    AWD delivery thread

Successfully picked up my red AWD 3 at highland park last night. Clearly they are swamped (100+ deliveries yesterday, 150+ deliveries today) and you need to be prepared to wait (bring a book or iPad) as they try to clear the queue. Appointment times really don’t seem to mean a whole lot with...

    Snow tire advice

if you're going to keep the car for any amount of time I'd highly recommend getting the second set of rims. It's much easier and quicker to deal with. While I may be over reacting (I'm not a tire expert) i'd rather have the tires seated once on the rim rather than pull them on and off the rim...

    Snow tire advice

+1 on the X-ICE. I ran them this winter on my model 3 (18” Aeros minus the hubcaps) in Chicago. We took delivery in January so we got a decent bit of weather after that. They worked outstanding in all of the conditions we faced this winter.

What are you ordering? RWD, AWD, P?

Ordered an AWD LR as a replacement for our S60 rwd that’s coming off lease. Picked up the dual motor as a good balance between the added cost and performance gain. If the dual motor over performs like the RWD does it’s going to be a great value compared to just about anything out there. We...

Refresh S60 with AP1? Questions about AP, range upgrade and Cali HOV

I have a model S 60 (AP1) and a model 3, both with autopilot. If you can stretch for the 75D with AP2.5 I’d recommend it. I bounce back and forth between the two, and I find that the model 3 AP is quickly leaving AP1 in the dust. I find AP2.x more confident in in all conditions and...

    Model 3 Software Updates

I agree completely with this. I’m also wondering if they are using the different cameras in the windshield. I’ve definately noticed the car appears to be accounting for changes further ahead than in the past (even more so than our AP1 model S). It’s very noticeable to me when crossing...

Model 3 in Chicago area now

I went with the Michelin’s from tire rack simply because I wanted 18” wheels and I want my summer wheels to be something other than the aero wheels... my intent is to use the aero wheels for my winters and get a set of turbine style wheels for my summers. I did the same thing with my model S...

Model 3 in Chicago area now

Threw real snow tires (Michelin ICEX on the 3 and blizzaks on the S) on mine and I’ve had no issues. Drives at least as well as our RWD S, and way better than even an AWD ICE vehicle... I do get skeptical when autopilot lights up as available though! Im very satisfied with how the car is...

    Sunk-in hood

This thread made me look at mine as well... and yup, same misalignment issue. VIN is 30XX series. I'm leaning toward Cricket's assessment of a stamping problem... Why else would a hood get replaced. I do have to say I am impressed with the significant improvements in panel alignment over...

Model 3 in Chicago area now

Took delivery of our Blue model 3 this morning at Highland Park. They had about a dozen model 3s crammed into the delivery area this morning.

60 Owners : How much less are our cars worth today?

Just took delivery (6 days ago) of an inventory S60 which I am comfortable I got a fair deal on. I have to agree on the confusion surrounding the CPO program, pricing structures, depreciation, etc. It was not easy to make a good comparison. I have a 3 tab spreadsheet that i built just trying...
