWO spaces now that they opened SuperCharging to non-Tesla’s. 2 or 3 non-Tesla’s can make a drastic difference in actual plug availability and it’s going to get worse. Especially here in the mid-west where many stations are 8 stalls.

    Lifetime Average Wh/mi

I agree but when I want this data the formula is simple: divide 1000 by your wh/mi = mi/kWh. My car looks like this my Lifetime (trip B) is 276 wh/mi which equals 3.62 miles per kWh.

    We have officially hit bottom!

I wouldn't be turned off on a pre-owned Tesla except I would NEVER want to own one OUT OF THE B2B WARRANTY. Hence I sell/trade every three years. I get what I want and the person that buys mine gets some warranty piece of mind. When I was a GM owner I bought their GMPP with ZERO DEDUCTABLE...

Wiki Model S EPA range discussion

2021 MYP Uberturbine 21" to 20" Aftermarket Wheels... 30 pound weight savings

I dumped the 21" UT for some 18s from TSportLine. My weight savings was 68 pounds. But the MYP with the 18s is a better all-around DD. Faster, more efficient, rides better, I can rotate the tires and I no longer fear potholes or curbs. Aside from looks I'm trying to find a use case where...

Model Y Performance vs Highland Long Range

Tesla blesses other cars blocking two stalls due to short cord

Given that, Tesla knows which non-Tesla has "plugged in" their software should immediately know which OPEN stall they are blocking and update the station BALLON on the car's display. That way even before a Tesla arrives at the station they have SA on which stalls are USEABLE or UN-USABLE. Oh...

    Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation

Will Tesla remove the "1-foot roll-out" and rate the new 3 (and Y for that matter) the same as the current S/X? The 1-foot roll-out does REDUCE a vehicle's 0 to 60 times. And that means nothing on the street. Not that I'm condoning street racing.
