Confused about my max range, given my current charge state

It doesn't mean that people are going to drive to 0 every time. For me, it's just more useful to have a combination of battery % and projected range. It's mainly personal, but just having a battery percentage doesn't mean i'll drive to 0. Rated miles is similar, but instead of using 100% i...

Confused about my max range, given my current charge state

Totally agree on the SOC display instead of miles. At least give the user the option to select how they want to calculate their capacity.

Tesla Supercharger Points Surpass CHAdeMO In North America

I just saw this article today. Just wondering how this impacts CHAdeMO adaptor purchases in NA. Is it even worth getting one anymore? Or should we wait for the Supercharger system to become more robust? Tesla Supercharger Points Surpass CHAdeMO In North America

Change in air suspension setting with 21" wheel

I had the same questions when i purchased my car. Unfortunately to prevent Tesla from being too involved, in case they didn't really support aftermarket rims, I purchased the 21's to prevent any issues. I'd also like to know the answer to this in case it comes in handy in the future.

    DOME Lights: Not LED?

I agree, I personally like the white LEDs. These new ones makes it feel outdated like old interior dome lights. =(

Opticoat Pro @ Distinctiv Detailing in the Bay Area

At first I wasn't really convinced that Opticoat was worth it. After reading the forums and looking at youtube videos, i decided to make the leap. Distinctiv Detailing was a reference from many people on this site as well as a personal friend. As for the results, they speak for themselves. Just...

    Aftermarket Wheels Disadvantages

Here are some personal experiences from my recent aftermarket install. I decided to keep the stock P85+ staggered sizes so, 245/45 in front and 265/35 in the back. Here are some things i ran into and experienced: 1. You will need to either buy or install existing TPMS sensors. The new sensors...

Performance Plus Expense and Confort 16k Miles a Year

Coming from a P85+ owner, i'd say save the extra money and get yourself a P85. There's really no need for the "extra handling characteristics". I'm in no way a professional, but in my experience from track days, I feel this car is best used for commuting and not made for the track. I've recently...

Awful NOISE when not moving and Pushing on BRAKES

I do hear the noise, and unfortunately, I agree with you and that the noise is unacceptable. In any other $130k+ car, you don't hear strange noises like that regardless. In most Mercedes S Classes, you don't even hear much of the engine while idle, so that makes this even more annoying. From...

    Show off your aftermarket wheels.

Thanks! A contact of mine helped me purchase the rims. After tires, new TPC sensors, mounting and balancing it came out to about almost $8000. They're 21inch, and i kept the stock staggered of 265/35 for the back and 245/35 for the front. I used Continental ContiSport 5P tires.

Simple and Cheap Interior LED Upgrade

Thanks for the information on the bulbs! I replaced all my foot well with these new ones and it gives a really cool lighting effect a night. I did get the premium LED lighting and personally i think this solution is a lot better. I'll share some pictures later tonight.

    Model S required hard reset

Do all your settings go away, like Homelink, memory seats, etc... I would assume it does.

built in exta mileage with in the battery?

I would like to have the projected range displayed on the dash instead of the screen though. Unfortunately, it seems like Tesla removed that option.

    Brake booster "proactive repair"?

This is good news! I'm hoping it's related to the ticking issue on my car. Only thing is, I didn't receive an email yet. =(
  33. franknesss

built in exta mileage with in the battery?

This sort of makes me wonder why Tesla just doesn't go with a battery percentage to display how much is capacity is left, and use the calculated projected range to show range. This way the battery percentage will match the projected range, based off your driving style. jvon, were you able to...

    Blank screen when in reverse.

My car behaves the same. Like a few other members here, I drive with the backup cam on top. It is a bit annoying when backing into our garage and the screen goes blank due to the Homelink system. We have a Gate and a 2 Garage links, so the drop down covers quite a bit.
