    Supercharger - Quanah, TX

I drive this way from Dallas to/from Santa Fe every 4 weeks or so with my dogs and I agree this new location will be a welcome addition on 287. My 2017 Model X P100D has borderline range issues in the winter driving this route to the mountains when temps are low and headwinds work against us...

Model X 2019 Pre-Raven EPA compared with current version?

My 2017 Model X P100DL was EPA rated for 289 miles. I now get around 270 miles on a full charge. So after 3 years and 63,000 miles, I’ve lost about 19 miles.

Elon tweets "no waypoints", "car will autonavigate to your destination."

@bhzmark Interesting! My Navigon iPad app flags all known speed zone cameras, which is helpful.

Elon tweets "no waypoints", "car will autonavigate to your destination."

@Battpower I frequently use my iPad on the center console of my X for that very reason. It provides much of the missing functionality, such as weather RADAR, Navigon waypoint navigation and destination info at the tap of a logo icon. Navigon allows me to navigate to an interim destination...

@supratachophobia Thank you, all we can do is keep providing Elon and team suggestions until they get it. I have confidence we shall prevail! :-)

Elon tweets "no waypoints", "car will autonavigate to your destination."

My last 4 cars before my first Model X were all Ford Escape Hybrids with the Ford Navigation. For nav system reference, I owned a 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012, all with OEM nav system and data from SiriusXM. Several things that Tesla is missing that I loved about that nav system are: 1...

    2019 model x shows 328 miles

@irvineboy To give you some perspective, my 2017 Model X P100DL+ was EPA rated at 289 miles of range at 100%. The other 100KW variant that year was the 2017 Model X 100D was EPA rated at 294 miles. After more than 3 years and 60,000 miles, I now get 273 miles at 100%, a loss of 16 miles of...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

@kdday Did you have to replace your HW2 cameras when you did your upgrade, since they aren’t color cameras?

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

Great detail! Thanks for your insight and post. Your post gives me hope on a solution fo the FM/XM radio problem on upgrade. I paid $2,500 for the upgrade specifically to get XM radios when I bought my MX in 2017 and it seems ridiculous to pay an additional $2,500 for an upgraded MCU only to...

Quick Review of TopFit Wireless Phone Charger for Model X & S

I just wanted to share a quick review of the TopFit Wireless Phone Charger for the Tesla Model X and Model S. I have typically used the Tesla charger that came with the X for my iPhone X but really wanted a clean, professional looking wireless option. I have been very impressed with TopFit’s...

Vendor Greetings TMC from Quality One Mobile Wheel Repair

I went to Santa Fe, NM for the holidays and managed to scrape one of my wheels on the stone curbs near the Plaza. When I got back to Dallas, I called Jon and his team met me to repair my wheel. In very short order, they had my Model X wheels looking brand new! Great option for wheel repair in...

    Autopilot Fail

Hiroshiy... I have firmware version 2018.4.1 in my X and I still occasionally have the problem when cresting a hill or going into a dip. It's not nearly as bad s it used to be.

    Need Help Outwitting Homelink

@boaterva What matters is WHEN you use HomeLink manually. If you use it after you put the car in DRIVE or REVERSE, it will not automatically close the door. If you need to open the garage door to leave, use HomeLink BEFORE you put the car in DRIVE or REVERSE. Hope this helps!
  17. Craig-Y

    Need Help Outwitting Homelink

Yes, thats exactly my experience except I back into the garage. I should have used DRIVE/REVERSE instead of just DRIVE in my notes. Working flawlessly for me and I’m on software version 50.3

    Next Supercharger in Texas?

For those of us that drive Dallas to Amarillo and points west, Wichita Falls would be a great addition to the Supercharger network. I have a Model X P100D and I drove from Dallas to Santa Fe for Christmas. Denton to Childress is over 200 miles and in 15-20 degree temps driving into a 40mph...

    Need Help Outwitting Homelink

I can’t speak for all owners but I finally figured out how HomeLink works in my Model X. MOST of th issues I was having, I inadvtantly caused myself by interrupting the Tesla sequences for HomeLink. You guys have described exactly the problems I was having. Here are my observations: 1...

    Supercharger - Augusta GA

I hope the rumors are true because the staff at the Hilton Garden Inn use the Superchargers for employee parking and are rude if you ask about it. They even had a security guard watching to make sure that their ICE vehicles weren’t bothered by Tesla owners trying to charge. I have charged in...

    EVGo and Blink

Pipci Pipcecil! Great information that explains a lot of what I experienced. Also, I wanted to mention that ChargePoint does have a DC Fast Charger in Austin. I have used it several times with my Model X. It is only $2.00 per hour and depending on when you get there, parking can be free...

    EVGo and Blink

Graffiti! I completely agree with you. My time is much better spent ANYPLACE other than on a Level 2 charger, especially at premium rates! My home charging is very inexpensive at less than $0.08 per KWh but when I travel for work and want to drive I am occasionally forced to deal with...

    EVGo and Blink

It’s great to see other EV drivers are sharing the love! I have always used the ChargePoint app to start my charging sessions so I wasn’t even aware they had a card. You your point about Blink stations being out of service, I reported one to Blink in October (and 3 times since!) because it had...

    EVGo and Blink

Yes, ChargePoint has been great! I used the Fast DC charger they installed on Electric Avenue in Austin. I was fully charged in no time. Agree completely that Superchargers are Tesla’s advantage now. It really is the investment that no one is giving Tesla credit for.
  25. Craig-Y

    EVGo and Blink

Traveling recently, I had the “opportunity” to use non-Tesla charging solutions since no Tesla charging stations were available in the immediate area. Let’s just say that it reaffirmed my gratitude for home charging and the Tesla Supercharger network. A lot of analysts keep harping on how much...

    Supercharger - Austin, TX

I will be in Austin on business this weekend. I have a CHADMO adapter and I have used the Electric Avenue DC quick charger several times. It’s about 75-80% the speed of a Supercharger. Message me if you want to borrow my adapter.

    Software Update 17.17.4

On my way from South Carolina to Illinois today and as I was getting ready this morning I received the notice that a firmware update was available. I delayed my departure to install v17.17.4. Trade in X to Tesla for X when will I get estimate?

bikeandsail... I just did what you are thinking about doing. I traded my 2016 Model X P90D in on a Model X P100D. The entire process was done over the phone since I was out of the country when I placed the order and live over 100 miles from the nearest service center. On the initial call...

Any recommendations for quieter tires for Model X P90D?

I traded my Model X P90D with Michelin tires in on a Model X P100D with Continental Silent tires. I was astounded at the difference! Best sound dampening tires I have ever had. They have a foam liner that dampens the road noise but which can complicate tire repairs. Regardless, I love the...

Lacking AP2 and more questions MX P100D

I, too, traded my MX P90DL in on a clone MX P100D. I put about 20,000 miles on my P90D of which about 90% was on autopilot (v1 hardware). Since I picked up my P100D on February 17th, I have driven almost 5,000 miles but unlike my last X, I have only been able to drive about 50 miles on...

I picked up my Model X P90DL with 20" stock wheels on April 29th and after trips to Charlotte, Atlanta, Bloomington, St. Louis, Nashville, Hilton Head, and Dallas (+/- 9,000 miles) I have averaged 353 Wh/mile from delivery till today.

Significant Reduction to 2016 US SuperCharger Installs?

TexasEV! Yes, hopefully they just posted the wrong map. Kind of like the email I got saying that my Model X has been built and will be delivered this month when my DS confirmed its still in production... :-) Give my regards to MOPAC! I miss Austin but not the commute.

Interesting! I went to wayback.org to get the previous map and then when I went to the current map, it was exactly the same! :) I swear no alcohol was consumed in the posting of this thread! :) I may not have waited long enough for the map to have populated when I clicked on 2016. I will...

Significant Reduction to 2016 US SuperCharger Installs?

Yes but earlier in the week, there were significantly more (estimate 20-25%). I have been watching it closely since I take I20 from SC to TX and it had been slated to be covered by years end. Now it is no longer on the 2016 map at all. I will try to find an earlier map for comparison.

Significant Reduction to 2016 US SuperCharger Installs?

Did anyone happen to notice that 2016 Supercharger coverage map on Tesla's website was updated yesterday? 2016 installs significantly reduced from previous map.

Low VIN - Worries over delay?

Your Model X is almost here email

I received the same email. It arrived a day after my "My Tesla" page had been updated to show estimated deliver of 15-29 MAR 2016. Since I had heard nothing from my DS and since he has basically told me to ignore anything I see on my "My Tesla" page, I sent him a copy. Today he writes and...

Luddite Award finalist: Texas, New Jersey, Arizona, Michigan - please help them win

Ok, I voted for these states to get the Luddite Award! I agree with bollar. Texas' law isn't new but it did serve as the basis for excluding Tesla vehicles from the list of EV and alternative fuel vehicles eligible for a Texas $2,500 incentive for reduced emissions. Somehow, the Texas Auto...

2015 Texas Legislative Session Discussion Thread

Picking up Model X at Tesla Factory in Freemont, CA

HillCountryFun! I will keep you posted. Thanks for the input. I spoke with Tesla and it looks like I will pick up the Model X in Scottsdale, AZ and then visit some friends in San Diego and L.A. before heading to Freemont for the tour. It will save me about 3.75% in taxes (CA vs. TX). Thanks...

Mulling idea of factory car pickup (Feb 15)-does that affect Colorado sales tax, etc?

eco5280...! Although I agree that it totally sucks that you cant pick up at factory without paying California taxes, I spoke with Tesla and have tentatively made plans to pick up my Model X outside of California and then drive to the factory for the tour. I am a Texas resident and our tax rate...
