    Roadster PEM failure

@gfs I've seen the problems removing the caps from the boards in the Gruber videos, but I've a lot of experience in soldering. Many thanks for the info!

    Roadster PEM failure

What capacitors are used in the PEMs, anyone has info about V, uF, Dimensions, or a link to a direct replacement type?

Battery Cooling - t min / t max in Service Menu

Yes, thanks guys, I will contact the SC again. As I mentioned, I know that before the battery maintenance this difference was not more than 1C regardless if the AC kicks in or the coolant pump was running for its own. What is also interesting, though Tave=36C and Tmax=40C, the coolant pump...

Battery Cooling - t min / t max in Service Menu

My battery was serviced and got new contactors. After driving home from the SC I plugged the car in for charging and cooling down the battery. In the Service Menu I noticed, there was a difference of 5 to 10 degrees between t min and t max of the bricks. This difference was around 1 degree...

    brake pad service limits?

I've the CT AX6 pads on my Roadster for over one year now with the original stock rotors. I'm wondering why but the original stock rotors never got rusty again, even now when the car is parked for several weeks and the snow is melting, checked it yesterday, no rust, no rust for over one year on...

DMC FW: Battery Under Voltage fault, PEM Vbat different from BSM Vbat warning

A Short Update: After several trips with hard accelerations and approx. 200 km of driving everything seems to work normally, no further error messages. I haven't checked all Logs since I'm taking them, but it seems the ESS Voltage falls below 300 V for the very first time, never saw this before.

DMC FW: Battery Under Voltage fault, PEM Vbat different from BSM Vbat warning

Last weekend my Roadster alerted Fault during acceleration and switched off motor torque, luckily the car kept rolling until I found a way off the street. Several error codes were displayed, SOC were at 63%, (see photo from the log): 1067 - Debug: DMC FW: Battery Under Voltage warning. Torque...

Tesla Roadster PEM Tech Tip Alert

@racevpr Did you also test ceramic insulating pads for the IGBTs? From the net I found the hint, that IXGK120N60B IGBTs are used, which are obsolete today. These IGBTs have an Ucesat of approx. 2.1V. Have you tried other similiar types with lower Ucesat (found some types with approx. 1.2V)...

    Contact address for Roadster Logs

I'm not sure what is going over the air. Didn't know the com module was installed into 2.5 version only. But I never read about this is used for alerting the owner itself. Maybe there's a difference between US and European Roadsters? I read from other (European) Roadster owners, that they were...

    Contact address for Roadster Logs

The different format makes sense, and of course, anything else than a database storing their log data would not be practical. Now I remember one additional thing one technician told me - he has no access to the log files, but he can query data for me if I want to know something specific...

    Contact address for Roadster Logs

@ecarfan and @supersnoop Are you sure you are correct because the info with the montly upload I got from a Tesla technician? And over a year ago a technician checked the logs of my car, they were already uploaded on the US server. The technician also told me, that he cannot get the logs in the...

    Contact address for Roadster Logs

@supersnoop You're wrong. As long as your Roadster is under warranty Tesla takes the logs of your car over the air monthly. That's what the data connection is used for. In my case a Tesla technician told me, the logs are on a server somewhere at Tesla US, so I would need someone who is able to...

Thanks BartJ, I already tried this, they said they can't.

    Contact address for Roadster Logs

Does anybody have a contact address of a technician who could be able to send me some Logfiles of my Roadster ? I'm missing the first 5000 km in my Roadsters history. The technicians in Europe say these Logfiles are available on an American server, but they have no access to it.

TSC told me "No more loaner Model S cars for Roadster owners"

Last time when my Roadster was in for repairs, I got a P85 for 5 days, which the SC had to rent itself by a nearby car rent (the SC had no loaners left) - TOP :D - Greetings to Graz!

    Log Parsing tool available

Thanks Mark! My intention to write a parser was to have the same graphical log parser on Windows and Mac, should also run on Linux (I'm using Java and SWT). And yes, Toms commandline parser shows a lot more information than the graphical parsers do, so that was another reason :).

    Log Parsing tool available

Nothing specific at the moment. In my spare time I'm writing a Log parser with GUI too, just for fun. So that's why I'm interested in the format but if there's no interest at all I may ask you via mail for some details from time to time.

    Roadster Don'ts

I have to say the repair of my Roadster happend 2 weeks ago, didn't move the car in winter from december to april. Maybe I got the motor which was reserved for you :D.

    Roadster Don'ts

@Gizmo74 It took a little bit over 3 months to get the gearbox from USA, it was ordered in the 1st week of September and arrived in the 2nd week of December. Was wondering that there's no gearbox available in Europe though we have around 1000 Roadsters on our continent . The motor...

    Roadster Don'ts

Exactly, didn't know the correct word in English, it's a Kick plate. Here is one video of this Kick plate my instructor made: Another impression, this exercise really made fun :D: @wiztecy Never hit anything with my rear wheels. Was astonished too when I heard from the Tesla technician that...

    Roadster Don'ts

I want to share my experience of a drivers training with my Roadster, so that you don't make the same mistake I did. Last autumn I made a personal training with my Roadster. One exercise was to pass a spinning plate and to try to get your spinning car back under control. The area behind the...

    Roadster 3.0

CAC value of 214 is interesting. The new battery cells are LG HG2 which have a nominal capacity of 3000 mAh. If Tesla has replaced all old cells 1 by 1 with the new ones, there are still 69 cells in a brick which means an Ah value of 207 = CAC. Maybe the LG HG2 cells are a little bit better...

BSM Contactor failure - unable to charge...

@Alexandersims Did your trick today, it worked after several attemps. After approx. 5 min the PEM had arround 38 C and the motor 18 C. My 2.5 European Roadster is sitting in the garage since beginning of December. I try to keep the SOC between 40 - 60 percent, so I'm charging the Roadster every...

Replacing incandescent bulbs with cool LED alternatives?

As announced here are few photos of my modifications, the LEDs in the turning signal are working perfectly  There was no space inside the socket for the resistor, so I placed it outside, had to solder the wire beside the red cable only, the other one is just plugged in. Closed...

Replacing incandescent bulbs with cool LED alternatives?

Your parking lights clear covering already melted? That's why I've already replaced anything I could with LEDs, parking, license plate, trunk and interiour lights. Was inspired by the trunk light melted thread to do so. And for the turning signal, well everybody has to decide this on his own...

Replacing incandescent bulbs with cool LED alternatives?

I know these adapters, one of my LEDs I tested had such an adapter included. The problem is with this adapter a lot of energy is wasted and converted into heat, that's why this big heat sink is on. The adapter I tested looks like the same but had only about 6.3 Ohms and draw 1900mA on its own...

Replacing incandescent bulbs with cool LED alternatives?

I tried AFTERPARTZ 2*CREE XB-D Amber Light 80W LEDs but got hyper flashing and errors too. Each of these LEDs draw 410mA at 12V. With a parallel resistor starting at 100 Ohms and below it worked, no hyper flash and errors anymore. So it seems the minimum current to keep the Roadsters...

Is there a My Tesla page for the Roadster on TeslaMotors.com ?

Better not, because I think the guy would believe, I want to make a reservation of a Model X . Nr. 2 - very nice Bonnie. So both of your cars are white or is it every car at the My Tesla page in general?

Is there a My Tesla page for the Roadster on TeslaMotors.com ?

Hm, one guy in the Vienna SeC told me the My Tesla page is for Model S owners only . So maybe I should write to Tesla USA directly to get an entry .

    Roadster 3.0

Interesting to read that Roadster 1.5 owners do not get the battery upgrade. I'm a Roadster 2.5 owner from Europe, but I do not make use of the new upgrade now because I've only 12000 miles on my battery pack. As mentioned in this thread Tesla should not forget the Roadster owners, especially...
