My First Impressions of the Model S

About a month ago I booked a test drive at the Preston event. I was in two minds about booking the test drive. I can't afford to buy just yet, maybe next year, but that will be at a pinch. I asked the question about how prospective you had to be in another thread. So I went for it. First off I...

    Elon Musk

Re the need to have jet engines in order to fly at the speed of sound. Whilst this is true of current technology, it is not necessarily true. What is required is enough thrust to accelerate the vehicle to the required velocity. In general this means moving a lot of air with enough energy...

    Teslas in Movies & TV

I was watching Sky Sports F1 in here the UK this evening and an advert came on for a Leasing company, I cant remember its name. Anyway, it featured a white Model S, RHD. It was my first media sighting of a model S without prompting, except for maybe the Monaco GP one..

UK Pricing / Design Studio back online

Although still outside my wallet range, I spec'd a S85 with tech pkge and dual chargers, MC red with leather seats. It came out around £68,500 ish. The same spec now is £65,030. Almost the cost of the dual motors!

    Input request re: 3D Printers

Strangely, although I don't have a model S, and I don't like the colours the guy used, I find this solution interesting: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:149623 It might fulfil some of your points. All it takes is a printer and imagination. One of the things to remember is that things do not...

    Bjørn's Tesla Model S videos

Another cracking video... even better on the big telly :-) Spoiler alert..... Loved the heart photo it looked great and the location was just right to do it too :-)

    My ValetShield

How about 3D printing a valet shield? All it takes is for someone to create the initial model, upload it to somewhere like thingiverse, this can be downloaded and printed on personal 3d printers or sent to a 3d printing house for the 3d challenged people. I would happily design one but hey I...

    Input request re: 3D Printers

Sorry, only just spotted the thread, I would recommend Wanaho Duplicator 4/4X or Flashforge. I have a Duplicator 4X, its a clone of Makerbots Replicator dual, it has dual extruders and works really well.

Saleen Foursixteen Video with sound from modified drivetrain.

Helical cut gears have their teeth cut at an angle, slanted eg., ///////// whereas straight cut gears are cut vertically eg., lllllllll Helical cut gears have less backlash than straight cut gears and transfer power much better than straight cut gears. Well that is how they are sold in RC...

New SC in Birmingham Opening Aug 12

Sorry for the confusion here, but I though the Birmingham SC was opening at the Welcome Break Hopwood park. Or is Tesla opening a SC in the middle of Birmingham?

Stunning visuals in experimental short to be used by Tesla Motors

Cinematography and editing are excellent ..... but what's it trying to say? If this short was meant to be an advert, I suspect that not many would get it, sorry...

    Test drive events

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I am not a company owner, my most likely scenario would be gen III when that arrives. I fell in love with the Model S when I first saw it last year. Probably because I am an engineer  I used to do wedding videos, hence the user name. I just need a...

    Test drive events

This could seem like a silly question, but I will ask it anyways. I really like the model S and if circumstances ever permit I would dearly love to have one. The question is - What level of potential customer does one have to be to get to test drive a Model S at one of the events dotted...

    Help! Where are the savings?

The man math is quite simple, buy the Model S and sell the Fusion. Me? I'm a Brit. I have never wanted a US vehicle .....EVER .... until I heard of Tesla. Unless I win on the UK lottery (or get lucky or both) I can only hope for a Gen III. Sorry Jaguar.... The weird thing is (and call me a...
