    Buzzing static noise

I'm not sure which wires @mr_x100d. But, they did fix the problem completely. They also transferred the clamps to the new MCU after a swap last month due to a daughterboard failure. Here is a screenshot of the repair for the audio system.

Vendor WTB Model 3 Dual Motor (non-performance)

I trust the TMC forum members as a reliable starting point. Our hope is to work with a current M3 owner who is considering a trade-in. But, you're right, Tesla inventory cars make sense and would be a safe bet.

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

Yes, I am experienced in the use of plastics on automobiles. Either way, though, I think it's cool that you made your own part using a 3D plastic printer. We've seen several other Tesla owners make some plastic gadgets as well.
  5. chadcristi

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

Hmmm. My Tesla has NO parts made using a 3D plastic printer. The Bandit, from what I can tell, is made from a stronger plastic material and cut using a special CNC router.

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

Just looked at the product link you provided in your post. Are you making SnapPlate out of plastic using a 3D printer?

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

Just don't stick that 3M tape that comes with the black plastic stock bracket on your front bumper if you have PPF or ceramic coating. Those don't play well together at all. :(

    The Bandit vs Slipstream Bracket

Slipstream Bracket is the only one that's NOT plastic. It was designed in Colorado and holds up perfectly in sub-zero temperatures - doesn't become brittle at all. It's made out of rust-proof material (aluminum and stainless steel) that is not affected by road salts, gravel and mag chloride...

Anyone taking delivery of Model Y this week?

Why do you think this is the case? Toured Superior last Sunday and everything appears to be up and running. We're supposed to take delivery at the Superior location. No VIN yet.

    Front License Plate Solution

I respect your opinion concerning various "solutions" for displaying a front license plate on a Tesla. However, for others who read this post, the claims you make are not accurate. The bracket from ThatGrin does NOT mount directly to the plastic veins as you claim. The unit has two arms that...

Most tempting feature with the model update

Have you tried running in the "Low" suspension setting? Seemed to greatly reduce shudder and, after 16K miles, no noticeable abnormal tire wear.

    Front license plate Model 3

Tesla must be the preferred EV of the islands. LOTS of shipments going to Hawaii in the past several weeks! With FREE Priority shipping from Colorado, your Slipstream Bracket should be delivered in 3 days. BTW, awesome looking P3D+!

    Front license plate frame adhesive

I don't have the specific links handy, but I've read about it in multiple threads. It makes sense to me because the efficiency of the Tesla drivetrain is very dependent upon keeping those batteries and motors cool. I'm not aware of any short-term damage anyone has experienced (other than the...
  16. chadcristi

    Front license plate frame adhesive

Blocks 40% of the air intake. Short term probably okay. Long-term efficiency, reliability and warranty of the EV drivetrain could definitely be a problem.
  17. chadcristi

    Front license plate frame adhesive

I've heard that the 3M adhesive tape is very sticky and permanent if the surface application is clean and without paint protection film. You get one shot with those stick-on plate holders. For those looking to remove it, most detail shops that apply paint protection film to the front bumper...

    Front license plate frame adhesive

Interesting! Did you test drive a M3 or MS? I've only seen adhesive type in black plastic for Model 3.

    Front license plate Model 3

Here's an option worth looking at: The Slipstream Bracket for Model 3 requires NO adhesives, NO holes, NO magnets and it installs securely in about 2-3 minutes. Really easy! It allows full, unobstructed airflow into the cool air intakes and it directs wind force, vibration and road shock away...

    Temporary Front License Plate Solutions

Yah, 600 suction cups - not for me. Not on the front end of my $60,000.00 Tesla. BTW, I like the Titanium Silver Metallic. A real keeper!

    Temporary Front License Plate Solutions

I tried the suction cups. They're fine, but those degrade over time and don't hold very well when dirty. May want to check out the Slipstream Bracket. It works better because it doesn't require drilling, sticky tape or lots of tools to put it on.

A BETTER NO-drilling, NO-adhesives Front License Plate Mounting Solution

Yes. The OEM bracket would have to come off in order to have PPF installed properly. Those guys are experienced with putting the adhesive backed brackets on correctly. Be sure to have them do your headlights and driving lights if you have it done. Those plastic parts take a beating.

A BETTER NO-drilling, NO-adhesives Front License Plate Mounting Solution

None that I can think of. The factory bracket for Model S is, by far, the best of the three models. X and 3 are not nearly as nice. The Model S bracket should work fine if you don't plan to ever remove it.

A BETTER NO-drilling, NO-adhesives Front License Plate Mounting Solution

No worries. I appreciate your perspective with regard to stick-on plastic license plate holders and your experience of owning a body shop. I certainly do not take your opinion as an insult to this product. For those who may not know, all three currently available Tesla models vary greatly in...

Model X requires drilling. Model 3 uses tape.

A BETTER NO-drilling, NO-adhesives Front License Plate Mounting Solution

Factory bracket can NOT be removed and installed on demand - it's an eyesore and is always there unless you want to keep prying it off and replacing the tape every time. Plus, the factory adhesive doesn't always hold unless the contours are perfect (which they are not on every car). Some...

    Front license plate Model 3

Yah, same here in Colorado. The meter maids are notorious for writing tickets. Now they're doing it at the airport when you enter. Those new license plate recognition cameras are popping up all over. I hate the thought of having to pay a $100 ticket and not have anything to show for it. I...

    Front license plate Model 3

Nothing necessarily "wrong" with the plastic stick-on piece that comes with the car. It just doesn't give you the flexibility to attach it when needed and remove it when desired (like for car washes, cars with paint protection film, etc.) The Slipstream Bracket is different from the other...

A BETTER NO-drilling, NO-adhesives Front License Plate Mounting Solution

As the owners of a Model X and Model S, we dreaded the thought of drilling holes through our bumper or applying strong adhesives to the finish just to mount a license plate in an effort to avoid the cost and hassle of being ticketed. Previously, we had taken the chance of running "naked" for...
