Waiting for AWD

By the time deliveries begin for non-employees, whats another 6 months? I would have already waited 1.5 years since reserving. Honestly it will give me more time to pay off existing debt and save more for maybe 1 or 2 more options. Also, the longer you wait to take a delivery, the more "bugs"...

Its only about 10 miles increase for the S and X I think. But I would consider it a secondary minor benefit to having better traction, and a little quicker.

I have such mixed feelings right now...my situation: 1) Get an early RWD model...almost guaranteed the full 7500 tax credit. Be that "cool guy with one of the first Model 3's". 2) Wait for AWD model...risk full tax credit by waiting...But more time to pay off existing debt and save more. Wife...

We were going to take the "scenic" route back to Washington as well (Highway 101). Probably spending a couple nights in CA hotels...CA restaurants for food...etc etc....I had it all planned out last year. Too bad.

He did say that...but this is for the high voltage cable (battery to inverters to motors only). The 1.5 km per car number was for all the wire in the car.

Yeah this is my dilemma. Right now if I were to pick up my car at the factory, I would essentially be canceling out that tax break I would get in WA and just giving normal sales tax to CA instead. I guess I will wait and see what happens...maybe we tweet Elon about it. :)

Dumping our 2012 Fusion SEL V6...about 100k miles by the time we trade it in. It has been a great car for commuting and longer trips. But just won't need it anymore once we have the 3.

The FSD announcement was for all Tesla vehicles not just Model 3. So it is safe to say he was referring to part 2 specifically for Model 3 only.

This is happening on a daily basis over on the main "Elon Musk" thread. It has spiraled downhill into a nightmare of differences in politics, name calling, and offense taking. All because Elon decided to wade into politics on the immigration issue.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. I am very likely to blast through my yearly mileage. With it being the "new shiny thing", fun to drive, interested family and friends wanting to go for test drives, daily commuting and occasional long distance I don't think a lease is right for my family.

What do you mean? There is an option to add DC fast charging on the Bolt. Yes it would take more planning and they don't have access to superchargers, but it can still do long trips.

Exactly my situation. We still owe about 15K on our 2012 Fusion ICE. Hoping our awesome debt payoff plan my wife has us on will pay it off by summer of next year. Then the Fusion will just be a trade-in for a bigger down payment on our 3 along with whatever we have saved up. Would love to keep...
