    2021 Q7 vs X ?

Hello - My Model S lease is up and we just had our second kid. So it is time to move on to an SUV. Obvious choice for me is the X, as I am a Tesla fanatic and own 2 Teslas currently. However, I just test drove the 2021 Q7 and was blown away by the interior. I had low expectations of the tech...

No traffic info on new Mode 3

I got my Model 3 last week. Also have a Model S. But I don’t see any traffic info on the Model 3 map, nor do I see the icon to toggle traffic and satellite mode. I see both in my S. Is this a Model 3 limitation or is it a bug ?

Will Tesla be the #1 luxury manufacturer in California in 2018 ?

While driving back from work the other day, I noticed the sheer number of Model 3s in the Bay Area. While there was always a ton of S and X, things seem to have moved another gear as the mass production of Model 3 becomes a reality. This got me thinking whether Tesla will be the leading luxury...

Folks renting out their cars in Turo - Please lower your price

I have an S, and I wanted to take the extended family on a road trip to Los Angeles next weekend. Wanted to rent an X from Turo, but the prices are out of control. $150-200/day with 200 miles of daily driving included. An SUV ICE rental costs $50/day with unlimited miles. I can't imagine a lot...

    Dramatic improvements in CA highways

I cannot be the only one noticing this. I just completed a 1000 mile round trip from Bay Area > San Diego > Healdsburg and looks like highway pavement conditions have dramatically improved. And whatever bad sections are left are under construction now. Pretty much all of the 300 miles of I-5...

    Voice Assistant and Tesla

It looks like a number of car manufacturers are announcing integration with Alexa or Google Assistant in CES. Here is one such example: Toyota and Lexus vehicles will add Amazon Alexa this year I have always thought that the voice capabilities in Tesla can be vastly improved. It is by far the...

Tesla is delivering on its Supercharger promise

I know Tesla gets a lot of grief in this areas for failing to deliver on Autopilot and FSD promises. As well as build quality and service experience. But I have to admit that Tesla is truly delivering in its Supercharger promise in California. As of today, two 40 stall SC stations went live in...

How many Teslas are in the Bay Area ?

Is there any way to find this information ? Just for curiosity. I have a 25 mile one way work commute from Peninsula to East Bay and probably see 25-30 Teslas on the road every day. That is crazy to me, but I still feel that the market here is not saturated yet.

AP2: 90% of my driving is using TACC - and it works great

Reading many of the threads here about people having issues with TACC and Autosteer, I am wondering if my experience is unique. These days, I would say 90% of my driving on freeways are on TACC. I have also recently completed a 800 mile round trip from Bay Area to San Diego, largely using TACC...

Trip Report - Bay Area to South Lake Tahoe and Napa

So, I got my car 3 weeks back and decided to experience my first road trip over the holidays. I spent 3 days in South Lake Tahoe and 2 days in Napa and experienced the encouraging EV support network in Northern California. Day 1: started from East Bay with full range, and the navigation...

Newbie - want to learn about charging

Hi All - I just picked up my S 60 yesterday. Pearl White, Sunroof, Premium Seats, Premium Package, AP 2 with Enhanced Autopilot. I have been on this site for a while, but just became an owner yesterday. I traded my X5 for the Tesla . This car is soooo much better than any other car I have owned...

Model X vs Model S early delivery issues

I read all the press coverage on the Model X early delivery issues, but I feel we went through a similar phase with the Model S launch as well. Remember the New York Times article that became a lightning rod and could have potentially killed the brand in early days of Model S ? Can someone, who...

    A new electric design paradigm

A lot of discussion in this thread centers around the design choices made in Model 3, especially the front nose and the interiors. I believe Tesla is slowly but surely introducing a new design paradigm - one that is based on the principles of electric car, autonomous driving, technology first...
