Thanks Dborn. I took the car into NSC yesterday to get it inspected and they seem very professional and knowledgeable and thorough. Only downside is that they need to have the car for 12 days to fix the damage. But they do provide a free loan car, which makes up for it.

The new wall connector has been installed and is all good! There must have been a problem with the old unit. My electrician was very relieved :) Thanks everyone for their input.
