FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

V12 is better by almost every measure. But unfortunately, it still cannot handle construction with shifting lane markers. The GW Parkway in DC is down to a single lane each way for the next 18 months. At times FSD will go at 45 mph and then slow down to 5-10 mph fairly abruptly when the barriers...

FSD v12.x (end to end AI)

I think it is doing extraordinarily well in difficult DC traffic. I admire its assertiveness. It holds its own against the city buses and doesn’t surrender on streets that lose lanes to bus lanes causing the traffic to converge in a single lane. Yes, it did try to turn left against a red left...

    FSD Beta v11.x

Thank goodness 2023.44.30.25 arrived today. So far so good! It handled DC traffic better than v 11 ever did. Yes it did try to run a red light but I admire its assertiveness.

    FSD Beta v11.x

A significant percentage of the people installing 24.2.7 (11.4.9) are coming of of 2023.44.30.8 or 2023.44.30.14. Meaning they got skipped for 12.3. Including people in the United States on HW3. If that happens to me, I will cancel my subscription.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Where is the starship investor thread? I always said to myself. And here it is. Hiding in plain sight all along.
  6. Z

Anyone else think this is a slap in the face for long term FSD buyers?

I have it in good authority that once Optimus is able to do a full hospital tuck on a bedsheet autonomously everyone will get back to work on FSD. It shouldn’t be long now.

    FSD Beta v11.x

I am just thrilled that FSD finally slows down for speed humps on my street. I miss being able to silence the nag by nudging the volume control wheel, however. But I have to keep my hands in the wheel anyway when I drive at night so I can flashback every third car who thinks I’m driving with my...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I got my first strike driving home from work very late. I was paying attention with my hands on the wheel, but a strike for not paying attention. There were so many deer on the road the rest of the trip (they think they o‘em the roads that late). I really missed FSD for the first time. It does a...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I think you have a nostalgic view of how great 11.3.6 was. If I am on a 2 lane road my car basically surrenders to any car coming in the opposite direction.
  10. Z

    No longer getting the updates

My car was updated as of July 6. I rebooted and it immediately downloaded an update.
  11. Z

    Increasing battery longevity.

There is a benefit from sitting at a low SOC. I have an LR but I never charge above 50% because that is sufficient for my daily commute.
  12. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

Yes, the George Washington Parkway in Washington DC is a different road. I don’t generally have issues with construction zones. I think the reversible lane may be at work.
  13. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

No, the construction speed limit is 40 throughout. FSD is still registering the speed limit as 50 mph (pre-construction). It seems to be alarmed by oncoming traffic.
  14. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

The GW Parkway in DC now presents a complicated freeway construction scenario (concrete walls or pylons on both sides of the lanes) and traffic coming in the opposite direction in a reversible lane. Left to its own devices, FSD will slow down to 20 miles an hour. I find that I have to apply...
  15. Z

Favor Low SoC or Small Cycles?

That is the whole point. I can keep it between 20-35% during the week and still have plenty of range. If I want it higher for weekends, I can charge daily for a few nights. I need to figure out what my nightly charging adds (and then adjust my percentages accordingly).
  16. Z

Favor Low SoC or Small Cycles?

This is incredibly useful for me (thanks AAKEE). I use 10% of my battery for my daily commute. I haven't gotten my Tesla wall charger installed so I am using the home AC charger. AC charging is very slow. It sounds like I should set my charge limit to 50% and wait until my car is at 20% to...

    FSD Beta v11.x

I am happy that the 2023.12.xx crowd will continue to get regular updates. Because we are stuck with 11.3.6 for the duration it seems.
  18. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

Thank you both! I will update now. t
  19. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

I have 11.3.6 via 2023.12.10. Now it is asking me to install 2023.12.11. This one doesn't seem to have a FSB beta version. I assume that I should ignore this one? They have added a reversible lane to the GW Parkway (meaning that cars traveling the opposite way in the second lane on a 4 lane...
  20. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

I thought that 23.12.10 would be the path forward. The older and wiser folks said that 23.12.10 would be an island. They were correct. I would trade the newer features for 11.4.2.
  21. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

I don’t know if this is a common problem but 11.3.6 seems to be unable to navigate a left-hand turn where two lanes are turning at the same time in both directions. If I am in the far left lane, it swings wide and cuts off the car in the near left lane. If I am in the near left lane, it swings...
  22. Z

FSD add-on for one month possible?

No this is just for a new enrollees with HW3. I don’t think they will give 11.3.6 to people who are already on 11.3.6.
  23. Z

FSD add-on for one month possible?

It looks like everyone is getting it.
  24. Z

New Tesla/EV owner and first-time FSD beta user - is this a joke?

I actually learned a lot when I was using FSD without the beta. One unintended benefit was that it limited me to 5 miles over the speed limit on city streets. It was annoying as hell, but it made me a much safer driver. Of course, the beta removes that limitation, best I can tell. The best...
  25. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

Then make sure you never update from 11.3.6. Because if you do, you will be joining us on the new main branch. 2023.12.10+ is the path forward.
  26. Z

2023.12.5 is waiting to install. Will this block me from receiving FSD beta 2023.7.5?

Yes! This is great news. I still haven’t got the download yet, but it will be soon.
  27. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

It is possible that the limited few that already have 11.4.1 will get additional releases of 11.4.x that are unavailable to the 11.3.6 folks. But it would make no sense to have a widespread upgrade from 11.3.6 to 2023.7.5. That is a dead end.
  28. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

It seems pretty clear than any future updates from 3.6 will be on the 2023.12.10 branch or higher. I like this solution. It takes pressure off of having to release a 4.2 (or higher) version in order to add the 2023 cars into the FSD beta.
  29. Z

2023.12.5 is waiting to install. Will this block me from receiving FSD beta 2023.7.5?

I opted into a FSD Subscription this month based on a fundamental misunderstanding of the current FSD beta version. I will happily let it roll over to a second month in June if there is a decent chance that 11.4.2 or something similar will allow new people into the beta program in the next 4-6...
  30. Z

    FSD Beta v11.x

I hope that 11.4.2 will be released to 2023 models. I am sure that Teslafi doesn’t have many 2023 model subscribers, but so far every 11.4.1 install on HW3 is by an existing FSD beta subscriber.

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

Didn’t you bother to test drive the car you bought in 2022? Did you test the suspension before you signed the check to purchase the vehicle? It looks to me like you got the car you wanted and the car you bought. I will pick up my model Y tomorrow. Yes, it is $16,000 cheaper than yours and has a...

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

They sent me a new order agreement, but the price was still the same! I will have to ask them fix that.

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

I finally got my vin yesterday. 1/24 order date. Austin build. New window is 4/27–5/4.

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

I got a text from Tesla when I ordered my car in January. And then one yesterday alerting me that I could trade in my current vehicle and apply the value to my upcoming model Y purchase. I guess I will take that as a good sign!
  36. Z

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

At least I got back to the original price for my vehicle.
  37. Z

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

I hope I am wrong, but my prediction is that you will get an update soon for April 13 – May 18. I kept my March 20-31 date for the longest time.

    Virginia Waiting Room

I am hoping that I will be able to take delivery at Tysons. I don’t want home delivery. OD 1/24. EDD 4/16–5/21. MYLR Blue, white.

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

    Finally mine changed. OD 1/24. EDD 4: 4/16 - 5/21 (from 3/20 – 3/31).
  40. Z

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

Apparently adding the tow hitch is all it took. I am still 3/20-3/31 with a 1/24 order date. I would love to have a delayed delivery date.
  41. Z

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

Mine updated to the narrow window on February 22 (3/20–3/31). No vin so far.

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

I’m in the camp that wants to wait longer to get their vehicle. So I was excited when it shifted to a later date. This update was less favorable. Ordered 1/24. EDD2: Apr 8 to May 20 EDD3: March 23 to March 31
  44. Z

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

My updated delivery is now April 9 – May 20. The later the better as far as I’m concerned.

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

I guess we will find out in the next few weeks how much that $55,000 cap affected Tesla’s pricing decisions on the model Y.

[Jan 2023 ODs] MYLR / Blue / White - Waiting Room

I ordered mine without ever stopping by a service center. When I finally went in for a test drive, the person helping me said “oh I see you ordered a model Y long range“!
