MYLR Delivery Experience - Bay Area - Nov 22

haha, yeah, very different. Given their 'home delivery model, it is very hard to reject a delivery unless it arrives with major visible defects.

I see, thanks for sharing the info! Yeah, I prefer to have it fixed while it still cover under the initial warranty upon delivery. Let's see how it goes next week, my appointment is in Sunnyvale hopefully the body shop around there is less busy......

MYLR Delivery Experience - Bay Area - Nov 22

Hello I supposed you already got your car back by now (11/26) - how long has it been in the body shop? Are you satisfied with the body shop fix? I was at the Fermont service center on Nov 16th and they fixed a few minor problems (minor gap, two small areas of scratches) on spot. There are 3...

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

just curious, since you're putting in new wires and breakers, why didn't you go with a higher amp breaker like 50amp or 60amp to fully utilize the wall charger?

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Noop. Washer & dryer are located in the main house.

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Updates - I have another contractor who came over tonight and check out the panels. Initial feedback is, it should be okay with the 30amp sub panel and wall charger, just need to work out a few connections with the few 20amp breaker sets. However, he uploaded the pictures to his supervisor and...

Help - I don’t accept this car - Tesla won’t take it back

Old fashion - call their customer service. Me too, I wasn't able to find a place to change that option online/app, so I called in Sept to make that change and that was reflected on tesla.com when I logged in. However, they just ignore it at the end. LOL

Help - I don’t accept this car - Tesla won’t take it back

I probably will find it out tomorrow - I shared on another post, I opted to pick up at Fremont, but they have been keep changing it without asking. I gave up and whatever, I'll just wait for home delivery tomorrow afternoon.

    Delivery Date and Timing

Here's my very recent experience and would like to share: 1. EDD changed a few times over the past months - it was end of Oct/first week of Nov, then Nov 30-Dec31. 2. Got a SMS this Monday (Nov 7), "We are expecting your vehicle to enter production and be ready for delivery very soon....." 3...

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

The previous owner of the house expanded & remodel back in mid-2000, so I wasn't sure what wires they put in or the reason for 30 amp duplex breaker in sub panel. I guess the few quotes I got Tesla referred electricians probably want a bigger job and thus recommending to go full 40 or 50 amps...

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Right, I forgot the gauge of the wire. Anyway, sounds like I have decent amp to charge with a lower charging speed - i just got to decide whether to install a NEMA outlet or a WC directly inside the garage. This should save quite a bit of $$ from what i have been proposed - replace the...

    Delivery Date and Timing

I just got the VIN! The scheduling window is this Sat or Sun (Nov 11 and 12)..... Not sure if I can talk them out and move to Monday (Nov 13) instead... Not sure my bank has enough time to send them the cheque.... (pre-approved and locked rate)

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Here is the picture of my main panel, looks like I have a 30amp breaker that goes to the subpanel. Seeing this now, is that possible to upgrade this breaker pair on my main & sub panel from 30amp to say, 60amp and shall do the work? No wiring, just upgrade the breakers at both ends?

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

oh i see. So I can still install a WC inside the garage but just limited to a lower charging speed (up to 30 amps), I definitely prefer to have it installed inside. I don't drive that much, probably 60-80 miles a day for about 4 days in a week.

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Thanks for the input. Yeah, I don't drive that much on a per day basis; I tend to go with WC (or the newer J1772 WC for future flexibility) after reading all the comments.

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

I don't know.... but here's my subpanel in the garage - don't think I have a high load there, just a garage opener, some interior lights and exterior sensor lights.

Good point. I checked, but I don't see any rebates I could qualify for here

Advice: NEMA 14-50 or Wall Charger

Need advice on whether I should go with a NEMA 14-50 or directly a WC. I live in the bay area, made a few quotes with the tesla recommended electrician and they came back from $1600 to $3000 (pretty crazy), with a permit. Here's my situation: 1. The subpanel in the detached garage is not...

    Delivery Date and Timing

I got an SMS yesterday that says "We are expecting your vehicle to enter production and be ready for delivery very soon....." I checked on the app and the EDD has been moved up to Nov 12 - Nov 22 instead of Nov 31 - Dec 31 a few weeks ago (of course this has been changed many times and I no...
