    Missing rubber on HVAC knob

Just bought one from Tesla for $51.25 cad each. :frown: I am debating making some knurled aluminum ones for the next time they break.

    Canadian Pricing and Delivery

A US purchase of a roadster was not an option.

    Canadian Pricing and Delivery

I don't have my paper work handy, but it strikes me that it was closer to 25% more for the same car (sport). The US dollar and Canadian dollar were basically at par when I bought. They need to fix this with the Model S.

    Karma -vs- Model S

One reason Tesla may not have put regen on the brake pedal would be to prevent the brake pedal from behaving differently after a range charge or a cold day (when the regen is automatically disabled). Consistency of braking behaviour would be paramount for the general public. It's already...

What equipment do people recommend to change tires at home?

Like the jack frequencydip purchased, you will need a low profile jack to get under the Roadster. Probably not required for the Model S, but it won't hurt.

Short and sweet J-1772 to Roadster adapter - lockable

Doh! I just ordered my adapter from Tesla a week ago. Your design looks very good.

    What cars have you owned?

Here are mine. 1987 Pontiac Fiero 1971 Dodge 340 6 pack Dart 1964 Dodge Travco (current) 2006 Subaru Stage 4 WRX STi 2010 Tesla Roadster Sport (current) Wish I still had them all.

How many Tesla Owners are Vegetarians/Vegans?

Hmmm. I voted vegan before I read all the comments. Now I am kinda scared.

    Traction control with new tires

Version looks like 4.6.3 40. Anyone else having problems?

    Traction control with new tires

I had the same problem this year when I put the winter tires on; I coasted from 100km/h to just barely moving (in a straight line) while trying to program new tires. The regen never came back on, there was no message, and the power remained reduced until I shut the car off. After shutting the...

    Aero wheels

It might be kinda cool if they were just something you could put on over the existing wheels. You could just snap them on for long runs. Maybe like the Mooneyes they use on on salt flat vehicles. Mooneyes Online Store - Specialty Equipment Manufacturer, Speed and Custom Parts for...

    Actual Color Poll - New

I can't believe I picked brown... I thought black looked better, but I am never living with a black car again. Catalina white would be a second pick.

Driving the Model S Sedan at the Tesla Factory Track (In the Rain)

Did anyone else think that the right hand wiper looked like it was 'dropping' all of the water in the drivers line of site (until the left wiper wiped it up)? Seemed pretty distracting. Maybe I'm just getting used to the roadsters cyclops wiper!

PEM, motor gets too hot -- fans failed

I was told it looked bad and would probably start to fail soon. Nice that they caught that. I suppose it saved a flight to come repair it later.

PEM, motor gets too hot -- fans failed

Mine was very loud and vibrating as well. The Ranger came right out to fix it. There was a LOT of road gravel in there. They also replaced the PEM fan. He told me that most of the northern cars have had to go through this. Hopefully they come up with a better fan to retrofit. i was also...

    Tall Roadster drivers

6'3" and no problems that have not already been mentioned. I actually didn't notice that the heater / ac had labels until I was leaning way down just the other day. Losing the sun visors added a lot of visibility. Getting in and out is a funny adventure no matter how big or small you are; I've...

    Resetting TPMS

With a 2.5 ( I am not sure about the other models) you need to use a special programer to assign the sensor for each wheel. You will need to do this when the winters go on, and come off. I asked if I could just buy the programer, but the tech wasn't sure. It looks like a typical obdII...

That's horrible! I am so sorry to hear that.

    Newly tested Tesla-recommend winter tires

Apparently my Sottozero's are just about to ship. I purchased them with rims direct from Tesla. I'll take some pics once they are here. I am starting to second guess winter driving my Roadster... The car just looks too good for our salty, slushy, dirty winter roads.

I take delivery of 1071 in about an hour... and it just started lightly snowing...

Drove to Canmore today, and took a couple of better photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/devildotbunny/sets/72157625187709382/ Enjoy!

My roadster arrives in less than an hour!

For whatever it's worth, that's about how loud mine is for the first 30 minutes or so of charging. Of course mine is in the garage... but its loud enough that I think if it was outside the neighbours might complain.

I take delivery of 1071 in about an hour... and it just started lightly snowing...

Great point! I never even thought of that! Yay Alberta. When they originally wrote up my bill of sale they added BC HST. Nearly scared the pants off me!

I take delivery of 1071 in about an hour... and it just started lightly snowing...

And apparently one more (black roadster) in Medicine Hat. Pretty good for a province with NO incentives. OK, after sleeping in my VOR roadster sport last night here is the rest of the story: Delivery was booked between 9 and 11, but at 11:30, I was still an anxious man. Unfortunatly I had...

I take delivery of 1071 in about an hour... and it just started lightly snowing...

Yeah, the anticipation is killing me! I heard a big truck making a beeping backup sound outside, so I threw on 2 coats and ran out with the camera... It was the garbage truck. Still waiting... Thanks for the offer for the 50amp charge Kevin! Likewise if you are ever in Calgary and need a...

I take delivery of 1071 in about an hour... and it just started lightly snowing...

When you live in Canada you just accept that everything takes longer! Mine has been on the road for delivery for about 11 days. I am guessing it takes a while at the border, and that the truck at least tries to have a load containing more than 1 car before it leaves. As far as options? I don't...

Haha. Mine still says 'You have successfully configured your Tesla Roadster. Your color choices and options are now "locked" in preparation for production.'

My roadster arrives in less than an hour!

Looks great! I feel your excitement. Mine is due to arrive this Saturday. Did the truck need a lot of room to maneuver? I live on a narrowish street (and on a hill). Maybe it will be a party on someone else's street! Congrats, I hope you love it.

1071 is on a truck for delivery. Hopefully it shows up next week sometime.

Who gets to sell the carbon credits, us or Tesla (when the time comes of course)?

Yeah, I wish it was a Canada wide credit. In oil rich Alberta you get a rebate of $0. If you live in Alberta, write them and ask them to follow Ontario's lead... Preferably before my roadster gets here in the next week or so!
  34. jason.auch

Problem: You can only charge your car in a garage?!

Very clever! I think I am going to build one too. You should probably patent it; this might be a million dollar idea in a world filled with electric cars.

Review of my Tesla Roadster test drive

I just sold my stage 4 STi for a roadster sport too! Living up in the great white north, I haven't had a chance to test drive one, or for that matter even see one in real life. This great review gives me some confidence that I have made the right decision. Hopefully mine gets here in the...

    How realistic is this?

The Tesla winter tire package I was just quoted consists of: 225/45/R17 94V Pirelli Sottozero 240 rear 195/50/R16 Pirelli Snowsport 210 front * Tire pressures: 28psi Front and 36psi Rear J
