I’m a year in on owning a lucid grand touring. I had two back to model s performance for 61/2 years and was waiting to pull the trigger on a plaid. I was not a fan of the yoke and was a bit disappointed by the new interior so that’s why I jumped to Lucid. The pros: much more luxurious, far more...
Sorry this is not the case. The battery pack consists of 70 mm batteries (2.75,inches) With the housing and other components you are looking at ~4 inches of height. You can’t possibly be telling me there is 8 inches of batteries double stacked in the footwell in a car that is lower than the...
Yes and no on the extra range being due to an extra large battery. The Dream is using a 118 kw battery but the GT only uses a 112 kw battery to accomplish about the same range of 516 miles range. As for “ filling up the rear seat footwells “ they have done exactly likeTesla has with the skate...
Actually the Dream is a limited edition initial offering for $169k. You get the same range and the same standard options with the grand touring at $139k (before tax credit) but only 800 hp not 930. And since Tesla generally underperforms on range across models for these tests by ~13% while the...
Thanks for your interest. I supposedly have some one that wants this in California and requested shipping prices. If this falls through will let you know.
Actually 12 were delivered to customers and the rest were cars for executives and or part of the test drive fleet. There was a large unveiling event and party followed by a rally with the CEO
Brand new in box matte black with Elon Musk signature from earlier referral program. 80A capacity ( gen 3 are only 48A). 24 foot cord. $625 shipping extra
Located just north of NYC
Tesla was at one point offering wall chargers free to air bnb proprietors. We have one at our air bnb. This was when superchargers were few and far between. We now have two superchargers within 12 miles of the house and another 3 within 25 miles. So not much of a problem anymore. We still get...
35 K miles, dark grey metallic, premium black interior with carbon trim, 19 inch sonic carbon slipstream wheels with 3 month old Pirelli P Zero Nero AS with road hazard protection. Heated seats and wheel, biodefense mode, air suspension,
Clean car fax , clear NY title car located 40 miles north...
LOL might have kicked over the hornets nest for sure. Tesla does inspire a fierce loyalty. Don’t get me wrong, I really have enjoyed both my model Ss, I think the plaid knocks it out of the park for performance, that’s why the mild warm over for the exterior and interior is so disappointing for me.
Case in point, I'm driving my second back to back model S performance, 7 years total. I have never bought the same car back to back after decades of driving Audis, BMWs and Mercs. I was set to buy a plaid in 2022 but after seeing a Lucid parked a Manhattan classic car club I wandered over to the...
I think you are wrong here. When you option up a long range models S with FSD, 21 inch wheels, a color other than white and an interior other then black you are at ~100K, the Plaid goes for ~145K simeraly equipped. The Lucid has an interior that would be at home in a Mercedes S class so I think...
You are both wrong. The Lucid pure starts at 77k with a 400 mile range, the 600 hp touring is $95k which also has 400 miles, the 800 hp grand touring is $139k and has 517 miles. Finally the limited edition Air dream at $169k is split into two flavors a range model ( 933hp with 520 miles) and a...
I’ve owned two back to back model S performance ( a 2015 P85DL and a current 2019 Raven performance) this is the only car in 40 years of driving I’ve bought back to back. I was waiting to pick up a plaid in 2022 but now I’ve tempered my expectations. I still don’t have FSD after paying for it...
Yep happened to me two years ago. Couldn’t find the right replacement from tesla untill about two and half weeks after the experation of their initial ( somewhat low) trade in value. They lopped another $ 1800 off my P85D. I complained to sales saying the car can’t be losing 3k a month in value...
Yes @Ormond sat in a refresh S at a supercharger last month. It is a nice upgrade in materials and design but in a way it also is mimicking the design cues of the down market model 3. Not the way I would have gone. Of course any improvements are a good thing. I’m just sorry that I may never see...
About the same getting in and out of the lucid and model S front seat. The back seat has a few more inches and is easier to egress. The interior is simply stunning. I have spent 7 years making excuses for the model S as spartan, or minimalist, or Scandinavian. Don’t get me wrong, I love my...
I have a reservation for a lucid grand touring. I have followed the companies ups and downs and it really looks like they will make a go of it with the billions of additional investments. I saw the car in Manhattan and was suitably impressed with the styling, amenities and fit and finish on...
I transported the cabinetry for a small kitchen rehab in two trips. The Home Depot guy was amazed at what fit in there. Later went back and got the full sized stove in. Just couldn’t close the hatch all the way however didn’t have to worry about exhaust fumes wafting back into the cabin. An S...
They were closed due to the power outage from isais. They are open again. Have charged there a couple of times. The parking lot that was taped off does not include the superchargers So no problem
Yes the car comes to a full stop. What I find interesting is the regen lets up slightly just before the stop so you don’t get that tiny jerk to the occupants with a constant brake stop, just like my dad taught me. Those software guys don’t miss a trick.
Also went from a P85DL to a Raven performance. Basically 100 more miles range, better ride, AP 1 to AP 2, better seats, quicker, faster charging, biodefence mode, one piece glass roof, much quicker MCU, and 30k cheaper
The best story I know of passing on a low stock price was a good friend of my fathers who was in Japan with the military during the 50s. He had something to do with finance and a couple of Japanese businessmen approached him with an offer to buy half of a fledgling electronic company for $5000...
Nikola ll. My previous P85D was Nikola. I imagine when I get a max plaid that will be named...wait for it... Nikola lll. I’m nothing if not consistent.
Hear hear! From where I type this message I would have had a few thousand feet of ice over my head 10,000 years ago. I doubt the few roving gangs of hunter gathers were causing this climate change with their campfires. Am I a climate denier? Hardly. I think man has ultimately very little to do...
Ok you have had WAY to much coffee while sheltering in place. I’m betting our thread starter did not replace his car with a 1998 Hummer H1. The truth is that an ice car is still a viable option for a number of reasons. In ten years I’m betting the earth will still be here and EVs will be 50% of...
Sorry to see you go Eye! I guess by trading in my p85d 4 months ago I am no longer part of a class action! Well no matter, I had 5 years of wonderful driving. And I’m sure if kept the car another year to cash in on this whatever I got would be swamped out by the depreciation in that year. So I...
As I stated nearly all of them develop that crack. That’s why they stoped making them. Some epoxy and a piece of shim aluminum would fix nicely. If you look in the forum the last four of these sold for 300 to 450 I believe. So no 100 bucks is a bit too low but thanks for playing!
Tan leather with Obeche matte wood. Used maybe 6 times, very nice shape. It has the crack in the hinge that 95% of these have. Original new price $650, asking $400. Located 40 miles north of NYC. Also have original Tesla chrome license plate surround for $10
I gave up on posting what I heard from my sources because of a number of times Tesla changed course, reprioritized, or put things on hold from week to week or month to month. If I hear something rock solid like with the raven drivetrain I’ll post, otherwise most things I hear come with an...
A little off topic but how difficult would it be for Tesla to tie footwell lights to ambient lighting like most other luxury brands? Seems to me a few lines of code and a slider button on the lighting screen would add a neat feature and dispel the inky pit of blackness where your feet are at night.
Went from a 2015 P85DL to a 2019 raven performance. Chose not to wait anymore as there is something always around the corner. I have a warranty again, 100 miles more range, faster charging, better ride, quicker acceleration and can actually use the browser now. Plus the monthly payments are...
Get the cubby drawer under the main screen. Comes in handy for small items that get lost in the center console corners. A number of outfits make them. Some good accessory providers for the S are RPM Tesla, Evannex ,taptes, abstact ocean. Take a look on those websites. The brighter trunk, puddle...
Congrats! My old car was the blue. Great color. You may want to reconsider the 21 inch wheels though great looking will take a few percentage points off your range and if you are in a pothole prone region you stand a greater chance of blow outs with the bigger rims. Also see if you have a...
Take the check, buy the car for salvage. Buy a new or salvage hood. Replace front and rear glass if that’s all that shattered. Pay a paintless ding repair guy for a days worth of work ( not by the ding of course) the better guys can do wonders. The guy I use has done numerous hail cars for...
They may be just pulling everything to change to no free supercharging or no free ludicrous on performance models since the 4rth quarter push is over. They have left goodies like these available through January in the past for fence sitters who couldn’t get their act together or make a decision...
If you are concerned on that long stretch you can really increase your range by finding a semi going 65 to 70 mph and getting about 2 car lengths behind it. Drafting works wonders on improving range and efficiency. Ask any NASCAR driver. ( I wouldn’t recommend getting 6 inches behind the lead...
