I had this with 42.1 and they replaced my entire steering rack and electronic power steering system. It happened RIGHT after updating the vehicle without moving it an inch - seemed impossible that it was something unrelated to the software... but they just couldn't fix it without replacing all...

@Treasure I'm in the same boat on app access... I called Raleigh SC yesterday and they said it's taking about a week (I got my car last friday). Can't wait to avoid the annoying keycard. Otherwise, the car is f-ing amazing.

I think I'm in the same boat as many of you. Fully paid down payment. Dropped off the paperwork Tuesday to the Raleigh Sales Office (someone from Wilmington was there, too -- one of you? :)) including the Title application, financing agreement, power of attorney, etc. Just waiting to find out...

I dropped off my paperwork today and paid the balance... expecting to receive the car before the end of the month for them to get it into Q3, but if not next week would be just fine. As always, the people working at the Raleigh Sales Center were really nice and helpful... all of the pain...

Hmm, so how are you supposed to inspect the vehicle or refuse delivery if there are any big problems if you've already signed and paid? Hoping it goes smoothly for you (and that the weather cooperates... make sure you park that thing in a solid structure before the hurricane hits!)

Yep, same guy - and I replied right away too -- with no response yet either. I'm expecting at least a 24 hour turnaround on emails, which isn't fun. Not at all like the buying an S experience was.

I was out at the Raleigh Service Center getting my Model S serviced on Saturday... had a long convo about their woes there -- you can tell the staff is a little frustrated because they can't push vehicles through as quickly as they'd like, and no one is too happy about the Charlotte thing. But...

I'm waiting for an M3 as well... (Current model S owner, configured 8/6, reservation from day 1). The site just asked me to enter all the financing info, etc, but no VIN listed yet. Current state on the site is to wait for a delivery date. I think I'm more anxious about getting the model 3...

I have a 2016 S70D and am switching to a 3. A smaller car with more nimble handling (in addition to updated tech and IMO, better looks), not to mention lower price, made it a good fit for me.

I ended up going non-P... the config I wanted had a $13.5k difference in price (80k vs 66.5k) and I was getting a second faster to 60, better brakes, a lowered suspension, a spoiler, a higher top speed... I could easily see this being worth the money to some people, but I'm not a track person...

There's a good ChaDeMo charger in Hickory at the Nissan Dealership, and they're friendly. If you're headed that way, you're welcome to borrow my adapter (I'm in Raleigh).

I got the update overnight last night without any trips near a Service Center.. could be that the rollout is picking up steam. Overall, it's really nice and more than I was expecting. The new UI is much more pleasant to look at. Some of the already pointed-out audio stuff is a problem but...

I've been having a number of screen freeze/reboot issues under 2.20.30 as well. Yesterday morning, the click sound for my left turn indicator started repeating very fast (7 or 8 per second), then both screens froze up. Had to reboot then, again yesterday after work, and again last night...

How about the reverse trip -- if you're going from Raleigh to New Bern and back, where are people picking up a charge? There's a destination charger in New Bern, but not sure how busy it might be.

I'm due to take delivery tomorrow on a 70D (but probably won't because of the weather here in NC)... but I wrote to ask about lease payments (thanks to this thread) and they're down from what I was original quoted by $59/mo - 15k miles. Happy!

Even though the my.teslamotors site tells me that my car is still in production, my DS told me today that the car was finished yesterday and loaded onto a truck today. Wonder if they're just not as good about keeping up with status...

My vehicle is currently in production, and is taking (not really surprsingly) longer than they had been taking prior to the holidays. 16 days now... and unless other people aren't updating the spreadsheet, similar start date is taking longer. I hope this means some new gravy is being included...
