Towing a Jayco, Keystone, or Similar

Hello - I have been searching for forums. We are getting a ~3700 UVW camper (Flagstaff ePro). I am confused about what to do - I am assuming a WDR is recommended for my 100D but unclear. A service center employee told me they think a weight distribution hitch/anti sway would be fine as long as...

    Tire selection for Model X

I got the Hancock Ions and they feel smooth and buttery in a good way. Less road noise. I love how they feel.

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

The improvements are incredible, though granted this issue is a defect. I’ve had this fix done recently and this is the best my car has ever performed, ever. There have been legitimate improvements in the software leading to improved performance as well.

    ‘17 5 seater X heating problem

Hello all, I have a Model X which was the first iteration I think of the 5 seater. My wife noticed that the passenger side heating is poor relative to the left. Its as though the custom controls for driver vs passenger temp don’t matter and auto seems to be the only mode that works for the...

    Software Update 2018.42.x

Day 4 on NoA and have really come to appreciate this update - it really is quite significant. Headed from downtown directly to an on-ramp. NoA activates from the beginning of the on ramp. All of a sudden it starts slowing down. A car to the right is merging from an interchange. There was no...

    Rear view camera - v9.0

I trust my vision far more than AP’s for blind spot monitoring. Especially this early there will be edge cases. We also don’t know if blind spot monitoring can catch high speed cars like we can glancing at the rear view camera. This is a big downgrade.

I used to think CNN was reputable

CNN is inadvertently Tesla’s biggest short supporter. Elon if you come across this I would have a chat with senior leadership

I used to think CNN was reputable

Of a number of headlines about SpaceX CNN has the only negative one I could find. CNN must have something out for Musk. I hate the term fake news but CNN’s coverage of all things Musk sure feels like it. I can’t believe this out of a company I used to have a lot of respect for.

I used to think CNN was reputable

So was using the Apple News app and CNN had a headline Tesla’s magic wearing off as Model 3 excitement dwindles. Wow. There is no evidence at all to suggest this except only the negativity and click bait driven news cycles. I used to the think until the last few days that I wouldn’t get a model...

News for Model X owners with the dreaded shudder

I trust the information from the OP. From memory there has never been anything definitive in this topic in the past. This is the only really frustrating aspect of the Model X, but don’t see a reason to feel deflated that there isn’t or won’t be a fix for this issue. I have actually let her rip...

I used to think CNN was reputable

Nice assumptions there. Multiple articles including about Tesla have been flamebait. There is a guy named Cilia or something, relatively more dramatic and I appreciated the previous person more. FYI more like news from the Apple app, no longer going direct to CNN. No Fox here either.
  14. M

I used to think CNN was reputable

The current headline is Tesla is making enough cars but can’t sell them. What flamebait! If you move away from the valuation lens for a moment Tesla is breaking records. CNN will no longer be my main news source. Trump’s attackings on the press are frightening, but media is not without issues.

    Trade-in in 1 state, deliver/register in another?

Yes Tesla will accommodate and do this. This was done for my S trade in one state and pickup my X from another state the next day.

    What comes after plaid mode?
  17. M

I just received my Model X last week and the rear vents aren't blowing enough air.

You could direct the front middle vents to the rear. I have had no issues with my 5 seater and rear passengers summer or winter.

    Acceleration Shudder

I bought an SUV/cross over style vehicle, not a minivan. I will tell that to every service center employee that tells me to put my suspension on low.

Anyone taken delivery of cream seats with oak decor?

Looks beautiful. The only cream alcantara headliner option that I would consider.

White Premium or Black Textile Seats

I had textile in my S and now white in my X. Agreed that the textile are much better than cloth in lower end cars. White seats with door and dashboard panels looks so cool. Makes everything look futuristic. Nearly 1 year in and anything wipes off very easily. As far as comfort well both are...

Second row space in 5 seat vs any other configuration

I think the 5 seater is fixed and the 7 seater has a bit of wiggle room but there isn’t much additional space to be had at all.

    Are FWDs getting better?

Only a squeak with an easy fix. No issues and very happy with the FWD’s. I used to worry about the doors pre purchase but after experiencing them I am comfortable with them and don’t expect to have problems.

    Model X Winter Experience

Tesla Model X P100D: The Nor'easter Test The X really is a great winter vehicle. The stock tires aren’t that good for winter driving. With proper tires the X is a beast as per Road and Track.

No regrets, except for wanting 6 seats.

    Version 2018.10.4

This update is incredible. A far cry from ~8 months ago when AP2 was worse than AP1. It handles a wide variety of driving conditions better than AP1. That being said it has been reported that AP1 can handle hill crests now. This update requires much fewer interventions than AP1 or prior AP2...

Moving Seats Back in 5 Seater Config

Ventilation is completely fine in a 5 seater. Heated air at standard temp will melt trunk window snow whether driving or parked in camper mode. And sans the heated element.

New Headliner for Model X - pics?

Until they got caught and spun a story?! I haven’t seen any response from Tesla. Care to backup the claim they spun some hard to believe story? I’ve seen no story spun by Tesla.

    Model X Winter Experience

My X comes from a line of Lexus, Toyota, and BMW cars. I’m confused by your experience. My Tesla’s have saved me more than any other car in winter conditions. Quite succinctly recall passing quite a few cars in total over several Midwest winters. You are driving a performance SUV so I would...

Good point. The 8’s were simply the quickest and relatively cheapest my local tire shop could get in.

    Winter tires for Model X

I had winter tires on my Model S every season. Didn’t test it without but I wondered if it was truly necessary. And it really is for bad conditions. My S with winter tires performs better in bad conditions than my X with all seasons. The recovery from slips is consistently quicker with winter...

    Cream interior Vs. White

I’ve sat in my friend’s leather Model S’s. I had the textile S and have white in my X. The ultra leather is definitely softer and better cushioned. In fact it’s softer with better cushioning than many luxury cars with standard leather. That doesn’t answer your question though. Go white for...

Buying Model X, Need some Advice please.

I had a Model S 70D and now a Model X 100D. I highly recommend you go for the 100D unless it is too expensive. Range anxiety is GONE. The 70D always had the available range, never an issue. But with the 100D comes strong confidence. Plus you can run camper mode and keep your car warm and not...

This is the ultimate winter car

Just watched Star Wars and it snowed outside. I have been using camper mode in my 100D whenever it snows, being in public for less than half a day, and hours before leaving. My car is warm, toasty, and ready to go. It’s halfway into December in Minnesota and I have yet to use my windshield...

    Which Model X to buy?

I had a Model S 70D and have an X 100D. Never an issue with the 70, but the 100D gives so much flexibility. Range anxiety is gone. The later the model is built the generally more updated it is and the more reliable.

The steering algorithms are solid in this. They were already reasonably good. But now my car lane keeps and changed lane Better than I can in normal non taxing situations.

    The winner is: Model X

Issues do get resolved even for older cars. I plan to keep the X a long time. I’m not afraid to take it Past its warranty.

    Staying comfortable in Extreme Cold

So far I haven’t purchased winter tires for my X. I did have Michelin latitude X ice 3 On my model S. Part of the delay is that I am unimpressed by winter tire performance specifiers such as breaking when dry and slush. We had our first significant snowfall, performed admirably better than any...

    Staying comfortable in Extreme Cold

I live in MN and this will be my first winter in the X. The last two winters were spent in the S 70D I had, with Pano roof. I didn’t feel the need to insulate the roof or anywhere else. I did do one road trip in -4F and felt warm. Did unzip my jacket or take it off. The -10 to -20 driving was...

    Opinions on 5-seater vs. 7-seater?

I don’t think it will be an issue. The X 5 seater is still a step ahead of the Model S. Two more rear vents than the Model S. The AC compressor is the exact same between different models. Is the 6 or 7 seater better? In that sense yes. But is it necessary? No. Maybe it makes a few people feel...
