Tesla app keeps giving “No recent data available” error

I noticed this problem today as well. Looks like it last synced April 8. I can connect to the Tesla Energy Gateway locally, so my guess is Tesla is having server issues.

Bugs with the new 1.9.0 OTA for Powerwall 2

@crazycushu, I changed my reserve level to 75% a few days ago, but the PowerWall is still behaving as if it was at the 70% I had it at prior to the 1.9.0 update -- it doesn't seem to be syncing on the hour.

Bugs with the new 1.9.0 OTA for Powerwall 2

I spoke a little too soon. The PowerWall is now charging and discharging as expected for Self Powered Mode, but it's not respecting a change I made to the reserve power level. Not a huge deal, but seems like 1.9.0 has a few bugs...

PW2 Critical Load Panel Yes or No

I had a third party installer, and they did my whole home with one PowerWall without a critical loads panel. It works fine; I even tested what happens if my Model S starts trying to charge at 9 pm if the grid is down; somehow the PowerWall signals it not to (frequency drop?) and the car won't...

Bugs with the new 1.9.0 OTA for Powerwall 2

I called their customer support this morning, and the person I spoke to said it was likely the known 1.9.0 issue, but they would file a ticket to check (but the techs don't work weekends so wouldn't get to it until Monday or Tuesday). When I checked later this morning, it was working fine...

    Powerwall 2 Firmware: 1.9.0

I got 1.9.0, and my Powerwall 2 will no longer charge. Previously, it was in self powered mode, and would charge to 100% every day from my dollar, then discharge to 70% (my reserve threshold) in the evening. Now, it's been sitting at 70% for about three days, and nothing I do (e.g. change...

Bugs with the new 1.9.0 OTA for Powerwall 2

I have the same issue, and believe it started when I was upgraded to 1.9.0. What's the best way to report to Tesla?

    Powerwall 2: SGIP/Incentives

Is there a conflict between SGIP and the ITC (which perhaps explains why jeep1979's revised SGIP estimate no longer includes the ITC)? SGIP option B requires you to discharge at peak times, whereas ITC requires you to charge from solar generation (which is primarily during peak). It does seem...

    Powerwall 2: Installation

SolarCity sent a guy out to do a site survey, but he couldn't explain how PowerWall 2 AC would work with my existing SMA grid-tie PV inverter in a grid outage -- would the PV inverter continue to function, and charge the PowerWall during the day, or would it shut off? I called Tesla Energy, and...

Tether anchor for rear-facing LATCH child seat in the back seat?

I have a similar Diono car seat, and when we were using it rear-facing, we used the included short webbing loop, looped around the rail the front seat travels on. We were able to position it such that it was secure but didn't interfere with the travel of the front seat. It's a bit difficult to...

    Supercharger - Ukiah, CA (8 V2 stalls)

I heard from Tesla today that the expect it to be turned on this week, though they of course can't guarantee anything. I had contacted them because I was hoping it would be on today for my trip southbound on 101. I ended up making it from Fortuna, CA to the Petaluma Supercharger with 7 miles of...

    Jump seat seat belt failure

I was able to reproduce at least a partial failure of the seat belt adjuster (i.e. got one of the two sides of the retaining wire spring to pop free of the divot on one side of the metal crossbar). To do so, I simulated the tail of the seat belt (the loose end) being trapped under the child's...

    Jump seat seat belt failure

You should contact the NHTSA at 1-888-327-4236 immediately, in addition to [email protected]. A seat belt failure is quite literally deadly serious and needs to be investigated. I do believe your description of the incident, but linear braking (i.e. braking without turning) should put...

    Supercharger - Manteca, CA - Perimeter Drive (LIVE 12 Feb 2015, expanded 12 Dec 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

I'm planning a trip to Yosemite Jan 3, which is cutting it close if they're targeting 12/31 for completion. Does anyone know if Superchargers typically come online for use as soon as construction is completed, or are there delays for approvals or other reasons? Anyone planning to swing by the...

Protecting paint - XPEL, Opticoat vs repainting

I have Pearl White, and put XPEL Ultimate on the full front + the rear bumper. My XPEL installer also applied OptiCoat over the XPEL. I did OptiCoat 2.0 over the rest of the car myself (it was not very hard, since the car was brand new and the only prep needed was a thorough wash and wipe-down...

    Supercharger - Manteca, CA - Perimeter Drive (LIVE 12 Feb 2015, expanded 12 Dec 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

I contacted the City of Manteca. Bad news -- it seems that Manteca approved the application, but Tesla has since withdrawn. Hopefully, Tesla is following up on a nearby alternate location, but Manteca was well-located for routes along I-5 and for to Yosemite (Hwy 120). Good Morning Mr. --...

    Squeaky fan?

I have the squeaking-on-shutdown (and have had it from when I first purchased the vehicle), but otherwise it doesn't bother me (it's not particularly noisy during normal operation). Palo Alto SC told me this was normal, although I'm not convinced. Should I be worried that the fan is going to die...

    Making a UMC extension cord

I'd like to create a UMC extension cord that would connect to the UMC on one end, and the UMC adapters on the other end. The cable would pass the pilot and other signaling necessary for the UMC to deduce the correct charging rate based on the attached adapter. This seems like a safer (although...
