    60D Order/Delivery Thread

Confirmed delivery date 9/27. By way of follow-up, after I had my date, I applied online for leasing. Had the approval within 24 hours, and had received email notification with options like annual mileage and money down, and how each choice would affect monthly payment the next day. Process was...

    60D Order/Delivery Thread

I did nothing. I was fully prepared for the end of October or thereabouts. Suspect the speed up is the consequence of Tesla's quarter end rush that is well known.

Always amazing to see the quarter end rush. Will have to call tomorrow to plan for timing of lease application. Their site suggests the docs may have to be resubmitted if more than 30 days elapsed.

Fobo Tire Pressure monitor for smart phones

thanks for that info. I was told they clean out all the sealant somehow. I don't know if they replaced the TPMS sensor, I'll have to check, but I put the FOBO sensor back on the new tire and it worked fine.

Fobo Tire Pressure monitor for smart phones

I totally get that. FYI, while driving to work today the cars tire warning system came on, first yellow, telling me to check, then red, telling me to pull over as soon as it was safe (I was doing 75 on the expressway). The FOBO sensor beeped simultaneously, and my app showed the right rear was...

Fobo Tire Pressure monitor for smart phones

Consider it confirmation that your system is working. I use it to remind me to check the pressure each morning when I head out. I don't rally find it annoying. It becomes second nature.

The Great HOV Sticker Hack (making your HOV stickers removable)

Might I suggest badge holders from gominigo? They attach using the same screws as the license plate. This is how I've displayed my HOV sticker without touching the paint. The link is Badge Holders - GMG Motorsports-Home of the Original 'NO HOLES' License Plate Bracket.

    Nitrogen for tires?

in my admittedly limited experience, using nitrogen did result in significantly less variation in pressures with changes in temperature. Knowing the finickiness that some of our tires express regarding excess wear, is there no role for nitrogen to limit that variation?

    Nitrogen for tires?

Nitrogen in tires Has anyone considered using nitrogen to fill their tires? I used to do this when I lived in the mountains. As it's denser than oxygen there are less pressure changes with temperature, and reportedly better tire wear, perhaps due to better maintenance of correct pressures...

    UMC Extension

There may be a few out there with more than one Model S. I know several on this forum have asked about outlet locations. Here's a solution that solves both issues: a professionally spliced extension on the original Tesla charging cord, done by Quick Charge Power. I sent them my extra cord (from...

TPMS - Low Pressure - Why Not Tell Us Which Tire?

I have 21", which wear much better when properly inflated. I'd suggest the FoBoTire solution. It's a Bluetooth based pressure and temperature monitoring system with an iPhone or Anroid app. Check it out.

    Navigation Update deficiency

I prefer my navigation screen to display the "heading up" view. Maybe it's just habit, but for me it's less disorienting than the "north up". I used the same approach when I boated too. The new 6.1 firmware has a very nice "full trip" mode as a third option for viewing. Unfortunately it...

Drop-In Center Console now in the Tesla Model S online store

I do know of at least one person on this forum who has the carbon interior that was planning to buy a piece of CF (or a look alike) to cover the piano black. That wouldn't work, of course, for the other, more exotic, selections.

Drop-In Center Console now in the Tesla Model S online store

When I traded cars they removed the console from the one I traded and installed it free of charge in the new one. Took 20 minutes. FWIW, the decor is only on the top part that flips open where the phone adapter sits. If you're planning on docking your phone or leaving that section open for any...

    New owner of white p85.

My wife loves her white P85 with the "old" performance seats with the red piping. The carbon fiber interior and spoiler with the pano roof look great. Autopilot too. What she doesn't know about the 691hp D I'm driving won't hurt her! :)

Experience on trading an ICE for Tesla

I traded a 2014 G550, and at the suggestion of the Tesla DS, checked the KBB pricing. Tesla offered about $6000 less! CarMax was no help, as they don't really have the clientele for a 100k SUV, so their best offer was 2k less than Tesla's. After deciding to cancel my order Tesla stepped up and...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

Well, I decided to take the car. I had planned to wait and reorder but the Tesla post addressing the range changed my mind. Yak-55 not to muddy the waters but I cancelled the P85D you see in my signature for exactly what you posted. Of course, I already have a Tesla to drive, and I am getting the P85 for a second Tesla in the family. That does , at least, allow me the pleasure and joy of the car; missing the D's...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

With that I agree wholeheartedly. Now if I could only get delivery! FYI the D is cancelled- too much stuff iffy. I'll reorder when things settle down. The wife's P85 is becoming Hawking-like with Heisenberg uncertainty thrown in!

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

Nothing shady about it. If my car completes production on December 31 with a 2014 VIN, I take delivery on January 2, and offer it the next day, do I have a year old car or a 2 day old car? Any legitimate buyer would understand the difference, and the fact that Tesla doesn't have a model year...
  41. lsnetman

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

I really don't get the VIN Year issue. There are many model year 2015 ICE cars sold and delivered in late 2014. When they're later traded in 2017, say, it's a 2 model year difference, regardless whether they were placed in service in 2014. Likewise with Tesla. Even if you have a "2014" VIN, if...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

funny you should write that. I posted a little while ago that I was canceling my orders of both a P85D, for all the reasons mentioned throughout this thread AND a P85 because of the low trade in offer, at wholesale. Well, today I get a call from the DS and Tesla seems to have come up with...

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

Yes! Even though the sales tax savings takes some of the sting, it's still galling to be low balled. Methinks Tesla is not exactly the warm and fuzzy place we thought. Deep down its still a profit minded business, though admittedly dressed up in finery.

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

The P85 was for my wife. She was trading a 6 month old G550. That's in jeopardy too, as our trade offer from Tesla on her car is literally 10k less then even a CarMax wholesale offer. There will be 2 beautifully equipped cars newly available at Dania Beach, it seems. As I said, we have a model S...

Well, after a great deal of teeth grinding, I'm going to cancel my order. I'm trying to be rational, yet I know that part of the decision involves some rationalization. So be it.
