Replacing cabin air filter and cleaning evaporator fins in 2021-2022 MS

I had mine replaced for same price. Seemed fine to me.

    Yoke peeling

Had the wheel for a couple weeks now. Love it. No hate on the yoke but I wouldn't ever go back without variable steering ratio like the CT.

Yolk Steering Peeling Retrofit to Round

Yes, you can get the retrofit instead of the Yoke as a one time replacement. Others on the forum have gotten multiple yokes. It depends on your Service Center.

    Yoke peeling

I’m going to be doing the same thing, appointment for early December. No doubt it’s total user preference and I actually really enjoy the yoke (less arm strain, more visibility, etc). However, these constant delays make me feel like even the next revision will not fix this issue long term...

    Yoke peeling

You'll still be able to replace under warranty. Adding to the info already posted, my appointment for replacement this morning was just canceled because it is not the new revision. November was what was communicated to me as well.

    2023 MS range!!!

I think it shows you in the trip settings in the car but I use Tessie to track drive stats.
  8. L

    2023 MS range!!!

Yeah, I'd like to see those averages once you start doing trips on roads where speed limit is 70mph. I see at most 86-88% efficiency when doing 70+ mph on a 2022 MSLR with 29k miles on it.

    Yoke peeling

I was offered a free round wheel or wait until October for new yoke. I’m waiting.
  10. L

    Yoke peeling

Mine just started peeling, 27k miles. Top right corner. Opened a service call and will see what they say. Hopefully there is a waiting list or something instead of just waiting until October and opening a new ticket.

2021+ Model S Rear License Plate Grommets

Replying to myself in case it helps someone in the future. This post works on the 2022 Model S https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/rear-license-plate-screw-stripped.122019/page-4#post-3342167

    Rear license plate screw stripped?

Just wanted to say thank you for this. These worked in my 2022 Model S and saved my Saturday afternoon. My local ACE Hardware had exactly what is pictured.

2021+ Model S Rear License Plate Grommets

Anyone know where I can purchase the terrible grommets for the rear license plate? I have a couple stuck screws(grommets just spinning) and the usual tricks of pressing/pulling aren't working. I may just schedule mobile service but before that I might try pulling the rear gate panel to get to...

How to improve yoke buttons for $8

I used these and they worked: soft close buttons You also have to make sure, at least in my case, that some of your actual finger contact the button. That is why one user mentioned setting them off center a bit as a quick locator. I've since removed them though and just glance down or feel...

    2022 Model S Long Range - A/C Compressor Failure

Agreed, I won't pretend that I'm saying this correctly but the SC advisor said it looked like the compressor wasn't "isolated" and the car uses the 12v to protect the main battery. By draining the 12v it turned the car off and stopped the issue from pulling power from the main battery.

    2022 Model S Long Range - A/C Compressor Failure

Just posting in case anyone else ends up having the same issue. Car displayed the "Electrical system power reduced" on the dash while the main screen showed low voltage remaining. The percentage then ticked down at about 1% a second until it died and the car completely powered off. Tesla had...

Awesome, glad you had a good service experience. We got our car in September last year and haven't had a reason to go so hopefully that remains the case :)

Running Steam with USB or SSD installed can cause software crash WHILE DRIVING!

Fair enough, I only got the drive to store a few larger games. My use of Steam is almost nonexistent, only charge at home when not on a road trip, and my wife uses the car 4 out of 5 days of the week. So basically it changes nothing for me to unplug the drive while I wait for the OP to show...

Running Steam with USB or SSD installed can cause software crash WHILE DRIVING!

Do you have any correspondence with Tesla that you could share with them indicating it's a known bug/issue? I agree that saying it's this world wide problem is a bit dramatic but I'd be pissed too. We just need to come at this with a bit more data I think. I don't need to play Steam for any...

Running Steam with USB or SSD installed can cause software crash WHILE DRIVING!

Got the drive Jan 21st. 2022 Model S LR Formatted by the car/Steam app where it prompts and says that 64GB or something will be used for dashcam, the rest for Steam.

I have not had the issue but have you tried doing the "reset all Steam data" or something like that option in the Service Menu?

2022 MS cold draft on driver side door, very uncomfortable during Canadian winter

Follow up, those sound dampening pads have nothing to do with airflow. There are no holes between fender and firewall for air to enter car. Guess that can be debunked. While they should not be falling down, they are there for sound dampening, not to block cold air.

2022 MS cold draft on driver side door, very uncomfortable during Canadian winter

Add me to the list. 22 MSLR with a Feb 22 build date. Opened a mobile service request as I also have an icy left leg when it's cold out :) For those wondering, the black bit underneath the wires is supposed to all be tucked up into the top right corner of the photo instead of having a giant...

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

I got the wheels from TSportline and the Tires from TireRack. You can also just get everything from TSportline as well so up to you. Price can vary quite a bit but I think it was like $2500-$3000 for the whole set. I went with same overall diameter so no computer adjustments. Pretty sure the...

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

Mine has been good so far, I did get a set of wheels/tires for winter vs the stock all seasons. Went with Michelin CrossClimate 2's (yes they are all seasons but with a winter bias). I've had Audi's for the last 10 years and would say it's comparable but the car is heavier so that can be...

Replacement wiper blades for '22 MSLR

These aren't the wipers but it's this style of connector. Seemed to match my previous Audi's. I ended up just replacing with stock ones from Tesla's website. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039234WM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Hillbilly fix for rear seat squeaking - Refreshed S

I don’t want to defend Tesla too much because they clearly have more quality issues than other manufacturers. Having had 3 new luxury cars in the last 5 years I would say I’m not impressed with the quality in the $75k+ range. This is how I spent my Christmas break last year on my previous 2019...

Hillbilly fix for rear seat squeaking - Refreshed S

Thanks, going to try this. I only get the squeak over bumps that twist the car, like if you were going to hit a speed bump but not straight on, just askew where one of the front tires would hit first.

Severe traction issues on roads with ice/snow

Haven’t had anything crazy but this is my first winter with a 2022 MSLR with CrossClimate 2’s for winter. Only had snow for those couple days by me.

Picking up 22 long range Sunday!!

@nzvlnr - Congrats, I've had mine for a few months and really enjoy it. I would guess at 70MPH in normal weather the actual range is closer to 300miles or a little above. I just took the advice from all the folks here and trust the Nav/estimates. Winter has reduced the range but I'm still...

"TSportline" Buyer beware! Update: Tire service confirms irregular tire sound. Escalated to Michelin

Did OP end up finding out if it was the tires or the wheels? I just mounted the TSS wheels on my Model S for the first time and have the humming/harmonic sound at 55-60mph. Haven't opened a case with TireRack yes, using Vredestein Wintrac tires which are rated pretty quiet. The noise doesn't...

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

I had a metallic squeaking over bumps. Put a couple drips of wd-40 down the posts of the rear headrest and I haven’t heard it in the last few trips. Hopefully that was all it was. I too am overly sensitive to interior noises but I came from a 2019 Audi RS5 I had ordered new and was extremely...

App stuck showing me an "old" service appointment (a month old) not allowing me to schedule new service

I had the same thing except the appointment was from the previous owner in a different state. I couldn’t cancel or interact with it at all. Just gave me an app error every time. I had to call Tesla and fumble through the menus until I got a person. They also couldn’t cancel it and passed it on...

Buying Model S LR from private seller and driving it across the country

Yep, I did the same but through a non-Tesla dealer that took the 22 MSLR in on trade. Once the owner removes it from their account you will see it display on the dash above the yoke something like "supercharging not available, attach to a payment method". I brought my laptop as it was much...

Question on winter tires / wheels

I ended up getting some wheels from TSportline (19's). I think the model was TSS. Ordered some Veredestein tires from Tire Rack and had them mounted/balanced locally. I'll try the mobile Tesla service for the first time and have them swap the wheels out in a few weeks.
  42. L

Refreshed Model S - rear seat rattle

I do, only over really hard bumps. I thought the felt tape fixed it but now I feel like it's maybe the seat bottom in the rear. Doesn't seem to do it much if someone is sitting in the back so it's been harder to track down.

To Plaid or Not to Plaid?

I had a similar dilemma and opted for a 2022 Model S LR but got it used with 8k miles. The Plaid looks like a blast but to me it was just bragging rights and not worth the extra 20k+. With the Plaid you know you are the fastest car, with the LR you are most likely the fastest :-D

Can’t open charge port with wall charger

I think you are correct. I canceled my service because I can get it to open most of the time with one press on the wand but I have to be at the front left edge and within an inch or so.

Question on winter tires / wheels

Bummer, I would have gone that route. They were out of stock for a few days a couple weeks ago when I looked. Looks like a good option.

Can’t open charge port with wall charger

I have a 2022 Model S and this is also happening to me on my home wall charger but SC's seem to be fine. I scheduled mobile service and referenced this thread, thanks!

Seems reasonable to me. I just ordered wheels from them for my first winter with the Model S. So far so good but haven’t driven on them, just mounted and balanced.

Question on winter tires / wheels

I ended up buying some TSportline wheels as my first winter set for a 2022 Model S. Went with a squared 19” setup. Will have them swapped out in the next month or so.
