Model X - Adjustable Camber arms to reduce rear tire wear

Haha I hear you. Seeing a brand new MYP for $43k (including credit) has my attention too. Really cant beat that car at that price.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Yep im not dying on that hill or anything. Maybe comparing to the i4 was triggering and should have said Polestar 2? Trunk based car sales in general are dwindling. I think this was/is Lucid's primary error with the Air. I have been close to getting an S several times, its just way more car...

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Man if this car had a hatch like the i4 it would be such a great car.

And now a word from Electrify America...

I wonder if that is the case. Do EA sites even make a profit? Seriously no idea. What is their motivation to continue improving once non Tesla/CCS cars can charge at SuperChargers? I mean I dont plan to ever use them again once I can stop at Buc-ee's like you fancy Tesla folks. Even BP put...

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

yeah its a mess really because you cant really do time limits easily either. My car will unlock the charge port when charging is complete but there wont be any open parking spaces close enough for someone else to take over the charger. At least not without a extension cable etc. Hopefully...

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

yeah there is not a great solution other than charging a high kwh rate with idle fees. Then you get to move your car at 3am? The EVSE at the hotel was free for guests which is great if you can get it. But even with 2 Tesla supercharger sites within a mile, if its free ppl just plug in all...

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

Yeah its a good start. Reality is the hotel might have two chargers available for the entire hotel. The new Hilton plan they announced said at least 6 chargers per hotel so once that is completed that will make a big difference. Again Tesla users have tons of options.

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

This is the same wall connector sold to hotels. They dont want to manage guests stealing the J1772 adapter from the TUWC. Thats why you have to dock the connector first to use the J3400 adapter.
  10. R

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I have not attempted that but my Lectron Telsa to J1772 adapter worked at a Tesla Destination charger at a hotel a week ago.

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

I believe your map is covering 6000 square miles. That is not Dallas. 400 square miles, well over 1m ppl
  12. R

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

This is not accurate. Filter for fast chargers of at least 72kw CCS in Dallas. Not talking about slow Destination chargers or private use chargers at dealerships.
  13. R

20000 new Tesla chargers at Hilton

Stayed at a new Hilton property that was actually two Hilton brands directly next to each other that share a parking lot. Two EV chargers shared between both hotels. One J1772 and one Tesla destination charger. First night Genesis charging on J1772 but Tesla charger was free. Used adapter...

Question for home charging install - wire size

I feel your pain, years ago when going through something similar with a new house build a buddy of mine that owned low voltage cable company ran some network cable for me prior to sheetrock/close. BP Pulse Orders $100 Million worth of Superchargers for US Network

I think the point they are making is of course you can charge anywhere but it wouldnt be free.
  19. R

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Then why can users bypass the adapter in the TUWC with an external 3rd party J3400->J1772 adapter and not have the issue?
  20. R

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Yep I get that but why would hardware replacements work without being on this firmware version? I would bet its a hardware issue/error with the J1772 adapter that they are either bypassing with this interim fix or replacing hardware which also fixes the issue.
  21. R

    Home Wall Connector Install

so like 2 months. yeah dont get it.
  22. R

    Home Wall Connector Install

You are going to install a 14-50 then a Wall connector in a couple months? I would just run 6/2MC and connect a wall connector from the get go. You can get TWC from Best Buy too. Then you can skip the more expensive wire, and the gfci breaker, 14-50 receptacle, etc.
  23. R

    Home Wall Connector Install

Yes you can get 6/2MC from amazon for less than $200 for 50ft. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09315VZ4G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

BP Pulse Orders $100 Million worth of Superchargers for US Network

Just glad to see someone installing more magic dock sites. Plenty of questions are answered in the BP press release here. 26 October 2023 Today bp (NYSE: bp) announced a deal in which bp pulse, bp’s EV charging business, will acquire ultra-fast charging hardware units from Tesla (NASDAQ...

Question for home charging install - wire size

The point of having a subpanel is you can have multiple circuits that source from that panel. So just think about how you would run future circuits from the subpanel to other locations. In my case I only ran a single 6/2 MC on a 60 amp circuit but I left a service loop in the attic space if...

    Shudder

You can read more about the issue here. There are tons of posts about the issue. Its a design flaw that has not been corrected.
  28. R

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

I would bet the firmware just bypasses some sort of error/issue with the J1772 adapter. They are probably still trying to determine the real issue. Given that Hilton is buying 20k of these, I hope they get it sorted.

    BMW latest convert to NACS

I would think they will continue to move forward with magic dock sites too. Especially if they can tap into Fed funding to make the swap in cables/hardware as needed. Even the L2 Hilton order of 20k universal wall chargers seems to imply they will continue with both CCS/J3400 for at least a...

with most cars being able to use Tesla SC will Level 2 AP on other brands make u leave Tesla behind?

I will say the hands free driving (Assisted Driving Mode Plus) in my BMW iX is really good. Its apparently divided highway only but is completely hands free. You half press the turn signal lever and it will scan the adjacent lane and when clear will change lanes for you. It uses the driver...

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

    Macsboost vs N2itive

yes alignment is alignment doesnt matter how you get there. You may or may not get to -1 or less rear camber but the shim solution is obv much cheaper and a good first option.

Firmware Tracker | Wall Monitor I have the Wall Monitor app installed. There is some similar detail on their site.

"The charging station is being installed at the Pilot Travel Center at 417 Route 315 in Pittston, as part of Pilot Company’s collaboration with General Motors. The cost of construction is supported by $610,393 in NEVI funds. Pilot Company will own the charging station, working with EVgo to...

    Macsboost vs N2itive

Point being that with the stock camber arms or shim kit the camber is not adjustable directly due to fixed camber arms. The only way to dial in the camber directly is with adjustable camber arms.

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

Cant force anyone to build any chargers anywhere is the point. This is only IF someone decides to build chargers and apply for funding.

fwiw I have the 23.24.3 firmware and same part number 1734412-02-D and have been charging fine for about a month now. Have not had any issues thus far with my TUWC.

I'm sure the power sharing tech has improved now with big hotel chains like Hilton moving forward with significant install projects. The commissioning process ultimately should determine how the wall connectors are used. The power feed should be up to the owner or local code requirements. I...

    Macsboost vs N2itive

The macsboost shim is for the camber arm. The stock camber arm is fixed and not adjustable. The shim pushes the camber out to try to correct excessive negative camber. The n2itive specs are to be used with their adjustable camber arms. The shim fix does not provide camber arm adjustment it...

New "Universal Wall Connector" doesn't charge the Rivian.

Yeah that seems to be the cheapest option for sure. I left a loop of cable on my existing run where I could add a junction box and split the 60A circuit to a second WC later on. I dont foresee needing that anytime soon but just wanted it as an option. I ended up mounting my WC so it can reach...
