I know this is an old thread, but I found it at some point. Just drive it out to Twinsburg with the registration and they'll give you the exemption; if they know it's a Tesla they won't even come out to look at it. I had mine in about 30 minutes from walk-in.

Even when it works (as in my case) my DS asked me not to use it because it muddles the delivery process... this is apparently an in-progress delivery method.

I can confirm. My Model S is somewhere in Iowa for the night (DS pinged it for me) and I cannot connect to it. They don't enable the app connection because they're worried about customers doing stuff like honking horns and opening sunroofs; though it would be easy enough to disable control...

Two close sightings in Ohio (near Solon) - Black Model S headed west on US-422 at 18:43 - Blue Model S headed south on OH-91 (Som Center) at 18:46 (tiny image included) Needless to say, with my delivery 19 days and 19 hours away, it was very exciting to see two in such close succesion.
