Depending where you live, chains are definitely an option when it's BAD conditions. For me, also illegal - can't use chains or studded tires. I guess I should have re-phrased the poll maybe as Everyday Extreme Winter non-stud/non-chain Tire of Choice? :wink:

I already put down my $500 deposit the day it showed up for pre-order on shop.teslamotors.com, so this is exciting news for me! Still haven't received any word on when I'll be booked in to actually have the retrofit done (doing it out of Eden Prairie location in Minnesota).

Good point. Mainly, hassle and cost. Not cheap to rent the drag strip for the day and coordinate all that. Plus, there's a decent amount of P85D drag races on youtube already. I figure a new batch with Ludicrous is probably more so what people want. But we'll see how long it's going to take...

Thanks for posting. Clarified to me that between 0 - 30mph that Insane mode and Ludicrous mode are essentially the same (since traction through the tires is the limiting factor there), but after 30mph is when the fuse change allowing 1500amp draw (over 1300amps) makes the different on getting...
