Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

Who said anything about it being temporary? They said they're going to unplug the sensor and secure the wiring.

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

I have an appointment with Tesla service next week and they added a note about disabling the front radar sensor while my car is in, is that a thing they're doing for everyone? I know they supposedly moved away from using it in the software, but then why would they bother disabling the hardware?

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

I have a 2021 Plaid and noticed the slower speed vibration from day one, seems to be getting much worse, I notice it all the way up to about 65 mph now. It's enough that if I let go of the yoke, I can see it shaking. Less than 6,000 miles on the car. Having Tesla check it out next week...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think people are really underestimating the damage that's been done to the Tesla brand image in the last few weeks... Used to hearing the occasional comments here and there about quality and random fires over the last 10 years, but it's so much worse now. People I've never heard from or seen...

sort of does sound like that, but it definitely corresponds to bumps in the road and doesn't change at all with the HVAC settings.

    Active Road Noise Cancellation

With this turned on the other day I noticed a nasty hum, sounded like mic feedback and was actually making a tire noise much worse on certain roads. If I didn't know about this new feature and to try turning it off I probably would have thought there was a serious mechanical issue going on...

2021+ Model S and Model S Plaid Refresh Issues Thread

First time out in the cold (10°f) with my new S Plaid, it has so many interior rattles I feel like I'm driving my old Jeep XJ that had 250k miles on it. Ridiculous for a 130k car.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Has anyone had problems with Tesla financing screwing things up? Picked up my car ~6 weeks ago, signed paperwork on pickup, then a couple days later they asked me to sign again because something happened to the paperwork, so I did. All of it has disappeared from the Tesla portal and I have no...

Vendor Know the Pros and Cons of Edge Wrapping Before You Get PPF

Hey @SunTek question about your reaction PPF, I had it installed on my model S, installer removed the spoiler, installed PPF, then re-attached the spoiler on top the film. a couple days later the spoiler flew off the back of my car on the highway. Is there something special they should have done...

I wish I was a little more educated on how to protect gains. I've always just bought and held stock, and now here I am sitting on almost 500k of unrealized gains... wtf do I do? I do not use margin, I don't need the money right now, and I'm under 40.

Any shade-tree mechanics here fix something like this themselves? I'm sick of Tesla service, I've tried to get them to fix it the last 4-5 times I've had the car in.

Yep, working on a latch/hook to keep it against the wall when not in use and used 4 lag bolts into the stud.

Home charging two cars, stupid or cool?

There will be absolutely no children using it as a jungle gym :D But I will keep an eye on the condition of the stud over time. I may add some horizontal bars to the wall to spread the load cross two studs instead of the one.

That is absolutely the way to go with a nice middle wall there and single car doors.

Home charging two cars, stupid or cool?

I've had my S for years, added a Model 3 for my Wife and didn't like having cables laying on the floor behind my car so I threw this thing together. Pay no attention to my dirty car :( Now I can pull in and out while leaving her car plugged in, and the cable never hits the ground.

Whatever you do skip the delkin cards. I don't remember where the recommendation for that brand came from but it was some blackvue forum or vendor. I burned out 3 delkin cards in less than 6 months, just total junk. Caused weird buggy things to happen too like bad audio in the recordings...

Minneapolis - Anyone Install a Dedicated EV Time of Use Meter?

I signed up for this and had a second panel/meter installed. My house only had a 100amp panel originally so when adding a new circuit for a wall charger my options were to upgrade the existing panel and service line, or add a second panel and additional service line from xcel. My electrician...

    70D vs. 90D Speed Regrets?

I didn't allow myself to test drive a 90D because I knew I'd be disappointed with the 70D I was planning on ordering if I did. Going from a 2003 v6 buick to a 70D I'm perfectly content with the speed, for now.

    factory 19" wheel cracked?

I picked up my new 70D at the end of September, and today while getting the car detailed and opti-coated the detailer pointed out a crack in one of the wheels. I'm not losing any air, but aside from that I don't know of any way to tell if this is structural or just a paint issue. Haven't hit...
