Wiki Sudden Loss Of Range With 2019.16.x Software

I lost about 40 miles of range on my pre-facelift S90D. Remote S and TM-Spy both reported the battery capacity as 70 kWh. Took it in to service twice and was told there is nothing wrong with the battery. They said to let the battery fall below 40% before charging and it should correct it. I did...

    Non-existent Customer Service

My experience with Tesla has been terrible from day one. Delayed delivery due to hood damage in transit, defective battery at delivery, no record made of goodwill service that was promised, long lead times for parts and service, denial of battery issues, terrible communication. I got rid of my...

    Tesla 8.0 Autopilot experience Poll

Autosteer is significantly worse with my car now. I went from not having to override Autosteer at all on my morning commute to having to override it about 4 times, and it is losing the lane markings where it previously never did.

I sometimes can't pull the charger wand out of the port...

I didn't figure this out until this past weekend: If you hold down the button on the connector, it will remain unlocked (white) until you pull the connector out. This was after fighting with the car for 3 for 4 button presses and not being able to pull the connector out in time.

Charging: Reported consumption vs. meter reading

This may not be your case, but our utility will sometimes estimate the usage (and not read the meter) and bill us for the month based on the estimate. It will correct itself the next time they actually read the meter. Again, it may not be what is happening in your case, but a possibility.

    Is Auto-pilot harsh on brakes?

I'm inclined to think that Autopilot and TACC use the friction brakes more than necessary. I've developed way more brake dust on this car's wheels than I ever did on my Volt. I can even hear the brake pedal move when it is applying the brakes.

15kw Solar System with Solar Hot Water?

A couple of years ago, we had Guardian Solar do our system at our house in Orlando. We have a 10kW microinverter system and it cost $22500 before the Duke Energy rebate. We have a couple of friends who have also used them and have gotten similar or cheaper prices. Duke is no longer doing the...

    Deciding on air suspension

If I back into my driveway, the air suspension is useful to me. However, I don't use the adjustment that often, and a higher ride height feels counterintuitively rougher. As some others mentioned, the air suspension sits a little lower at its normal setting than the coil suspension, so maybe if...

X owner claims unintended acceleration caused accident

I'm pretty sure the pedal does not move with the TACC. I have to press the pedal varying amounts depending on the speed to smoothy transition out of TACC. I wouldn't have to press the pedal if it was already depressed by TACC according to the speed.

Anyone Tried Solar Trickle Charging 12v Battery?

I was looking for someone who has a little expertise on the electrical system of the car. I'm thinking a simple diode isolation will protect the solar panel, and a relay tied to a 12v circuit that open when the DC-DC converter comes on would protect the DC-DC converter.

    Anomalous 12 V maintenance?

There are several factors that could affect the voltage, and without knowing more details of the electrical system, it is hard to say what specifically caused it. Based on the rising voltage and declining power, I would suspect that the 12v may have been abnormally low at the start of the cycle...

    Anomalous 12 V maintenance?

If you think of the 12v battery as a resistor, then the inverse voltage relation makes sense. Initially, you want to charge the 12v battery quickly, which requires a higher voltage in order to increase the current into the battery. As the battery condition reaches fully charged, you want the...

Did those who ordered the Accessory Hitch, get that or actually a REAL Towing Package?

Bumps in the road would've already been taken into consideration when they stated the 120 pound capacity of the receiver. On top of that, I'm sure there is considerable margin built into that number.

Anyone Tried Solar Trickle Charging 12v Battery?

Hi everyone, I'm thinking that maybe it is possible to reduce the vampire load by using one of those solar panels you can get for a car to trickle charge the 12v battery. They cannot be left plugged in while a traditional car is running. I know it is fairly easy to mitigate this with a relay in...

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

The Magnuson-Moss warranty act generally covers you for the installation of aftermarket accessories. This is the same act that is cited by car stereo shops as to why they can install radios aftermarket. This act is intended to put the burden of proof on the warrantor to provide evidence that the...
