Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My 5 cents: I've been an investor in Tesla for years and it worked out quite nicely. Always spoke to friends and family about the company but never recommended them to buy stock, just because I didn't want them to get pissed if the stock goes down in the short term. After Battery Day, I am...

Anybody have the link to track Elon's airplane? A German website is reporting rumors of Elon visiting Giga Berlin on Tuesday or Wednesday: Parkplatz und Zelt für Giga Berlin – Tesla-Chef soll kommen > teslamag.de

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I was curios to hear that Elon's biggest concern right now is, that their cars are too expensive. Do you think long term they could be aiming at lowering the Model 3's price to $30,000 and Model Y to something like $35,000? Would make Model 3 steal even more sales from the Toyota Corolla :D I...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Could this mean they have started production on their new battery type? Maybe they used the Fremont pilot cell production line to accumulate enough batteries for S and X. I don’t think they could achieve 250 kW with the current 18650 cells. I think it would be typical for Elon to announce on...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Just visited Giga Berlin, not much going on. Huge construction site which really seems to be located at a nice spot strategically. Highway right next to it and access to the railway. Also nice to see that they use pre-fabricated steel pillars. edit: forgot to add the pictures

Heading to Grünheide to see the Gigafactory now. Will keep you updated but I doubt I’ll be able to get better pictures then the ones that are already on Twitter.

Noob question: How can I with a German brokerage account attend the shareholder meeting in September? What is required besides owning a share? I have family in the US, would it help if they bought shares in my name?

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Officials in Brandenburg described the negotiations with Musk as an emotional roller-coaster ride, with the politicians struggling to read the billionaire’s intentions. But by last week, things were looking up. After Musk arrived in Berlin, he toured the location where the factory would sit, and...

That's not what the article says. The author is speculating, here is the exact quote: "According to information obtained by the Global Times, the estimated weekly output will be 2,900 units at the phase-1 factory complex. So with six weeks left in the year, the factory could make 17,400 of the...

Last update: Saw Elon 10 meters from us. Politely asked the security if we could take a picture, they said no. We left him alone. On the one hand super awesome to see him up close, on the other hand a bit disappointing to be so close and then not get a picture. Oh well, next time. These are...

By the way, just found out that today is the "Goldene Lenkrad 2019 Verleihung". Basically a car award from the german newspaper Autobild. Model 3 is nominated and Elon attended the show in 2014 and 2016. Pretty sure he will be there this evening and probably accept an award for Model 3.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think the Cybertruck will be an awesome product but hitting 1k per week production in China will likely have a bigger impact on stock price. I think Wall Street will see this as another product added to the pipeline while they currently aren't even producing the Semi, Roadster or Y. Obviously...

Quick note regarding the Model Y prototype that was spotted in the wild today. The first time we saw a Model X prototype was in February of 2015. Model X entered production 7 months later. The first time we saw a Model 3 prototype was in April of 2017. Model 3 entered production 3 months later...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Vincent on Twitter According to this tweet, Model S and X Performance versions saw a price drop of 40 and 50k in China. I think they are trying to sell as many as possible before the refresh in April.
  31. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I am sticking to my theory that they will upgrade the S and X in April.
  32. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Interesting, when you configure a Model 3 in Germany they have an option to also order Solar Panels and a Powerwall. This is the way we are headed.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Closing most of the stores is a genius move. They can shift the people working in sales to deliveries and service. This way they solved three problems: -price reduction that allows Model 3 SR -delivery hell -service hell
  34. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I think you are overestimating the amount of people that believe the $35k Model 3, Autopilot HW3, Supercharger v3 and a Model S/X refresh will come. Most people expect one of these things but not all of them. So if Tesla were to unveil all of these things, I think you could see the stock rise.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I like the Polestar 2. They shouldn't have used puch cells and I am not 100% convinced of the design but I like the direction they are going. Much better then the Audi e-tron or Mercedes EQC. I just wish they would partner with Tesla on the Supercharger network but unfortunately it seems like...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

My guess is they will reveal Supercharger V3. They already said that they plan to roll them out in early 2019 which would fit. max. 250 kW 0-80% in 20 min 20-80% in 15 min You heard it here first:p
  39. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Regarding Model Y unveil: I think they will show us the car once Model 3 SR enters production. I think Elon and the team are doing everything they can to get there and it will be in July. Model Y will create a lot of buzz similar to when Model 3 was unveiled and actually create more demand for...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Take a calculator, type in the amount of vehicles Tesla will sell this year and multiply that number by the size of the average battery pack. There you go that's the amount of batteries they will need based on what we know. Now if Panasonic is saying they are producing more batteries then we...
  42. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

No they didn't. They said they currently have no plans to switch to 2170s for S and X which by the way doesn't mean that it's not coming. Sorry but I see absolutely zero chance of the S and X not getting more range this year. It's been a while since they got any sort of upgrade and it would...
  43. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If Tesla produces 300k Model 3 this year at roughly 65 kWh per pack (don't forget SR is coming and will have 55 kWh) they will need 19.5 GWh for Model 3. They will only use 2-3 GWh for TE. This lines up with my expectation that they will introduce a LR Model S and X with 400 miles of range...

HAHAHAHA can't share details about future products. Sorry but I am willing to bet more range cars coming in April! You can hear it in his voice. Although I was surprised that they have no plans to switch to 2170s.
  46. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That also sounds like they will have some capacity for changing the S and X to 2170s. 2 GWh is nothing for a completely new manufacturing line, weren't their older lines doing something like 5-7 GWh each?
  47. PaulRocket

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Yeah of course it will be called Long Range or sth like that. The point is I still think they will introduce a battery pack with at least 400 mi of range.
