    Trunk Opens By Itself

Just got the following text from Tesla service. I gave them a date/time when rear hatch randomly opened and they were able to track it down to the key fob. Issue hasn’t happened again since using my other fob. Greetings, this is Brian - the diagnostic technician reviewing your service request...

    Trunk Opens By Itself

No fob means it’s in my pocket but not being pressed. I changed the fob battery today but still same issue with hatch and battery door opening. I figured it out the hard way about closing the hatch. Got out of my car at the stop light, closed the latch and by the time I got back in the car it...

    Trunk Opens By Itself

Reviving this thread. Does anyone know if Tesla has fixed this issue? My Model S hatch has been popping open randomly for about a month now. Also the same for the charge port. Typically it’s when I’m getting out of my car. No fob involved. Today I was at a traffic light in drive and the hatch...

Plaid For Daily Driving In San Francisco

I got rid of my 3 for a S almost three years ago. Never any regret. It’s just a better overall car for me. I hated the jarring ride of the 3. I could never get comfortable in that car. To me it would be worth the switch even if it’s harder to get around in the city.

I was told by a couple shops that they don’t do Tesla alignment. So I made an appointment with the dealer. They came back with an estimate of $275! I canceled the appointment and will check around with a few more shops. Any suggestions?

    2022.20

The green light chime works well but has at least 1 serious bug. I’m in the left turn lane and light is red. The light for traffic going straight turns green and I hear the chime. Turn lane light is still red. This has happened twice. I guess the software can’t tell if the car is in a turning lane.

    Model S Tires

New tires installed yesterday. Discount Tire sales guy told me my tires are unsafe. I don’t know but didn’t want to mess with it. I have a 2020 MS that was in for service today. The story I got from the tech is that cars with a vertical oriented screen did not get the blind spot feature. It may come in a future update. My guess is it’s something to do with the UI layout. Bummer.

Model S - still #1 selling large luxury sedan in US

I don’t get the comparison of a Mercedes S class and Model S. S class starts at $94k with no options. For that price it should have a more luxurious interior. Model S starts at $80k. After that Mercedes is much more expensive to maintain and operate - thousands of dollars a year more.
