    Does basic AP change langes?

We have a 2018 Model 3 with Enhanced AP and a 2023 Model X with basic AP. Our 3 month trial of FSD is just over and now I'm dealing with basic AP on our X and I just found out that it doesn't change lanes when I turn on the turn signal while AP is engaged. Is it true that basic AP doesn't allow...

Likelihood of increased accidents due to the stupid horn?

I have a 23 MX with the stupid horn. I got a close call yesterday where I had to look for the horn to honk at the driver in opposite traffic to prevent a head on collision. Fortunately I had enough time. So it’s just a scare. What will it take for Tesla to come up with a solution?

    MXLR 1000 mile trip impression

Hi All, We just completed a 1000 mile trip in our 2 month old MXLR. Overall it was a great experience. We came from a Model 3 LR RWD and this trip gave us quite a different impression about road tripping. Our trip consisted of going from the Bay Area to San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara to Los...

    Referral credit for premium connectvity

Hi all, We got our MXLR 2 months ago and it came with 1 yr of premium connectivity. We also have 5000 referral credits which can pay for 2 years of connectivity. Can I apply the credit now and be set for the next 2-3 years? Anyone tried that? Thanks.

Model 3 and Model X insurance

We have Geico for our car insurance. Currently we pay $756 (6 months) for our 23MXLR and $715 for our 18 Model 3 LR RWD. It just boggles my mind how little difference there is between them. What are you paying?

    23 MXLR energy consumption

Picked up my new MXLR 2 weeks ago in the Bay Area. I charged it up to 90% that night which gave me 313 miles. Long story short, we drove only 106 because the car was at the service center for a suspension issue. After 2 weeks, now the car has 107 miles left. I noticed the battery drained a lot...

    Model 3 losing charge quickly

Hi, My wife and I have 2 model 3's bought 3 months apart, in Jan 2018 and April 2018. I've noticed that her car keeps her charge quite a lot better than mine. For example, I charged mine 2 nights ago up to 272 miles at 90%, and I drove 55 miles yesterday. Today when I checked just now, it's now...

Frustrating charging experience in Southern California

I’m writing this post as I’m sitting in line for supercharging at Hawthorne. I drove here because the in car display said 5 of 12 stalls available. Also, it indicated 250 kW max. When I got here, I was number 8 in line and there were 2 stalls with 250 kW charging capacity. One of them was...

After a few dozen car washes, my car has inevitably incurred some fines scratches and swirls. If I have some polish out the scratches, will I have to reapply the ceramic coating?

What’s an acceptable amount of vampire drain?

Lately I’ve noticed a much larger amount of vampire drain. Overnight it’d lose 15 miles easily. I also expect Tesla to tell me it’s normal. So what’s normal?

    Geico insurance increase

We just got the Geico statement for the next 6 months. Our 2 tesla and 1 Lexus household, has seen an increase from $1100 to $1450. The model 3’s we have used to cost around $330 each for 6 months. It’s now $550. Anyone seen this? I just got off the phone with them. Of course they told me it’s...

Proper way to use climate control

Sometimes my kids nap in the car and I’d just park in the garage and leave the doors open. However, after 20-30 mins the AC would shut down as if it thinks no one is in the car. So I would set the climate control to ON but inevitably after a while the AC would start blasting to level 8 or 9...

    CA state EV credit

We’re considering another Tesla. However, we’ve already taken advantage of the $2500 CA state tax credit twice last year already. If we buy another, are we still eligible for it again? Also, have there been income requirement changes? Thanks for your input.

MASTER THREAD: USB drives that work with Sentry and TeslaCam

A few days ago this message showed up: “Dashcam: USB drive is too slow to save-please use a drive with higher write speed” Then I tried to format the usb stick but it still didn’t work. The worked flawlessly for months until now. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    Front dash scratches

While trying to use some wipes to wipe down the dust on the front dash, I managed to leave some scratches that don’t seem to want to go away. Has anyone had this happen? Any resolution? Thanks.

    Dashcam not recording

Sorry if it’s been discussed to death but we just started using the USB dashcam. After formatting the USB, the dashcam would record just fine for the first drive. However, when left the car and came back, the dashcam icon would be crossed out and it would no longer record. What’s the solution...

    V9 dashcam

I got the V9 update but wasn’t sure how to install the usb properly. I reread the instructions from Tesla but couldn’t figure out how to reformat my usb. I renamed the usb as TeslaCam but couldn’t get it to work. Can someone lend a helping hand? Thanks for your help.

    Aero wheel cap kit question

For those of you who have purchased the aero wheel kit, is the center cap the same as the one on the original aero wheel? If so, is it possible to just take it off of the actual aero wheel and just slap on a few black plastic lug nut covers? I’m not sure I’m patient enough to wait months for a kit.

Unicorn P90(with upgraded 90 kWh battery from 85) with AP 1

For your consideration is a later 2014 Multi Coat Red Tesla Model S P85 with AP1. I bought it as a CPO from Tesla just 4 months ago and am realizing it's too big of a car for me as we have another vehicle to take the kids. It's got all the options including: Unlimited Lifetime Supercharging...

    Selling Model 3 reservation?

I've noticed a few posts on Craigslist for model 3 reservation rights for as high as $10k. For one, my understanding is that it's not transferable. For another, is it just me or are people out of their minds to think they can make $10k just flipping their reservation?

Range anxiety on loaner P90X loaner

Hi, I'm new to Tesla overall, and my model s is getting work done at the service center and I got a signature P90X loaner. It sure is an upgrade. However, I've been quite anxious about the range on this car since I got it about a month ago. We live in tha Bay Area and we took a day trip...

My very disappointing CPO delivery experience

I picked up the car yesterday and must say I had a very disappointing experience. The issues are as follow: 1: I noticed at least 20 rock chips on the hood (with a giant 1 in the middle) and it didn't seem like the reconditioning crew even bother to touch it up. 2: The panoroof makes an...

How good was your CPO deal?

Forum member iluvmacs inspired me to think of this thread: how good was your CPO deal during the "fire sale week"? Everyone likes a good deal. I thought I had a good one and honestly that's why I pulled the trigger rather than waiting for the model 3. Mine is a 2013 P85 with tan seats, pano...

CPO purchase update or the lack thereof

I placed an order on the Tesla website for a P85 on 6/13/17 and I was notified that I'd be contacted by a delivery specialist. So far it's been nothing. Just made the plunge

Hi all, After going back and forth in the past 2 yrs, I put down the deposit for one of the CPO Model S P85's. I thought it was a good deal. It's a 2013 has 40k miles so it'll come with the 4 yr or 50k mile warranty. It doesn't have AP which I can live with because I'll just love driving the...

    Question about federal credit

I understand that the state credit is given at delivery and for CA, we get the full $2500. But for the federal credit of $7500, assuming we still get the full credit before the phaseout, how do we get paid? And will it actually be the full amount or will we just get taxed $7500 less from our...

    Falcon wing door concerns

As I stated on another thread yesterday, my family went for a test drive in an X. The drive was great except for the misinformation we got about the second and third row seats. 2nd and 3rd row seating for car seats and real people

We went to a local showroom today to test drive X. We're a family of 5, and 6 in a few weeks with our second child. So it's 4 adults and 2 car seats altogether. Since the 6th member is still in the tummy, we wanted to see how the x actually would fit our family. Before going on the test drive, I...

    What to choose......

Hi all, I'm considering a Model S. I'm not a stereotypical MS owner with a lot of disposable income so I have to choose carefully.
