The need for Range mode is quickly becoming less necessary. It was originally designed to help one's range, but as the number of Superchargers increases, the need to save/gain 3 or so miles of range is not needed. I have had y car for just about 2 yrs, live in CT and I have never used Range mode.

Excellent news. When I took delivery of my car in Mar 2014, there were only 3 SC locations in ALL of New England. Now with this site up and running, the total is now 14.

Actually Costco is much closer to these chargers than Macys is at the Auburn Mall. Either way, it gives us another option.

andydoty, you should receive an e-mail from Tesla. However you will undoubtedly here about it here first. Auburn was up and running at least for 1-2 days before it made it to Tesla's website.

Actually now that I think about it, I think the property owners are the ones who can put those signs up, if they choose too. I don't believe local laws have anything to do with it. Technically it is "private" property. If you are not on the property to buy something, then the property owners...

roby, that would work, if local laws allow such. At least here in CT, the signs don't say "Your car will be towed". So you can't legally haul away someone's car. All you can do is call Tesla and they in turn call the property owners.

Oh certainly. I would never just charge to 44 miles to go 44 miles. I would add at least 20%. I am just trying to make the point that distance is measured in miles not kWhs. So seeing how many miles have been added and how fast, is more relatable than kWhs.

Though the MPH rate one is getting from the charger is just an estimate, it is far more relatable than the kWh rate. Meaning, our destinations are measured in miles away not kWh. I don't know how many kilowatts away my house is from Auburn, but I do know it's 44 miles. So on a return trip...
