    spare tire

I had the added bonus of having to worry about my battery pack discharging when I was towed. I was down below 20 miles of range (I was driving directly home on a long road trip when I had the blow out) and I had to coordinate with the local tire shop to be sure they would plug it in for me once...

    Ability to avoid rollover?

Also, shouldn't the Semi (and all 18 wheelers) be designed to automatically disconnect if the trailer rotates to a point of no return where the cab would follow it in the roll?

    Ability to avoid rollover?

Due to the low center gravity that is inherent in Teslas (with the battery pack being close to the ground), I wonder how often we will see this once the Semi has been rolled out. Also, what could be done (practically) to avoid the trailer from being the culprit in the future? Put an extended...

    Diversity/Harrassment Issues at Tesla?

This looks serious and I hope it is handled appropriately. Harassment, in general, should never be condoned. Tesla sexual harassment lawsuits multiply as 6 more women sue Musk-led firm

    spare tire

I bought one from Modern Spare (for an S) after having a blow-out 10 miles from home. It's definitely a donut, but if it can get me there without a tow, it will be worth it.

    Supercharger - Madison Heights, VA

I live fairly close to this one, it is convenient from 29. It's interesting that Sheetz decided to put another SuC so close to the one near the Lynchburg airport though. Having both will distribute the load between the two I guess, which will be a good thing. The one near the airport is...

Tesla Adds "Superchargers Open to Non-Tesla" to Map

This definitely highlights another missed opportunity to standardize on something (where the plug should be). This is going to cause confusion for the other manufacturers' car owners when they charge at a SuperCharger and will be frustrating for the Tesla owners that may see an open spot only...

Blog Musk Says Cyberquad Will Be ‘Least Dangerous ATV’

We have one of the late model Ranger UTV EVs (runs on lead acid batteries). It's smaller than our gas powered 700, but for two people, there's plenty of room. The range isn't fantastic, I would say it's at/around 20 miles on a full charge. The quiet operation is awesome though.

Would you charge off-peak hours if Tesla offered a discounted rate?

Are there any other creative solutions out there beside just discounting the rate for off-peak?

Would you charge off-peak hours if Tesla offered a discounted rate?

It's great to have that option. Unfortunately, you are in the minority, currently. It is great that you are minimizing your transportation carbon footprint, kudos!
  12. swengl

Would you charge off-peak hours if Tesla offered a discounted rate?

This is, unfortunately, true. Many landlords don't see the value in the potential competitive advantage that they could have by offering the ability to charge within the condo/apartment complex. I'm hoping that will change as the nation transitions to more sustainable transportation and it...

Would you charge off-peak hours if Tesla offered a discounted rate?

They should be charging non-Teslas a small premium to cover the cost of deploying/managing the number of new stalls that they are planning to deploy (and maybe make a modest amount of revenue, as well). It would just be another (albeit small) benefit of buying a Tesla and using the...

Would you charge off-peak hours if Tesla offered a discounted rate?

In the earnings call, it was stated that "The company is also focused on lowering Supercharging time, and rolling out strategies like encouraging owners to charge their vehicles in off-peak hours." I'm assuming this means a lower rate for off-peak charging (possible free SuC in the dead of...

Range predictions and sleeping in a Cybertruck

Musk hasn't completely ruled out the ability to open up the cabin to the Vault, has he? If not, think of the arrangement where you have the Vault closed and the back window/partition open where you could pump the Vault with HVAC from the cabin. In regards to outlets, won't the CT have...

Range predictions and sleeping in a Cybertruck

I guess they are trying to encourage Ford to "do the right thing" and put the majority of their R&D into EVs and other low/zero emission alternatives to ICE vehicles. I agree though, traditional ICE manufacturers are getting a light touch in critical reviews. VW acting altruistic is truly a...

Range predictions and sleeping in a Cybertruck

While it will be true that the CT uses more energy than the other Tesla models, it shouldn't take longer to charge it. Although we haven't seen a production vehicle that is using the 4680 cells, the tab-less design of the 4680 indicates that charging should be much faster (lower resistance for...

Supercharger - Charlottesville, VA - Proffit Road

The other SuperCharger in Charlottesville should be up and running if the Proffit Rd one is not online, for some reason. There are a few restaurants (including Duck Donuts!) within walking distance of the Bond St. charger. The Bond Street charger is NOT a 250 kW charger, however.

    Storage in "Sail Pillars"?

The sail pillar storage could be a good place to stash the extra solar panels for the CT to get the charge rate up to/over 45 miles/day :) . Or, someone could design a custom toolbox that can secure frequently used tools that will raise up when you open the SPH (sail pillar hatch).

Any chance for a sunroof option?

There were a ton of folks that had issues with leaky sunroofs (especially, the earlier Model S). I use mine once in a blue moon. I agree with JBee, I'll gladly give up a sunroof for no annoying aero effects (whistling), sealing issues and improved structural integrity.

    Vault cover waterproof

I wonder how difficult it will be to keep the tonneau track clean enough to keep the cover from snagging and/or binding up? Since you won't be able to see out of the back window if the tonneau cover is deployed, I'm hoping that Tesla uses multiple (redundant?) cameras as a replacement for a...

    New screen UI in Cybertruck

If the MCU2 upgrade for the Model S is any indication (as well as the features offered on the 3/Y), they probably will not offer SiriusXM on the CT. I paid extra for the MCU2 upgrade to keep that functionality as I too, really enjoy the service.

Elon: no door handles on the Cybertruck

After replacing all 4 handles on the S already, I'm definitely in the "no handles" camp for the CT :). I don't own an X, so I can't speak to the usefulness or annoyance of the auto presenting doors that they have. Hopefully, Tesla will consider their options carefully and go from there.....

    Supercharger - Durham NC

In regards to the 4680 cell design, the tabless approach (versus the current, single tab approach) is supposed to distribute (or even partially eliminate) the internal battery cell resistance, effectively allowing the larger cell design to charge like (or better than?) a less dense cell design...

    Latest Dashboard Pictures

You have to admit, the Model S cupholders (at least in the 2015 "model" year) in the arm rest are awkward, at best. I am tall and need a full arm rest and with the cupholders in use (and a passenger in the seat beside me) the arm rest is pretty cramped. A truck is about utility (and nowadays...

This is definitely going to be an issue when the CyberTruck starts rolling out. I'd love to see Tesla address this by using pull-through spots (in the middle of a parking lot) that are large enough for a vehicle + trailer to avoid the inevitable headache of someone blocking *other* stalls to...

    CT Steering Wheel Replacement
