How quickly does your screen dim?

But having Display Brightness on the right thumbwheel doesn't give me the ability to switch the mode from Day to Night; it's only able to adjust the dimming in the current mode. And the 0% brightness in Day mode is much brighter than 0% in Night mode. My problem is not that the screen is too...

How quickly does your screen dim?

In all of my other cars I've had, when I drive under a bridge or through a dark tunnel, the screens instantly switch to night mode and the headlights come on. In my Model X, I have to be in the dark for quite some time before the car figures out (if it ever figures out) that it's dark. The...

    3 Beep alarm!

I believe this happens to me when I get out of my car, leave the door open, and press the fob lock spot (top) only once. Not sure if it's the same three beep alarm everyone else is describing.

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

Burbank. My VIN is in the mid-300s. I still hear the ridiculous "jet engine noise" from under the hood when I'm standing outside, but I don't hear metallic noises coming from the interior vents anymore.

Very loud fan noise from frunk area with AC on...

I brought my Model X to the Service Center last week to fix this issue plus a few others. When my advisor called me today to pick up the car, he said that they were unable to reproduce the sound. I insisted that the problem existed, and that he should have someone drive the car around in today's...

Is anyone else hating the auto door open upon keyfob unlock?

I truly hope I'm missing something, because I can't find a setting to disable the driver's door from opening when I unlock my Model X from the keyfob. This may be the worst feature I've seen Tesla implement, because there's no control over it. Three days ago I was walking to my Model X that was...

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

I'm happy to report that only that small glass section needed replacing, and Tesla did not charge me for it. The receipt noted "one time goodwill" for the $0 charge rather than "warranty." Almost everything in my car is now working as expected. The only two issues I still have are the unwieldy...

Anyone else annoyed by the software controlling seat movement and positioning?

I despise the second row seat controls and apparent SkyNet control of them. The goal of my second row seats is to crush the legs of my third-row passengers, inconvenience my front row passenger, and embarrass my 2nd row passengers when their "unlatched" seats require the equally embarrassed...

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

JohnSnowNW wins this round. Sorry, Drivin. Zero damage to the parking garage concrete. Not even a mark. I'm looking forward to you presenting some examples of other CUVs and SUVs that open their own upward-moving doors mechanically with a double-click of the keyfob, that sense surrounding...

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

As best I can tell, you are correct, Jeff. Here are some better photos of the damage (which appears to only be that small cosmetic glass section): As to everyone who is deciding on my behalf whether I should pay or Tesla should pay, I never even brought that up nor stated an opinion. So...

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

Oh, you mean like this? When you park the car, are you seeing the falcon wing door icons greyed out (but not the front doors) in the door controls screen that displays? But you can still open them from the outside from the door handle?

Crunch! Falcon Wing Doors fail to sense obstacle

I guess the honeymoon on my Model X is over :(

Post Initial Problems with the Model X

This thread is very helpful! I mean this sincerely, Mark Z - thank you for "taking one for the team"! It's unfortunate your Model X had to have so many issues, but by letting other owners know what to look for, you've made it so much easier for us to be prepared when we take our own delivery...

Rear view visability - smaller FOV camera option?

I meant a video rearview mirror camera. Apologies for being imprecise!

Rear view visability - smaller FOV camera option?

It's a shame the Model X isn't going to come with a video reverse camera like the Chevy Bolt or Cadillac XT5. Do you think it's possible to install an aftermarket Gentex Full Display Mirror or something similar?

My 15 Issues with the Model X, that I found during delivery

If I'm lucky enough to receive my Model X before mid-March when the California $2,500 CARB rebate can no longer be taken by people with higher incomes, and I notice problems at the service center, will I be able to take delivery anyway in order to get the rebate, license plates, and white HOV...

Rear view visability - smaller FOV camera option?

Makes me wonder if I should have configured the 6-seat version instead of the 7-seat. How will I see out that back window when it's already so small and the spoiler blocks part of it? I can't imagine how much that center headrest will block the view even more.

What exterior color did you order for your Model X?

I couldn't decide between Midnight Silver Metallic, Solid Black, Titanium Metallic, or Red Multi-Coat. But then I was able to see the red, black, and midnight in person on a Model S and saw titanium online. Felt the red was "too red," which is too bad because Signature Red looks gorgeous! Too...

    Wiki Model X FAQ (wiki)

This is a very helpful thread! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to it. I'm waiting on my Production P90D that hopefully will arrive by March. This thread and others have made me feel very comfortable getting this vehicle without ever having seen it in person.
