Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I would be tempted if they offered a reasonable price. Tesla still makes the best electric cars. Although my last year with Tesla Model S has been my worst experience ever with any car, the first five years were the best ever. I would like to be back there with a new warranty and super...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I would actually rather have my battery capped 10% and have SuC speed restored. I almost never charged beyond 90% anyway. So in my view chargegate is worse than batterygate, and it seems to affect all vehicles of these generations whereas only a minority(?) are capped.

50F (10C) may be low. Above 77F (25C) is probably optimal. Driving 20 miles will not raise it sufficiently. Mileage and SuC% are other determinants of course.

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

Excessive lithium plating on the anode in the form of dendrites seems to be a problem associated with charging (incl. regenerative charging) of relatively cold batteries. That probably explains why some otherwise similarly treated cars are affected and others not. I expect there are more victims...

Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

There is another similar report in this thread. Interestingly the battery was still restricted when I picked up the car, but I was informed that it would unlock after first sleep. I was wary of that, but it turned out to be correct.

Appr. 10% reduced as is typical with the new software. The full capacity was restored after SC visit.

I also recently had my 2013/110k km battery replaced with a software limited reman battery (85kWh F). After (a lot of) complaining the local SC reversed the limitation , restoring full capacity, but still limited SuC rate.

Charge Daily or Charge as needed?

Is there really a Depth Of Discharge issue? I doubt that discharging five times from 80 to 70% is any better than once from 80 to 30%. Probably the contrary.

    Losing miles while plugged in

Battery temperature rise above ambient temperature while driving or charging and drops back afterwards. Displayed energy is temperature sensitive, so you don't actually lose miles other than the continous, slow vampire drain which is typically 2-3 miles / 24h.
