    How's V11 on the "Legacy" Model S?

Have a midyear 2014 Model S P85 with MCU1. It finally upgraded to v11 last week. Staying with MCU1 wasn't enough to escape v11, I guess. The main issue I have noticed with v11 on the classic car is that the UI loses the main screen setup If the car sits more than a day. It loses the music...

    2020.12.5

I had exactly the same problem with a "classic" 2014 Model S without AP.

Anyone need a Tesla 10-30 adapter

I bought it online. At the time, my nearest service center was 350 miles away. Tesla knew right where to find me when it was time to send a recall notice and the new part.

Anyone need a Tesla 10-30 adapter

Hmm. That's strange. I bought a 10-30 adapter directly from Tesla shortly after buying my car in early 2015. I got my replacement connector for the recall in the mail several months ago. I don't remember exactly when, but I believe it was last fall (late 2017).

    Software Update 2018.16

My 2014 non-AP just got v8.1 2018.14.2 with new navigation Beta over the weekend. Nice to see some improvements in the older cars.

    Trip to Home Depot

I realize that this is a very old thread, but figured I would add my cargo story. I just hauled home a long arm quilting machine with quilting frame. The frame has 5 10' pieces of conduit, 2 large side panels, and a center frame. I put down the rear seat behind the driver. The poles went...

Just got new update: 2017.42 a88c8d5

Just curious what you meant by that comment, since my view is that the 2017.42 release just messed up my side mirrors. With the new release, the mirrors unfold as soon as the car wakes up and the handles present. It used to be that they stayed folded while you walked past them and only opened...

    Model S Software/Firmware wishlist

My 2014 MS P85 (non-AP) took the V8.1 update (2017.42 a88c8d5) on 10/26/2017. The update added the Camper Mode (or in my case, little dog mode). That will be easier than the parking brake workaround I was using before. Unfortunately, the update also made a change I really disagree with. The...

    CPO Timeline Advise Needed

Transport times can be really hard to predict. I bought my P85 from southern California, and it took 3 weeks to get it shipped. The trip only took 2 days, once it started moving, but it took 3 weeks to find a trailer going the right way. I also wanted an enclosed trailer, so that took longer...

Could Tesla survive outside the US market?

Keep in mind that Tesla can sell without issues in most states. Only a handful of states are trying to force the adoption of independent dealers. I like Tesla's initial response: "You are worried about manufacturers competing with dealers? We promise, we will not compete against any dealers."

How did you survive the wait?!

I bought a demo, but it took 3 weeks to find an enclosed trailer to transport it to my state. I spent the time cleaning and rearranging the garage. Since the Model S was quite a bit bigger than the car previously parked in that spot, it took about 2 weeks. I finished the weekend it arrived...

Can't find a suitable CPO. Will you sell me your trade?

I found that buying a demo was a great deal. I bought a 2014 P85 about a year ago. It had 11K miles, but I got it for 20% off original price. It was one of the demos released in November, so it doesn't have autopilot or AWD, but I have been happy. Since I was first to register it, I also get...

Valet Service No Longer Free at Service Center, instead $3 per mile

I am taking my P85 in for its annual check to a service center 350 miles away. I am driving it in myself so no valet charges. Tesla is providing a loaner car. People in this same area have had their vehicle taken to the service center on a flat bed truck when it couldn't run. It was...

The few in Boise, where most people have never heard of Tesla

Hi, Rocky. Mike here. I have also driven practical vehicles all my life, but not quite as efficient. When you have horses and a 16 foot horse trailer, suddenly a three-quarter ton Suburban is "practical." My commuting car has always been smaller and efficient, though. For the last four...

    Supercharger - Boise, ID
