    Car seat cleaning

I second this. Doesn't leave any residue like a leather cleaner can, doesn't change the finish.

Australian Model 3 Highland experiences, tips, tricks

I still do this 12 months on 😁. An extra 20-30 mins in the car just cruising around is great fun!

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I've always found the wipers to be either hyper or very lackadaisical. I use Rain X as I can see better when they're not wiping fast enough, that and I've always used it.

    Car Insurance Options

I'm with Allianz and my insurance is up for renewal at the start of January. The monthly fee went from $135 up to $249. Overall cost has doubled. I did have a claim where garage shelving fell on my car so that has affected it. I spoke to Allianz and a couple of other providers, and they all...

2 x EV and no offstreet parking - about to find out how it’s done 😄

Good to see a charger in that centre and in a great spot too right at the entrance. I would've thought they'd put it on the roof with the solar panel canopies, but still.

Weird prediction from Bathurst to Auburn

Unfortunately I don't, it was months ago I last did it and have done a fair few trips since then.

Weird prediction from Bathurst to Auburn

I've usually topped off at the Bathurst SC so everything is pre-heated

Weird prediction from Bathurst to Auburn

Yeah I usually find that too, that's a great stretch to drive

Weird prediction from Bathurst to Auburn

I've done the Bathurst to Sydney trip a few times and you can get from Bathurst to Penrith using less than 5% total because it's all downhill from Mount Victoria. 0% usage does seem off though, but it may not be a whole lot off.

    2021 M3P - Is it totalled?

To add to this, if the insurance company has a lot of repairs waiting on the books it might work out cheaper to write it off than repair it. This almost happened to mine and I only had multiple minor panel damage. That way they can get the other repairs done. Hopefully it works out for you.

Australian Tesla Ceramic Coating, PPF, Tinting and other Accessories

Tint Haus said that a lot of places won't touch the rear windows for various reasons. You'll have to look around for a place that will do it for you or split out the tinting for another time

Australian Tesla Ceramic Coating, PPF, Tinting and other Accessories

These guys are a little bit closer, Five Dock. https://ceramicprosydney.com.au/ I used these guys on my previous car, very happy with the results and lifetime of the coating.

Australian Tesla Ceramic Coating, PPF, Tinting and other Accessories

Adding to this, ceramic coating also minimises what gets embedded in the paint as it's a hard layer of protection on top of the clear. In most cases, a wash and wax is fine but when it comes to decontamination, you are clay barring and cutting the clear. The key word is cut, which is cutting...

Australian Tesla Ceramic Coating, PPF, Tinting and other Accessories

Yes, first hand experience. Had my car done there in March and I can't fault anything they did. Whatever the brand is, the car is super easy to wash and dries spotless, but that could be my techniques more than anything. I'm actually rebooking in with them as I had a heap of panels repaired and...

Help and advice on Tesla 3 hit in the bumper and sensor pushed in:

Here's the list of Tesla certified repairers. https://www.tesla.com/en_au/support/collision-support Go through this and speak to GIO and see who they have on their books as repairers. I say this because if they are a GIO approved repairer, if there's any issues with the quality of the repairs...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

2023.12.5 installed last night for me so I'm interested to see the changes. If they have rolled that back, its for the better. I found that the speed limit detection was worse overall, It would detect the freeway exit ramp speed signs, school zones at the wrong times, and in general was worse...

Speed Assist still not working on 2023.12.1.1

I've noticed a few changes since I installed the update last Friday, for the better and the worse Better: It now picks up the flashing overhead speed signs on the freeways in Sydney (e.g., M4). Worse: It still doesn't pick up non-flashing overhead signs. Picking up the flashing ones is an...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Agree here, there's so many subjective aspects to this that we're not privvy to. The best thing you can do is use I-Select, Compare the Market or a similar site and do their base comparisons. From there, go through the individual sites (AAMI, Allianz, Bingle, etc.) and do a quote.

    Tinting of Model 3

There's no tinting on any of the glass (sides and rear)
  22. danesuper6

    Tinting of Model 3

I got the sides tinted at 35% for a uniform look and the rear tinted at 20%. The rear is tinted with a reflective tint (from memory) instead of an absorbent one which will stop it cracking. It made a massive difference to the temps of the interior almost instantly. I got it done at Tint Haus...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

So it looks like I'm heading back into the queue for a new car. Last Friday, the shelves in my garage fell on my car (7 weeks old) and damaged the whole right side, top to bottom. It's off with the assessors at the moment. The insurance company (Allianz) advised they are getting salvaging prices...

They're doing a lot of detailing on them, so be wary of polish residue and dust and general cleanliness. The bottom of my car was quite dirty, like they didnt't clean all the way down.

Nope, makes no difference. If you've got the invoice way out before you receive it, and you're on finance, pay on the date that is most convenient for your repayment / pay day

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Was the 30 days trial a one-off in that time period or was it software version related? I ask as I'm picking up this Friday and wouldn't mind trying it all out

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Does anyone know how many business days before delivery the cars are registered? I'm picking up Friday and with Thursday a public holiday, I'm interested to see when it will be registered.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I got what I wanted for it, but it was less than the market price. I haven't got the time nor patience to deal with tyre kickers and lowballers 😂

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It did for me. It was sitting with the trade-in team for 2 weeks while they 'caught up' on them. Once it was complete, I had the invoice in a day or two and then a VIN on the account. Text Tesla and ask them for the trade-in status. They're pretty responsive.

Melbourne to Sydney via Destination Charger in a MY RWD

I just had a look at the ABRP graph and it's predicting a 6% drop in SoC from Katoomba to Penrith. It'll be interesting to see the real world usage

You don't need to order a UMC, all deliveries up until March this year include it. All of the M3 deliveries this year have had it and Tesla have confirmed it.
