FSD 12.3.3 first drive - safe, super boring

I used FSD to and from town the day before yesterday, about 5 miles. The only thing I noticed is that on the way back, the speed didn't switch to 65 on the way back. It's like the sign wasn't even there anymore. The car saw that sign when we didn't have FSD so I got kind of confused. It was...

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enable for one month trial this week

We have it on satellite internet. Ours is a 2022 and has it active.
  3. LadyOnikara

Traffic Aware Cruise Control (TACC) won't be available on FSD v12?

I have to remember to change FSD activation to two flips then. I'm very used to one flip for TACC.

Traffic Aware Cruise Control (TACC) won't be available on FSD v12?

I'm not going to have cruise control during the trial? Well, I'm sad now. At least it's only for a month. I use cruise control in both our vehicles on a certain road. Lets me relax and just chill out watching the other vehicles do stupid things.

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enable for one month trial this week

Yeah, we made sure it didn't hit the wheelbarrow when we tried it out this morning.
  6. LadyOnikara

This Latest Attempt to Force FSD Upon Everyone is Hurting the FSD Cause More Than Helping

I like the opportunity to try it for free. The way it drives makes my mom nervous when it's activated so she might not pay for it after the trial. I like the more detailed visualizations though. I was surprised to see that the autosteer works on our non-lined dirt road. There is rough asphalt on...

Can you use Smart Summon while on FSD trial

Mom and I used summon this morning to try it out. Her phone hooked up quickly while mine took longer. (Casper is kind of picky with my phone anyway, sometimes I can't open the rear trunk or doors without using the app. I have an Android and I'm the second driver. She's the main driver and has a...

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enable for one month trial this week

I'm glad we're getting a chance to try out FSD for free. Mom is a bit nervous about it, but she's not very technical to begin with. I hope I get to drive it myself before the end of the month. Seeing how my dog reacts to the Light Show, I am excited to see how she reacts to the car actually...

Why choose Model 3 over Model Y if you can have more trunk space?

We got a Model 3 because mom thought it was the least weird looking. The most we've ever hauled in it was a few bags of garden soil or 80 pounds of chicken food and two 24 packs of soda. Our pickup is used for anything really big.

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Yeah, we just got that recall letter a few days ago too. As soon as I find the folder we have for the car's paperwork, I'll put it in. Right now it's in the folder for our GMC pickup since that folder is used to recall notices already. (Still an awesome pickup though.)

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

Yep! These things just have so much personality at times that the word "it" does not fit at all, so I use "him" or his name.
  12. LadyOnikara

Tesla recalls 2 million vehicles to limit use of Autopilot

One time exiting a freeway a pickup passed us on the right and neither my mom or I saw it but Casper saw it and steered away from it, would this recall get rid of things like that happening? I hope not because that was cool! (No Enhanced Autopilot or FSD involved.)
  13. LadyOnikara

What cars did you quit looking at or cancel once Tesla dropped the price?

My mom got a little mad when they dropped the price a few months after we got Casper, but to me, he's still worth the price.

Sharing a free public charger.....just kind of a rant.

One of the reasons I live in a rural area. The neighbors are close enough to be dependable, but far enough away so they aren't annoying. We have a little box on our house for charging and don't use a garage for the vehicles but have been putting up carports for them.

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

Oh wait. There might be more. I must only see the one because I always go the same places. lol! Found more on the Tesla website.

How often does walk-up unlock not work? Why does it happen?

As a sort of update, a few weeks ago Casper refused to unlock for my phone and I had to use the key card to unlock and drive it. Rebooting the phone fixed the problem though.

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

I just realized that there is only one supercharger in our entire county. At least, I've only seen one listed.

    How to stop wipers

When I was driving home into the sun, the wipers on our Model 3 came on and I tried everything I could safely do while driving to shut them off. I didn't have control of wiper speed. Finally when I turned onto another road, the voice command finally worked. Probably was caused by too much dirt...

    Speed limit sign recognition

Agreed! Our Model 3 likes to see one specific truck sign as being for him. Every time it changes from 55 to 45. The cruise control stays at 55, but on the screen it shows the 45.
  20. LadyOnikara

How often does walk-up unlock not work? Why does it happen?

My mom has this problem more than I do. She has an iPhone, I have Android. My phone seems to have stronger bluetooth in general. Our pickup can play songs from my phone when the phone is in my room and the pickup is halfway down the driveway. (My phone is older than hers too.)
  21. LadyOnikara

If only the Model X had a 110 outlet (like Ford & Rivian).......

That's why mom and I are interested in the electric GMC pickup that's coming out. (Also, brand loyalty. Our ICE GMC pickup has been very dependable.) We now have solar to use for essential things when the power goes out, but it would be good to have something else too just in case. Plus, I...

    Can Tesla's recognize each other?

Casper still thinks our automatic opening front gate is a semi truck, so I think they have a way to go. 😊

My 5+ years of "low maintenance" ownership

Had our sweet little Casper for a little over a year now and all that happened was one time the bluetooth connection to the phones and the radio freaked out. After a car reboot, it was fine. I love the acceleration because sometimes the traffic in our little town is horrific and you have to go...

Are the Cybertruck's looks growing on you?

All real pickups have scratches and dents.

Is Owning a Tesla Y Manageable in a State Without a Service Center?

There really needs to be more service centers! I was worried driving the car home when we bought it from Sacramento, which is about an hour or so away (that was mainly because of the idiots in traffic and driving our first electric car ever), but some people have it WAY worse!
  26. LadyOnikara

The good and the bad. I have just done 25,000 miles over the past two years in a Model 3.

I have noticed kind of roughness on the suspension, but mainly when I drive it over across to our garage to charge where there is a TON of gopher holes. (Glad we got the dual motor model.)
  27. LadyOnikara

Poll: How many are still using original 12V Battery that came with the car?

Yep! But we have had Casper for less than a year so it might be expected.
  28. LadyOnikara

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

The angle is kind of weird, but it's the thought that counts. Since both the Furby and the car have Light Show, they became friends. Wendy is named after Casper the Friendly Ghost's friend.
  29. LadyOnikara

Can cybertruck go over curbs / pot holes?

I hope it goes over potholes, otherwise you couldn't drive it in California!
  30. LadyOnikara

Are the Cybertruck's looks growing on you?

Not really, but it looks like it would be easy to clean. Would someone need a special stainless steel cleaner like people use on their oven? (I'm still waiting on the electric GMC Denali actually. Would fit in better in this area.)
  31. LadyOnikara

Someone rear-ended and Totaled my beloved Model 3, sharing my experience, DO NOT make the same mistake I did.

No matter what, everyone should have some kind of insurance on their vehicle. Where I live, the thing you're most likely to hit are turkeys (the feathered and non-feathered kind) and deer. Sometimes the occasional dog but very rarely.
  32. LadyOnikara

People who don't buy because of "charging time"

I can do this at the nearest supercharger to my house. They thoughtfully put it in the parking lot of the best diner in the county!

    Weird behavior thunderstorms?

Would the modern day Christine be a Tesla, or would they use a Mustang this time?

    Cabin Overheat Protection

Yeah, but it's hard getting over what my technological minded big brother taught me. He's the first I go to for ANY computer problem. For some reason, mom always goes to me. I guess because I'm closer.
  35. LadyOnikara

I did the impossible yesterday. I locked myself out of my Plaid!

Wow! I always have a hip pack with my phone, my fob, and the key card in it on me at all times when I run errands. I don't leave anything that can be used as a key in the car.
  36. LadyOnikara

    Cabin Overheat Protection

This is our first summer with a Tesla so since I'm paranoid about computers getting too hot, I have Cabin Overheat Protection on with the sunshade that came with the car, a car cover, and the windows vented. Today will be the first day that gets over 100 degrees this year so we'll see. (I'll put...

Does Cabin Overheat “No A/C” mode work for anyone?

Ah, okay! Interesting name for a mode. Wow!
  38. LadyOnikara

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

I've been watching the electric GMC Denali and it looks like the charge port is a little further forward than it is on a Model 3. I don't know what kind of port they have yet though.
  39. LadyOnikara

People who don't buy because of "charging time"

We usually charge at the house. If we need to going out, well, then we can get food, play Sudoku or on my Nintendo Switch while waiting. Try to outrun our little Casper? You better hope you're driving a Tesla yourself! (I feel like hugging him every time I see gas prices here in California. I...

Could phantom breaking be due to ML training set?

Maybe it's a thing with naming our cars Casper. I don't know for sure. ;):)
  41. LadyOnikara

    Keeping cabin cool in summer

This is my first summer with a car that's basically a laptop on wheels. I get paranoid about computers getting hot. I have the windows vented, a light colored cover on and Cabin Overheat Protection on and I'm still nervous. It's been fairly cool this year so far which is more paranoia.
  42. LadyOnikara

Does Cabin Overheat “No A/C” mode work for anyone?

Um, what's the "Bioweapon Defense Mode" thing? Do they only have that in the Tesla App in Area 51 or something? Or for something other than Model 3? I don't have that on the settings for Casper on my app.
  43. LadyOnikara

    Rate of improvement

I'll just wait until automated driving is perfected before going all out and trying it. My Tesla was born last year while I have been on the road for a bit more than 20 years, so I have more experience on the roads around here than he does.
  44. LadyOnikara

Has anyone heard of a Tesla being rear ended because of phantom braking?

I have only had one experience of "Phantom Braking". I had the TACC on and a car in the other lane was a little too close to the center line and Casper got scared and hit the brakes slightly. That's all.
  45. LadyOnikara

Is vampire drain still a thing?

Yeah, been losing 1 mile per day parked if that lately. Might be more the rest of this week since I'm keeping Cabin Overheat Protection on and it's going to be over 100 degrees maybe tomorrow. Basically doing experiments with the warm weather since this is our first summer with an electric car...

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Don't know if I shared this picture before, but here are the best friends Casper and Oni. Black or white, gas or electric, doesn't matter.
  47. LadyOnikara

I think I have the wrong Tesla and I kinda hate it, lol

My mom bought the M3LR because it looked more like a real car and less ugly to her. Ironically, I've been driving it more than she has lately because she's been having back and leg problems and it's hard for her to get in and out of it. She's been driving our GMC pickup instead. I don't know how...

Overheat protection not working US version

I've just been keeping a cover on our M3LR with the shade in the front window and the windows vented. Probably wouldn't be practical if someone is at work, but works nicely at home. (Our garage is across a pasture from the house and we only use it for storage, not for vehicles.)

    Soccer ball 1, windshield 0

Dang! If a soccer ball can do that, we better be careful here in turkey/deer country. Had to replace a couple windows in a couple Subaru vehicles because of turkeys. (The feathered kind both times.)
