Activating Tesla's Photochromic Rear View Mirror ?

Some new LIN info from playing with a rear-view mirror from a 2015 Model S. I've been able to get a response from the mirror over the LIN bus, but still testing how or if it is activating, so that it will dim automatically (i.e. lighting conditions are right). Mirror has 5 wires... - Black ...

AC Compressor, PTC Air Heater, and Body Control Module

I've got spares from my EV Conversion project (TesLorean - Delorean with Tesla technology) that I cannot use (PTC too large for DeLorean, AC Compressor is CAN driven, BMC not needed). All the parts come from a salvaged 2017 MS 70D. Note : the AC Compressor and PTC Heater are CAN controlled...

    The TesLorean

[BTW : Looking for Tesla Axles!!!] I got the Brusa NLG513 Charger programming working today. It is a 3.3kW charger from a 2010 EV Ford Transit from the UK. It can charge a battery up to 500v,, and runs on 120-240v AC. Some challenges getting a PC to talk to the charger via RS232 (software...

I am looking for a set of axles compatible with the 70D rear motor. I have an intermediate shaft (from the front motor) that fits the rear drive unit output - so I know the dimensions. I'll be modifying the Tesla inner axle/cv and combining it with the outer axle/cv from the DeLorean. Of...

    Wanted 70D Rear Axles

Looking for both rear axles from a xxD (e.g. 70D). Really interested in the inner CV Joints, rest of axle not important. I'm building a custom set of axles for an EV conversion and need the inner CV Joints compatible with the 2015 70D rear motor.

Rebuilding, upgrading the rear suspension. Left side assembled. Interesting notes... - New inconel bolt for the trailing arm (the stock bolt can bend and brake - a dangerous failure) - Adjustable shocks (ride height and response rate)

Quick update on the TesLorean project... Lots of powder coating on rear suspension parts and calipers. Getting closer to putting the wheel back on and starting the body/frame separation. Surprising what you can achieve with a toaster over, besides just toast. Got some new Tesla parts 1)...

Ingineer... stop teasing me :) I've actually fuzzed the SCCM for too many hours hoping to catch a frame that might elicit a response, but to no luck (is it just me or does Tesla over-engineer the data/frames doing simple things?). Other than a CAN frame, there are not that many other ways to...

    The TesLorean

Just for shits and giggles I hooked up the Forward Camera to SavvyCAN to see what would happen. Not a lot. Two set of CAN lines in. It outputs ID 0x02C9 on CAN-EQ (which runs to the blind spot / adaptive cruise control module. It produces one data byte every second, the byte value is 0x02...

WHY DOES THE REAR VIEW MIRROR HAVE LIN? Working on the rear view mirror next. It is a Magna Donnelly make A048070 model 026664/046664. It activates the dimming in the left and right side mirrors. It also carries a LIN connection that runs between the mirror and the center main display. On...

Got some new Tesla parts to play with... - Yaw sensor (CAN connected) - Rain and light sensor (LIN connected) - Forward camera (with mobileye chip) (CAN x2) - Airbox air temperature sensors - Accelerator pedal (made by FoMoCo!) - Rearview mirror (CAN connected) - Lay (intermediate) shaft -...

I got the Tesla steering column to produce some CAN (note had to provide power and ground to the CAN and LIN connections). The only levers that are producing CAN frames so far is the Park button and the steering column adjustment lever (up, down, in, out). The frame IDs produced are 0404, 03...

It might be, but there are unanswered questions about using CAN for motor control for motors from the AWD cars. There is also some uncertainty about how and when EVTV would offer a CAN based solution. Their current plan seems to be to bundle motors and an array of controller, displays, etc...

They look sort of trashy in a sexy kind of way, and like most lingerie they won't be seen by the public. The stock DeLorean wheels hide the calipers, but don't have to stay stock under the surface :)

It works!. The iBooster from the Tesla 70D with autopilot. I made a video last night - but Internet connectivity problems kept me from uploading - coming soon. I left the Yaw and CAN2 unconnected and just put +12V on the Motor power, ECU power, and Ignition_On. Tried it with and without...

Hi DrDave, I'm located in Katy TX (30 miles west of Downtown Houston - hehe makes it sound like its in the country). (DrDave, Ingineer) Yes, Yes, Yes. I'm going to need a bunch of help. Was that the electric delorean built by Dr Dave? It is was, I remember finding some videos of the car back in 2012. I'm pretty sure he was the first conversion. He was one my inspirations for starting this journey. I wanted to convert a car and then saw the Electric DeLorean - and with my...

The closest I've seen on hotrod builds is adding a reluctor ring and hall effect sensor. Actually that gives me an idea. I might be able to replace the angle drive (the right-angle gear that on the inboard side of the driver's side front hub) with a dakota digital detector. That would remove...

    The TesLorean

True - I'm going to double detect the road speed 1) physical cable from the front wheel and 2) GPS module. The physical cable and the right-angle gearing that it goes through has a mixed reliability history. It's connection to the front hub is a plastic disk - I kid you not. Either the 1/8...

Ingineer : That's an awsome find. Thanks! I've been digging for that for days. Yep, boost only, I can't do ABS or Traction Control since I don't have individual wheel speeds. The DeLorean is from the era where a physical cable connected to the front wheel hub ran up to the back of the...

    The TesLorean

Ingineer : The iBooster will be the biggest pain. Until I either succeed or give up, I can use a vacuum pump and reservoir with the DeLorean's existing brake system. I am guessing, but, I think that replacing the motor control on the iBooster is likely to be the most viable route rather than...

    The TesLorean

Skotty : The stock Delorean is estimated to have about 105hp at the wheels (maybe 115hp at the flywheel). While I'm using only one motor out of the 70D, it shoud (given a suitable battery design) provide much greater HP (maybe 250hp) than original. Very customized DeLorean engines (known as...

Figuring out the Bosch iBooster brake system (autopilot cars) - Starting with Physical Wiring The Black and Yellow-Grey are likely the power to the unit (probably 12v, but sized for high current maybe 20-30 amps). Four wires run between the ECU and the pedal travel sensors (seem heavy gauge for...

    The TesLorean

The TesLorean project is to integrate technology (including the drive unit) from a Model S into a DeLorean DMC-12. The DeLorean is rear-wheel drive and rear engined. This isn't going to be easy or quick, but it is going to be fun. On the exterior it will - to the casual observer - appear to...
