FSD V12 (end to end AI)

To be clear, I didn't actually say that I thought autopilot was trying to follow the shadows. Although I think that's a possibility. I think it's more likely that a tight turn, combined with a shadow, which lessons resolution, could be the issue. It will be fun to follow! (Pun intended!)

Poll: When will FSD V12 be in wide release?

I believe it's the shadow. It is amazing that they're still having problems with shadows and auto steer. They even had it with ap1! I've noticed it on my 2018 model X as well. The shadows will throw the thing off all the time!

    One time charge limit setting

In a teslarati article they say that the new software allows a one-time setting of charge limit. As we've been asking for this for many years, I was excited about it. Has anyone had a chance to try this yet? I'm on version 11.1 (2024.2.7), so maybe not applicable to me yet.

    Parking Assist Unavailable Model X 2016 75D

I was going to suggest that the radar might have been tilted a bit, that happened on my AP1 model s. But, if I recall correctly, the highway autopilot also quit working. I also had some sensors go bad and they had to be replaced. At one point I had one that slipped back into the bumper too far...

How many miles on original battery ?

I would love to show you a picture the label, but, unfortunately, the Tesla service reps scraped it off when they were trying to get the battery back in after they had to pull it out for some service. I didn't notice it till a few days later. I think it's a rev D, but I could be wrong. It's been...

THINGS I DON'T MISS ABOUT GAS VEHICLES

I have had my two different Tesla's turn on their cooling fans in the garage. Nowhere near close to the amount of heat put out by one of those big engines the catalytic converter etc. Not even in the same ballpark. Again, perhaps it makes a difference if you're in a hot climate.

THINGS I DON'T MISS ABOUT GAS VEHICLES

Perhaps you've not lived in a hot climate with a large engineed vehicle. The stored thermal energy in the engine, transmission and exhaust system (catalytic converter in particular) really heats up the garage. And it smells like it too!

How many miles on original battery ?

My Dad was an auto mechanics instructor, and shop owner, for many years. He used to say only his worst students went to car dealers. The best ones always went to independent shops. Once we finally do get independent repair on Tesla's, we'll finally have the service we need. I do miss the old...

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

I'd have to disagree with you. The price per panel has stayed about the same, with the power going up. Solar is a lot cheaper than it used to be. Still, it isn't a panacea. A lot of things have to go together for things to work right.

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

I'm wondering about distributed generation, for the most part solar panels on people's roofs. If enough of that is done, does it reduce some of the need for upgrading of the power grid? I realize that sometimes things just get old, 50 years is a long time to use the same wires, transformers...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

Exactly! Let the government govern, complete with fines and even imprisonment for those who refuse to act in a civilized manner, and let business do business. If each keeps their place, things work well. When the government starts to run the money, things fall apart. You basically get a more...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

Markets have always existed, governments have not. That's a ridiculous statement! Do you honestly think that nobody can buy and sell unless there's a government around? Sure, they don't use currency from some specific government, but that doesn't mean they can't trade.

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

If you give the government the ability to give out money, you give them control. And they don't let go. Just ask any doctor's office. Kids in the government with two years associate's degrees are deciding whether or not and how much they should pay doctors for complex surgeries. This is what...

Prediction, in Which Year Will New Electric Vehicle Sales Exceed 50% in the United States "Poll"

What do really do not need is government "help". They're doing enough to muck everything up right now! The EV adoption rate will work because it's a better idea. And, people get their souls soothed by knowing that they're helping the environment a bit.

No more free loaners, now $100 a day.

Yes, I was a fool for trusting Tesla. But, they were offering feed loaners here as of last month. So, I guess it caught me by surprise. Which is itself surprising as much as I read these forums. Guess I was just venting.

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

A time saver that people don't consider is the standard gas station stop. It's still 5 to 10 minutes. Obviously it varies by person but if that's once a week, and let's go for 10 minutes because it's easy math, that's 500 minutes a year. Even if we cut that in half to 250, that's over 4 hours. I...

No more free loaners, now $100 a day.

My service appointment was coming up so I contacted the service department to see if I could get a loaner, since it would be an all-day repair and we have dropped down to just the one vehicle. Now I'm told it's $100 a day for a loaner unless it's a warranty repair, where they leave it free...

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

Is it accurate to say that you have never, even once, taken a long road trip in your Model X? Additionally it was not for sure that Tesla was coming out with the cyber truck anytime soon. Now that the cybertruck is actually starting to find its way out into...

    Trunk Lock Behavior Changed

I'm sorry, I'm not sure where I read it. It wasn't that you change the address, but rather that the Google pin for the address is a long ways from the garage. Whoever was writing it was able to go online and change it directly within Google. Tesla only uses their data, not their API. At least...

    Trunk Lock Behavior Changed

I read somewhere, may have even been on this thread, that the home address can be off by quite a ways depending on how much of a driveway you have, and where Google has you. If you upgrade your Google point for your home address to be close to where you actually park your car, some of these...

Prediction: Model X price will be reduced to $78K in January 2024

Good points all around, except for that one. Tesla was going to have to raise wages no matter what. Inflation is a reality, as you already pointed out, and they have to raise the wages of their employees to match. I don't think it had anything to do with the UAW strike at all. In fact it's...

I would most certainly not want to put all my eggs into one (broken) basket. If we know anything about human nature it is that it needs constant checks and balances. I thought you were correct from the beginning, and we are nearly there right now. But, I think you might not be right this time. S and X sales were apparently at a 5-year high last year. They don't really need to do anything to increase sales right now. I could see the y and the 3 going down a...

I did not think any 2016 has the capacity for full self-driving. Does it have the cameras on the fender Wells and b pillars? Driving to Alaska....

Some airline pilot with a 2013 S made the trip close on to 10 years ago up the Alcan highway. He said welding shops were his friends. A rattling noise from the front when going over bumps

Ant carrier quick well enough to tell, but my 2018 X developed a kind of almost clunking sound. Turned out that whoever had replaced all the suspension parts in the front, with something third party, hasn't tightened all the bolts properly. Does the charge me $100 to torque them all to the...

You are correct, I did have a typo. Medicare, not medicaid. Voice to text and all I guess. That, is about the end of what I can agree with. Medicare is required unless you do have the wherewithal to purchase very expensive insurance outright. A very small percentage of the population can...

I'm beginning to believe you are correct. Sad though. Setting up a system that could easily move it in and out and use it as a power wall certainly seems to make good sense, but then this is Tesla. :) Hopefully they'll have an option to swap it out for the season at service center, sort of...

Looking at used Model X’s, looking for opinions / advice

In fairness, there were no cars that had the one pedal driving to a stop, as you're speaking of, at that time. Have a lot in there! Most of it has simple answers. Norway the most obvious. How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

This would not seem to be likely as one has to upgrade the ECU board on cars built before 2018 or 19, in order to use the CCS2 adapter. That is to say, to be able to use the ccs protocol. It would appear that all the new cars use both the CCS compatible protoco and the original.l, whereas the...

How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

For certain it would involve control boards, possibly some of the backend stuff. From what I understand it is by no means minor. Easier to replace the whole system than to deal with it. Plus, the old ones can't handle anywhere near the amount of current people want nowadays, so why update their...

How many of you will/may transition to CyberTruck?

No, not quite. When Tesla put together their connector, CCS wasn't even decided yet. In fact the first cross country trip I took back in 2015 CCS still wasn't around. It's confusing because the AC connector on which CCs is based was all over the place. In fact all the Teslas came with a adapter...

THINGS I DON'T MISS ABOUT GAS VEHICLES
