I had two model 3s on the last step (accept delivery) with the Plaid payment step completed on both. I didn't see either in my bank account, and one was there for two days. I was then able to cancel one of the 3 through Tesla. I don't think the payment actual starts until you accept delivery.

Based on sinking resale prices and the 3P being above the $55k federal rebate limit, I think Tesla will have to adjust the price down next year. I wouldn't buy a 3P expecting for it not to depreciate (like 99% of cars in normal times).

I was able to find an in stock 3P, with 900 miles. Not sure I made the right decision, could this car have some manufacturing defects which caused a rejection at delivery? In any case, now I have a VIN and a delivery window of the 25th-31st.

Tesla now shows Jan 2023 delivery estimates on new custom orders. Hopefully the estimates were accurate and everyone with a December estimate gets their December delivery.

I ordered late morning on 12/22, a 3P with a white interior. I also don't have a VIN assigned yet. Post back here if you make another order with black interior.

I ordered a custom 3P today hoping for delivery in December (will cancel otherwise). I'm in the SF Bay Area, but can't say I'm confident about the December delivery since Tesla's website still shows late December delivery if I change my zip code to remote Maine.
