    Random Model X sightings

The German registration number starts with IN, which is for cars registered in Ingolstadt, where Audi happen to be headquartered. So maybe Audi got their hands on one and are testing it? If it was Tesla testing it on the Autobahn I would have expected it to be Dutch registered.

Trip meters not updating in 0.1 increments

I've noticed this too, but I always thoght it was becuase it was possibly counting fractions of miles internally and just converting those numbers to km every 160 meter or so, and then sometimes increase 0.1 km and sometimes 0.2 km.

(Reported on 12/26/2015) 11+ car wait at Tejon Ranch!

They have sold two to a business owner in Sweden. It's called fastcharger rather than supercharger, as it's limited to 60 kW. http://www.teslamotorsclub.com/showthread.php/48234-Private-Tesla-Fastcharger-Not-quite-a-supercharger-This-guy-bought-2...

    Does 120 km/h Limit Exist?

It is location based. When I entered the UK before switching to miles, it would show a 30 sign as 48. Unfortunately you can't switch only the speedometer. I would still like the navigation to show distances in km and the parking sensors in cm while driving in the UK.

Supercharger station Bad Fallingbostel, Germany is temporarily closed. Any more info?

Speculation: It's only 37 km along A7 from Bispingen, that opened earlier in the week, with 8 stalls. Bad Fallingbostel has 2 stalls according to supercharge.info. My guess is that it was just a temporary location. But again, this is pure speculation

" Europe and Asia are pending regulatory approval "

This makes no sense. What kind of regulatory approval would that be? I doubt an new certificate of conformity is needed, then they would need that for each update. And if there were law changes required it would take years, not weeks.

Denmark: P90D sticker price to increase 180% on Jan 1 2016

The will drop the tax on NOx emissions. The main polluter here is not Diesel cars, but industries, and those are the ones the Danish government wants to give a break. A bad idea if you ask me, but this is not done to help VW.

EV your 'primary' car?... could it be your only car? Is it? Choose all that apply.

I rarely take my ICE motorbike for (short) trips, but it happens. And as it said vehicles, not cars, I ticked those options, but the 85 is the only car we own.

LTE upgrade is on the way

This will make a bigger difference when more of current 3G spectra is reallocated to LTE or later generations of mobile networks.

    Postponed delivery

It's quite a bit of travel. First across the US (by train?), then by ship across the Atlantic, then reasembly in Tilburg, the Netherlands, and the sent by lorry to Italy. To me 2 months doesn't seem very much for that process. The reassembly part saves 10 % in import duties to the EU, as it can...

Volvo V60 charging at a Supercharger - comments?

Yes of course, hence the smiley. I would read very little into some people testing if they can charge when they see a plug that fits. Volvo has publicly stated they don't believe in BEVs http://www.expressen.se/motor/volvochef-om-tesla-ingen-smart-losning/ (in Swedish). They believe the way...

Volvo V60 charging at a Supercharger - comments?

Or maybe he was not talkative because he simply didn't understand Danish? It's not that easy for a Swede to comprehend :) Anyway, he wouldn't be the first one to plug in a Volvo at a supercharger in Sweden

UMC trouble on Norwegian electricity network

One theory is that the Norwegian UMC is not checking for ground faults like the "rest of Europe" UMC does, and therefore is a little bit less safe to use, but still, if the Norwegian is deemed safe enough I'd easly take that one instead, as mine didn't work for me when trying to charge in Bodø...

Paying for charging throughout Europe by credit card

I'm now travelling with my Model S through Europe, and supercharging is great, but sometimes you want to get off the beaten track, and you get hit by the sillyness of different proprietary payment systems, like mobile apps, and RFID cards. I can accept that these systems exist, by that you can't...

Open letter to Mr Elon Musk regarding showing prices "After incentives and gas saving

Some ten days ago the design studio changed in many European countries, including Sweden, to show a price "After incentives and gas saving", instead of the actual price you pay to Tesla Motors. That caused a lot of discussion on the Tesla Club Sweden with a total 0 people supporting the move. At...

    Trolley Tesla

Tallinn, Estonia, has a trolleybus network, and Estonia has a well established charging network. There are plans to allow electric cars in public transport lanes, and when doing so they are hoping to take this one step further by allowing charging while driving, using the trolleybus electric...

Speed limit sign camera - USA vs. Europe / UK?

It does not seem to recognise the built up area and built up area ends signs though, which essentially in Sweden is a 50 km/h and a 70 km/h speed sign respectively (other limits in other countries). It seems to pick up the speed limit change by position rather when entering or leaving a village...

    CHAdeMO adapter wait frustration

Where do you find the information about 4 hour limits on AC charging? Being in Estonia right now, with a single charger and still waiting for the CHAdeMO adaptor (got on the waitlist in Jan) it's a quite significant difference if I can charge for four hours for 4.5 EUR rather than only one hour...

    VisibleTesla

The instructions said you should download jfxtras-labs-2.2-r6-YYYMMDD.HHMMSS-XXX-sources.jar, but the correct file is jfxtras-labs-2.2-r6-YYYMMDD.HHMMSS-XXX.jar (the one without "sources"). jfxtras-labs-2.2-r6-20150310.090059-448.jar worked for me once I spotted this. And thanks Breser for...

    Sweden

Most CHAdeMOs are payable, main operators are Vattenfall and Fortum, and they charge 3 SEK/min (~0.30 EUR/min), and require RFID or SMS payment (which would require a Swedish SIM). Those that are free would be at car dealers, like Mobility Motors Bromma. Vattenfall say they will launch the app...

    TACC Disabling in Tunnels. Why?

I've been driving through several long tunnels (several miles) using TACC without any issues, so I doubt it the GPS, as it definitely lost signal in those.

Display the Speed Limit data for all cars, not just AP/TACC.

Maybe the US speed limit database is more up to date, or speed limits are changed less frequently, but if I would rely on what the car thinks it knows is the local speed limit I would be driving at the wrong speed quite often, even where it has changed around a year ago or more. It sees the 80...

Parking sensors need replacement but only since 6.1 (2.2.113) failed to update?

It would be a pretty serious bug if you couldn't open a door or check it with the app while it updates, especially since the update may take much longer than the time it says before the update it will take. For me it once said it would take 45 mins and it actually took over two hours, how would...

Adaptive Cruise Control (experience post FW v6.1)

I had this problem too. I was driving today while it was snowing, and when the radar filled up with snow, TACC turned off, and I had no way of turning on any type of cruise control. Stopped and removed the snow, and it worked again for a few kms. Later the temperature was above freezing, and...

    Tesla moments

While plugging in at the Sundsvall SC I see someone being photgraphed in front of my car. I thought it was just someone who thought it would be cool to have a photo of himself and a Tesla. Turns out I was the first one to use it, and the local newspaper was doing a story about the new chargers...

Reading tire pressures from inside my house!

Isn't 45.6 still more than 45.2 even if the accuracy is +/-1? You can still see that it went down approximately 0.4 psi, but you still only know that the pressure is somewhere between 44.2 and 46.2 psi if it changed from 45.6 to 45.2 (given that the accuracy is accurate).

Autopilot requires Tech Package or not?

It's the same for me, added autopilot and as I had parking sensors ordered my DS confirmed that the price stays the same. This is for a car that is already in transit to Europe, so it seems to be only a software unlock.

Speed Assist and Lane Departure Warning

They're not required in Europe by law, but in order to get five stars in Euro NCAP you need a good score in each Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection, Pedestrian Protection and Safety Assist, so I assume this is to improve the score in the Safety Assist part.
