    2010 Roadster 2.5 - vin 1135 68k miles - $62.5k

Summers coming, anyone want to give 1135 a home where it will be more than a garage queen/trophy? It’s a fantastic car, but I can’t use it enough to justify hanging on to it.

    2010 Roadster 2.5 - vin 1135 68k miles - $62.5k

Sale pending at $55,000 as of 2/11/20. For other Roadster owners reference, I listed it on auto trader on 1/25/20 for $58,983. I got about 4 inquiries off the ad, two of which were very serious and negotiated on price. One never replied to my initial email response. The fourth wasn't ready to...

    2010 Roadster 2.5 - vin 1135 68k miles - $62.5k

The 3.0 upgrade is currently unavailable from Tesla as far as I know. I have to hope/think that they will eventually come out with a replacement battery option for the roadsters again otherwise they are all going to be unusable eventually -- unless someone outside Tesla figures out how to hand...

    2010 Roadster 2.5 - vin 1135 68k miles - $62.5k

Tesla is offering $46,800 as a trade-in (or cash purchase). Anyone interested in offering somewhere between Telsa's number and my asking price ($62,500)?

    Pioneer AVIC-8000NEX in a 2.5 Roadster

I don't know the answer, but am going to research it to find out. My factory Alpine unit is dying, and I like the features of this Pioneer. I'm also hoping to get better info on Alpine's models that are coming out that support CarPlay as well before I make an upgrade choice.

    #1124 - Red - Seattle - Salvage Auction [SOLD]

The ending just got happier! Yesterday I dropped #1135 off for service in Seattle. As I pulled in, I was surprised to see #1124 in there as well. For privacy reasons I won't comment on the new owner or plans, but I think the end of this story looks like 1124 is not lost!

    Get Amped Tour: Seattle, 7/6 - 7/8

I thought Tesla did a pretty good job of route selection given what they had to work with in Seattle: 1. Mercer street exit on I-5 was closed this weekend (at least Saturday afternoon, pretty sure all weekend). Traffic on I-5 was a mess (stop and go) when I went down to Tesla for my test...

    #1124 - Red - Seattle - Salvage Auction [SOLD]

I just picked up #1135 (11 vins newer than my first car). It's fusion red. It arrived in Seattle today from Newport Beach. Tesla was amazingly helpful in getting the replacement. Carl Medlock (head of West coast service and Seattle service), Troy Jones (now at Santana Row) who sold me 1124...

    #1124 - Red - Seattle - Salvage Auction [SOLD]

It had fairly new winter tires (front and rear replaced early this year. I was slightly accelerating, but the real problem was the last minute offset maneuver to lane change to the right. Unfortunately I believe the rear tires were on the wet white paint (exit V) when I turned left to...

You a pilot too? I compare my Roadster to my kit built airplane a lot.... State Farm took great care of me. I bought another Roadster and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival to Seattle, hopefully in the next couple days. My wife and I also stopped by Tesla Bellevue this evening to see the...

    #1124 - Red - Seattle - Salvage Auction [SOLD]

$97k+ in parts needed to repair, and that's assuming that the battery isn't damaged (which I believe it could be). Short answer for how: spin the car 360 degrees in the wet in Seattle hitting a concrete barrier with the rear end. Then hit 4" or so rough rocks on the left side of the offramp...

    Final Payment

I made the last portion of payment at the time of delivery. I believe I could have paid only the $9900 deposit up front and then the balance on delivery day. But I was taking delivery at the Seattle store.

    Charging Infrastructure

Nice! I had my roadster up at Stevens Pass back in December. I wondered at the time if it might have been the first time an EV had been taken up there to go skiing. While the round trip was just doable on a full charge, it will be nice to be able to plug in up there while skiing in the future...

    2.5 Upgraded Electronics (Alpine) Bluetooth

I don't mind pluggingy iPhone 4 in everytime I get in the car, but a nice slide in dock would be kind of cool. I can't figure out who is at fault, but I sometimes have to unplug/replug the phone or power cycle the alpine unit to get USB audio from the phone. I will have to check next time that...

Charging at Campgrounds and RV Parks

It is a great story! I charged until the current began to taper at about 175 ideal miles (std mode), and headed south. 143 actual miles with 203 ideal in range mode available. As I exited the freeway it went from 25 ideal miles to the "---" unknown range. 4 miles later I am plugged into 120v for...

Charging at Campgrounds and RV Parks

It's hard to believe I'm sitting here in Centralia,WA charging at 70 amps/210v at a closed restaurant and paying $0 for it on Christmas Eve. Of course they will get my business everytime they are open and I am driving though. So far so good on my first roadtrip beyond the Roadsters nominal range!

    1124's first 100 miles...

I was thinking just that yesterday. That would be awesome. Say in a year or two year or two from now get a nice power upgrade. 1124's first 100 miles...

First off, let me say the staff at Tesla's Seattle store are really great! Jenny stayed about 20 minutes later than the normal closing time so that I could finish putting out a minor fire at work before picking up my car. From there I headed home (13 miles), then off to my girl friends place...

It looks like John's got most of the details of the car on the history page (http://www.plasmaboyracing.com/history/2010.php). Merits of Conversions

It's hard to say. The real cost of developing the White Zombie has been the thousands of hours of work John, his friends, suppliers and sponsors have put in over the years learning, breaking and blowing stuff up. Audi EV

Wow, that video should be sales material for the roadster. Tesla: $109k, 53kwh, 3.9sec 0-60, 2 seats, 180-240 mile range, available now Audi: $200k, 53khw, 4.8sec 0-60, 2 seats, 150 mile range, maybe someday That's a lot of money for Audi's name, interior and "quattro".

    Charging the Roadster

Interesting clarification Tom. I knew there was nothing illegal about installing a 14-50 in my garage, but because of NEC 625 I wanted to stay away from it being viewed as an EV charging outlet. So I was slightly worried about the inspection sign-off on my NEMA 14-50 I put into the garage. I...

Are you also investing in Tesla?

Fun decisions to have to make! (on color). I didn't meant to sound like I was disagreeing with you.... I don't think manufacturers disclose profit margins on models. It just so happens that with only one model it looks like we can infer some of the numbers for now (and since the company is...
