This has become of serious interest because I got an email from Tesla today telling me that I can transfer my free supercharging for life from my 2016 S to a new S, X or Y if I take delivery before 31 December. Has me thinking about it very seriously.

What is the peak supercharging rate (KW) of the current production Model X (on the fastest superchargers)? In my 2016 Model S it's about 124 KW. I know the newer cars are faster, but how fast at the peak? Not looking for an average that takes into account the taper, but just the instantaneous...

Had my fuse replaced on Thursday, 5 October at the Loveland Colorado service center. No charge. Took about 1 1/2 hours total time. Loveland service is a great center to work with. Timely and very responsive. I've always been very pleased with their professionalism and attention to detail.

Loveland gave me an estimate of $300.66.

Sorry, I was remiss in not updating the thread. The mobile service tech came by on July 10 and replaced the charge port. He said it looked like water had managed to get into the mechanism and probably just slowly corroded the electrical contacts. Took about an hour to replace it, and cost just...

Nothing there related to the charge port. The Tesla person I got over the phone said there was nothing in the logs, either. Dumb thing keeps saying USB file system is corrupted and that I need to reformat the drive, but it plays just fine.

Yeah, I forgot that the older cars - like mine - does have transferrable free supercharging. Tesla just says "not transferrable" as a blanket statement, without qualifying it for the exceptions.

Thanks. I did not know that. Still have the question about cruise control without auto steer, though. I tried several times but could not engage just cruise. When I activated auto steer and turned the wheel just a bit to disengage it, it disengaged cruise as well.

I did a demo drives of non-plaid Model S and X yesterday. One thing that kinda shocked me was that cruise control can't be used without autopilot. Is this true? On my 2016 S I can flip the stalk once to active cruise control (which I use all the time), and twice to activate autopilot (AP1)...

Forget it. The USB disconnect bug is STILL THERE. I guess when it stayed connected the night after I upgraded the software was itself just a glitch. Tesla really needs to improve their regression testing and fix the bugs.

Thanks. I know how to find the superchargers. It's the destination chargers that were listed in an earlier version of the app that I can't find.

Older versions of the Tesla App listed the nearest Superchargers and Destination Chargers. I can't find lists of either in the latest android version of the App - 4.1.1 - but the location map does show Superchargers within the radius of the map screen. No destination chargers show up, though...

On the rare occasions I used range mode, it gave me one or two extra miles on a total of about 260. Not really worth it to sit there and sweat or shiver, so I haven't used it in several years.

My 90D had the max charge rate restored in 2020.48.37.1, except the aggressive taper is still in place. I went from a max of 94kw rate to 124.

Just got it. I'm waiting for someone to tell us if Tesla is stealing back the restored supercharger speeds on 90 batteries.
