Falcon Wing Door - Bring it out 1mm on the bottom

Okay so I've sorted my FWD's out myself. I used a low-profile ratched and a Torx-40 to loosen the two bolts that secures the bracket-plate. By moving the bracket left and right, one controls the panel-gap on both sides. By moving the plate inward or outward, one controls how flush the FWD will...

Baltimore Metro: Front tire for a Model X

I just replaced my stock 20" Michelin Lattitude 3's with 20" Pirelli Scorpion Verdes. The Verde has a little bit less dampening of its own than the Lattitude's. But as I drive in Sport mode most of the time anyways, it's not an issue at all, just something I noticed. I'm quite happy with the...

Falcon Wing Door - Bring it out 1mm on the bottom

Hello all, My passenger-side FWD alignment is ok, but what my OCD can't ignore, is that at the very bottom, it should come outward 1 to maybe 2mm to make it really flush with the rest. Looking at the "thing" in the sill where the door "grabs" inside the sill (so to speak), I see a recessed...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Yes it's fixed. Nobody can tell what these new axles will do in the long run but i'm on 7200km with these new babies and they are doing great. Newly produced car's will have the new generation of front axles. If cars that are currently on stock already have them? Maybe, maybe not so ask the...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Pre-Raven has a different front-motor. The shudder was, contrary to Raven, not caused by the half-shafts (they merely got damaged) but by the clevis-mounts. Tesla re-designed the mounts and since then, pre-ravens don't demolish half-shafts anymore. Raven already has the new clevis-mounts but had...

Sorry no. I normally received the bill after a repair (even if under warranty) via Email but not this time. Asked for it but received nothing so far. I also did not receive the usual post-service-customer-satisfaction survey Email (and I'm really satisfied about this repair ;-)

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Apparently, Tesla could not develop a good product with the "old" manufacturer so they went to somebody else. The same happened with the FWD mechanism during the development phase. Supplier A did a bad job so Tesla started doing business with supplier B so to speak. Happens all the time in the...

    "Raven" Shudder

Likely because there where still plenty of "previous version" shafts on stock which needed to get rid of first. The new shaft variant is really "hot off the press" from what I understand.

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Update on my original start-topic in this Thread: I had both front drive-shafts replaced yesterday. Car has a little over 24000km on it since January and it was not worth changing them until now because they would simply mount the old, flawed design which shudders just the same. Waste of time...

Another reason why Tesla is miles off full self driving

Yeah but what bothers me is what I wrote here: "Even if the car does not understand what that "thing below the stoplight" is, the radar should have picked it up, understand the collision-course and steer clear of it" This functionality should have been there from day one. But apparently it still...

Another reason why Tesla is miles off full self driving

Was driving towards a roadworks the other day on a wide country road. Only 1 lane open, the others being repaved etc. To prevent cars, which have to share the same single lane from both directions crashing head on, they use mobile stopsigns that stand on the tarmac against the curb. The...

Drivetrain needs service, please dont’t accelerate too fast.

Not serious enough to be worried about it. Make a Service-appointment via the app. Keep driving but avoid flooring it. Accelerate normally and you’ll be fine. It‘s only a „yellow“ alert a.k.a it’s a warning. Fatal issues are red. Ludicrous launches put an enormous strain on the driveline. Image...

    Spontaneous windshield crack?

Oh it is a defect for sure. What I meant with „normal“ is that it happens a lot. I drove Audi, Peugeot, Volkswagen and Mercedes before 2014 when I got my first Tesla and it happened to me several times over 25 years of driving. I drive 50000+ km per year on average. And it always happened to me...

No. According to my information, All models since 2018 (MCU2) use the same Atom E3800 series CPU and Intel Apollo Lake system-on-chip. Re-setting or Re-calibrating Falcon Doors

It **CAN** involve full-movement. Personally I only saw them move a few inches but my personal experience does not mean it cannot behave otherwise (like in your case). I guess it depends on the actuators that need re-calibrating.

Model X Brake Hold While on Incline Works Differently Than ICE

Why can‘t you two-foot? It‘s not different from driving up/down a rrrrrealy steep incline. I don‘t see what the problem is. The car will bitch about it but who cares.

Model X Brake Hold While on Incline Works Differently Than ICE

That 1100kg trailer I was hauling, was a real dog and really pushed the car back down the incline, nose first. Using two pedals really does help in such cases. The switch between „gas“ and brake is instant and always faster than lettting one pedal go and depressing the other, no matter how...

Model X Brake Hold While on Incline Works Differently Than ICE

I don‘t understand what the commotion is all about. Since I got the X in January, I‘ve towed a 700kg trailer with a motorbike on it and a long two-axle 1100kg trailer with many bags of garden-earth (wife garden project) and had to back up both on an incline (and steer into a corner after a few...

    Calling all 2018 - 2019 100D MX - What's your range?

That is not an easy question to asnwers as it differs per pack. TeslaBjörn found the number for the Model 3 with a specific pack and posted it on youtube. It‘s not about the number of times one superchargers but about how much energy was transferred in total. After X kW ingested above a certain...

No 225 kw charging with v2020.24.6

150 SC‘s are V2. I get around 145 at those. The new 225 is in conjunction with V3 SC‘s which are very different from V2‘s anyway. Different architecture. by the way, a „pretty empty“ battery cannot charge at very high speeds yet until it reaches around 15 or 20-ish percent. The BMS prevents it...
