Unfortunately the battery issue is a random problem that doesn't give much warning. You can watch for an increase in voltage differential on the modules in the pack via canbus (TM-Spy, etc), which will give some warning. It won't be enough to get Tesla to act, but it can give you some warning.

Root is not required for the repair I offer and it typically only takes a couple of days. Drive unit repair or replacement also doesn't need root.

Wow, $11k for a refurbished pack. All the packs I've repaired/refurbished to date have been $1500* or less. * as long as none of the modules have dropped below 2v (if the car can still drive they are all above 2.8v)

When I refurbish/repair a battery, you are keeping the same pack and modules as long as its fixed before the failing blocks voltage drops too low. The repairs I have done resulted in only a 4 to 5 mile loss of range. Not bad since my repair cost is considerably less than what the OP was quoted...

From what I can tell this happens on "in house" built TAS modules (built by Tesla). That switch over started mid 2016. Older modules didn't have this issue (Continental built). The two different modules are not plug compatible.

Yes, I've been able to resolve all the other errors. FYI I can clear crash data from the airbag/SRS module myself successfully. It's just the TAS/air suspension module seems to store a DTC that I haven't figured out how to clear. I figure it's a CAN command, but if anyone has figured it out...

This was found during the permitting process, prior to permit approval. Permit was approved May 31st, so less than a month since they got the go-ahead to build. Hopefully we see them starting within the next few weeks.
