    Range Extension Stupidity

Please note, I’m not saying that the engineers are idiots. Sometimes we can all get stuck in one type of thinking that it is hard to think outside the box. An aluminum battery is not as sustainable in terms of Teslas main goal. But you have to weigh up the use case of lugging around all the...

    Range Extension Stupidity

In answer to the question: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminium%E2%80%93air_battery Or https://www.electricbee.co/an-ev-battery-that-does-not-need-to-be-charged/#google_vignette Most people do not use anywhere near the capacity of the main rechargable battery. In the event of a road...

    Range Extension Stupidity

I don’t understand the range extension. You could easily use an aluminum battery which is non rechargeable but give 1000km/ or 625 miles of additional range which would solve the range problem. How often would you use it? Maybe once per year, but then the roadtrip ends up not needing a super...

    Full Self Driving in Australia

So, now that Tesla is moving to hardware 4 it seems like our cars will not be upgradable. I note that full self upgrading can no longer be bought in my car but can be bought through the app. What are others thoughts?

    Black or white interior?

The white looks amazing. However I have a good friend who does stain removal for a living. He saw I ordered black and his first words were thank G*d. He said to his wife, “he ordered the black”. And she said, I was worried he would be another one. Just saying, for long term the black is better...

LFP. Weekly Charging vs Daily Charging

I took the ardous task of reading the manual: Model Y has one of the most sophisticated battery systems in the world. The most important way to preserve the high voltage Battery is to LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE PLUGGED IN when you are not using it. This is particularly important if you are not planning...

    Model Y Air Conditioning

I have asked for a service appointment, but Tesla service is more than an hour away. It works if I put the temperature down to 18 degrees celcius. But in all of my old cars it was at 23. I still need to leave it in the sun to heat up to test it again. I will leave the service appt and drive...

    Model Y Air Conditioning

Hi. I picked up my Model Y yesterday. I love the car. The air conditioning does blow some cold air, but the car could not actually get cold after 20 min of driving. Do you think I need to regas it? What should I do?

    Removal of Model Type

I have a weird question. I was at the crocodile restaurant near Australia Zoo last night. There were three Teslas there but it seemed like none of them had their model number on the back. Some also had the dual motor on them but I have seen this for sale on Aliexpress. Without a comparison...

    3 Phase Powerwall

Hi I have a powerwall which was set up for one phase with the original gateway. My house is now three phase but the powerwall only reads one phase. I called Tesla and they said it can use CTs to read the other phases. They said it can do this with wired and wireless ones. However, I cannot...

Best Way to Get Rid of the Old Non Tesla Car

Tesla offer was $18k, I ended up selling it for $30k privately. Now to get my model Y in September and have a $150/week rental until then.

Best Way to Get Rid of the Old Non Tesla Car

Tesla trade in offer is 16.5k. Carsales lists them from $26k - 35k. Mine has lower mileage, new battery and is newer than the entire list.

LFP. Weekly Charging vs Daily Charging

Sorry. It is the LFP. I have free charging at work. I can charge 5 days a week. Seven if you include at home. Or plug it in weekly. I do around 250km/week on average.

Best Way to Get Rid of the Old Non Tesla Car

Hi. I’m just upgrading to a new model Y. I have a 2016 Mitsubishi PHEV which I want to sell/trade in. This has 75k on the odometer, is 6 years old and has a new battery (54km Range) - 2 weeks old. What would you recommend? 1. Trade it in to Tesla 2. Sell it on Carsales 3. Other

LFP. Weekly Charging vs Daily Charging

Sorry if this has been written before. I just ordered my first Tesla which is a model Y. Does weekly charging vs daily charging affect range and battery degradation. I’m a little paranoid as I had the battery replaced on my Mitsubishi PHEV.

Leasing a Tesla, Company purchase and more

I had a similar talk with an accountant. They generate fees from handling the fbt and it is a win for them. When you calculate the numbers it doesn't pan out unless you run a taxi service.

    Second hand teslas

I have my name down for a model x which they are promising by next year. In the meantime I have been checking out the second hand market for a model s. The weird thing is that most of these are equal or higher priced than a new custom car. What are your thoughts?

2nd and 3rd Row Seating Space in Model X

Here here. I would also like this. Either no middle seat or no back seat. I'm sick of being in cramped cars. On top of that it would be a great limousine concept. We could see a new breed of taxis which charged more and give a huge production boost to tesla.

    USD/AUD Exchange rate

Hi all Several people had thoughts on what is happening with our currency and I wanted to find out what others opinions are. Rather than derail the model X thread I set this one up. What's your best guesses as to where we are going currency wise and why?

    Servicing in Brisbane

We have a family with our first who is 4 months old. I want enough room. With the S, I found if I have my seat in a comfortable position the back is rather cramped. My wife and I are both over six foot. The suv appeals for both visibility on the road and space for family & friends.

    Servicing in Brisbane

Seriously? So you just pay the standard even though it is so far away? I will wait till the suv is available to look at and buy one then. The auto pilot looks great too. I was surprised about the responsiveness of the car as well. The only other thing I do worry about is the longevity of the...

    Servicing in Brisbane

The question is how much do you pay. I love the car but if the maintenance is too high it is not worth the purchase price. Surely we would have to pay for transportation and accommodation costs?

    Servicing in Brisbane

Hi all, I got to test drive the model S this week. It was awesome. I'm interested in buying the X but am worried about upkeep and servicing as I live just north of Brisbane and Sydney is a bit far to travel. Anyone know what the deal is for the range service?
