Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

Gizmotoy, I wasn't aware that there's a UTC showroom. Thanks. That's close enough to work that I may go check it out at lunchtime at some point.

Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

flipb, thanks for the reply. That's good to know that you're enjoying a used one. I'm curious if the rear-view camera issue is simply that it's dirty. I've had that happen before, where a rear-view camera in another car would turn itself off if the lens got dirty.

Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

I have to say, I'm a little troubled by the fact that Tesla sales didn't respond to my questions. Just the fact that I emailed them with questions got me on their SPAM list, and yet the only way to get a human being to respond is to ask other owners on the forums. Is this an indication of the...

An Update to our Supercharging Program

The Nissan Leaf "no charge to charge" program works pretty well. On the CHAdeMO "quick charger", you get 1/2 hour, and then they start charging you $$$. On the level 2, J1772 charger, you get 1 hour, and then they start charging you $$$. Everyone wins. You get your free charge, but they...

An Update to our Supercharging Program

I currently drive a leased Nissan Leaf (lease expires soon), and one of the reasons I was NOT considering a Tesla as a replacement was the free charging, believe it or not. My reason was pretty simple, and expressed by many here. A charge station should never be treated as a parking spot. It...

Questions about buying a used 2013 Model S

My Nissan Leaf Lease expires in July of next year, so I'm putting some thought into a used Model S to replace it. Specifically, I'm looking at the inventory on: Pre-Owned Model S | Tesla because they come with a warranty. There are alot of 2013 85kWh Model S's available there, and some have...

Is the Model S a "real" car yet?

Personally, I'm only interested in the Tesla because it's a really nice looking, luxurious, well performing car. Aside from the LEAF as a commuter... as a play vehicle, I've been driving full sized, GM-manufactured SUVs for the last 15 years, sometimes towing a heavy boat from the beach to the...

Is the Model S a "real" car yet?

I will, but it will be a while. The reason I posted in advance is that you guys are current owners of some of the model years that I'll be shopping for in a couple of year on the used market. That is, unless prices come down. I'm used to paying 60K for a nice SUV, but since I'll be too old...

Is the Model S a "real" car yet?

thank you all for the replies Thank you all for the replies. I've read them all (so far), and it's all very helpful. There's no substitute for first hand experience. When my LEAF lease is up, a Tesla Model S will be top on my shopping list, and since I'm a fan of buying slightly used, it's...

How many miles? How many months of ownership? How many service visits?

Is the Model S a "real" car yet?

I'm sure my title is going to make waves here, but keep in mind that I'm posting because I'm considering purchasing a Model S at some point down the road. I'm a very busy man, and simply don't have time in my life to visit a repair shop every other month. I have a lease on a Nissan LEAF, and...
