Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

But, isn't that exactly what WS and the analysts have been demanding, getting back to the 25% margins? IIRC, Elon himself stated at a recent earnings report that their goal was to get back to 25% margins.

That may be true, but let's not forget what happened in 2008, when tens of thousands of people started defaulting on their car loans. Will they get another bailout this time?

Yes, for ONE QUARTER (4Q23) BYD managed to push out as many cars it could to its dealer lots to be able to claim it outsold Tesla. The media has beat this dead horse long enough, why am I having to hear it here?

Yeah, you gotta love that headline, more complaining about not enough nags. And then, of course, they save it until the very end of the article to admit the testing was done before the update 3 months ago that added more nags. SMH.

Just a datapoint: I took delivery of my Model Y LR in January 2022 (ordered 9/21) for $52,900. There were a lot of crazy price changes around that time.

That's not how I remember it. If I recall correctly, the partnership broke up because Tesla wanted access to the raw data from the Mobileye chipset, and Mobileye refused.

Yes, having 6 MPPTs would definitely help them avoid using Optimizers, like their older solar inverters. I love the idea! My Fronius has 2 MPPTs, but I can definitely see use cases for several more!

No, @terranx just needs to go pursue one of his other hobbies. As numerous people have tried to explain to him, he is preaching to the wrong group. This is a Tesla INVESTORS forum, not the "Tesla Day-Traders Forum". I think most of us HODLers would agree that Tesla is going to trade mostly flat...

Wow, I consider it rather ironic, and truly sickening, that the same judge who decided that Elon's $55 Billion dollar payout was "outrageous and excessive" could now possibly hand over billions to the plaintiff's ambulance-chasing lawyers! What about the damage that payout does to Tesla...

Why? People might as well just buy a base Model 3 then. I don't think Tesla would go to all the trouble to create a completely new car, using completely new technology to manufacture and assemble it, just to have it come in a couple thousand dollars less than the Model 3. They could spend much...

I thought the same thing. After living 40 years in PA, I well remember how many times your car battery totally died with the first cold front. You come out in the morning, and click, click, click....dead. But, of course, no mention of this cold front's affect on ICE cars.

First Power Outage with PW2, have a few questions

I thought this was the way for the Powerwalls to control the inverter power output, in a master/slave arrangement? The higher the frequency, the higher the output demanded from the inverter, no? Exactly! The detail that the FUD media and analysts seem to keep missing is that (IIRC) Tesla predicted that they would AVERAGE 50% growth YoY, not grow 50% each and every year. That would put them at 2,529,463 cars for 2024. They have beat 50% AVERAGE YoY each year so far.

I think the part that mongo objected to was actually MP3Mike's statement I quoted above. It sounds to me that a person's 2024 tax liability is no longer an issue, just their AGI and income cap. At least no one will have to worry about those flooded Teslas being resold to unsuspecting victims, like so many ICE cars after a flood.
