Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

Well a couple of apartments. But, who's counting..... In reality. Many of the homeowners that have space. View it as a long term investment. As the project is going to cost them 150-250k to build the ADU in their property. But, not only does that increase the value of their homes. It also gives...

Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

Im sorry what? My father is a contractor in socal and I can assure you that development is going on. The state has forced cities and municipalities to allow rezoning and ADU's. Many developers have bought homes or warehouses with big parcels and made lots of town home in their place. I have...

Blog Musk Says Fremont Factory Has Started Production Despite County Order

If he did this from the get-go. He would have been hailed as a hero. If he was wrong or right. But threatening California in such a way. When CARB policies made his vision possible comes out as arrogant.

Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

Trust, me. I have been to Nevada, Wyoming, Arizona and Utah. It's a feeling. I had never experienced before in my life. You feel peoples disapproval and unspoken truth. It was unnerving coming from Socal. The only place I have ever felt such a way was in Flaggstaff. Although their are pockets...

Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

Wow. People seem to forget that the cause of high real estate prices in California is not due so much on policy or regulations. But, lack of places to build more homes. Otherwise known as supply and demand. After the great recession of 2008 California had a influx of investors mainly from Asia...

Blog Tesla Will Move HQ Out of California After Fight Against Health Order

He's crazy if he thinks hes going to get the same type of support outside California. Tesla is often described as a tech company that happens to build cars. Silicon valley makes this possible in no part due to the diversity and talent found in silicon valley. Not to mention that countless...

    I retrofit MCU2, IC2, Tuner2, and FSD Computer into my HW2.0 Car

I am also a bit curious by this. Im assuming the main reason is to gain sensory mode and maybe a more polished version of autopilot or enhanced autopilot. Although. Some people have been speculating that MCU1 is incompatible with HW3 or at least a work in progress. Im still a little confused as...

    Salvage Car Owners Support Group.

I am considering purchasing a crashed Model S. But, wanted to know more about part prices before I jump. Based on what I've read. It seems that buying parts from Tesla is cheaper (at least for some parts). Then buying used parts from ebay or junk yards. I am basically going to need a radiator...

Electrify America charging station, 440 N. Euclid St, Anaheim

I would caution everyone to slow down. I will keep going and seeing how the work is progressing. Honestly, the location where these are being built invites lots of icing. It would be ideal if Tesla where to build thse on the back parking lot by loara street. Tesla needs more superchargers in...

Electrify America charging station, 440 N. Euclid St, Anaheim

I did some reconocense and took some pictures of the layout and equipment. I did not see any superchargers, but did see lots of ABB units "more then 6" and the basic layout for them. I do not know the normal size of electricity America stalls. I also do not see Tesla listing this site on their...

Standard Range Model 3 net purchase price in California

Well that's simple. For one Tesla will probably allow owners join their ride sharing network as long as they have the correct hardware. Without having to purchase FSD or Autopilot. I will probably get autopilot at some point in the future or when they are having a end of the quarter "promotion"...

I thought that "Tesla glass" was suppose to be virtually indestructible. Is that only for the Tesla Semi?

Standard Range Model 3 net purchase price in California

Sorry if this question has been posted before. I'm thinking of finally pulling the trigger now that HW 3 is in production, Tesla is launching the Tesla network next year, improved build quality and Tesla is "selling" the "standard range" Model 3. Given the upgraded interior and battery buffer...

    Supercharging for Salvage Tesla

With all do respect. Tesla's do have sensors and algorithms to detect issues in the high voltage system. If a fault does exist, then the car will likely through a code and not allow the contactors to close, charge or otherwise drive the car. If a issue existed and made itself known during a...

What to know when buying a salvage Tesla?

I have been curious about supercharging in cars that don't have unlimited supercharging. You can obviously reactivate it if you gain root access. But, how would you pay for supercharging and would that send a flag to Tesla? This only a problem for cars made after 2017 and (if I remember...

Used S85's starting to drop in to the mid $20Ks....

You know the crazy thing is that Tesla has in the past sold Model S with much lower miles for much less then many of these listings. I watched rich's rebuild's video about the issues with the CPO program, but even so I can't imagine the cars listed being in any better shape. Already in salvage...

Used S85's starting to drop in to the mid $20Ks....

Of course value is always subjective. But, we must consider what people are asking for use Tesla's on craigslist and autotrader. Most people are pricing their "classic" Tesla's for 30k with about 100,000 miles and some are asking 25,000 for cars in poor condition or with high mileage. The...

True, but the Standard plus is available and represents the best value of any new or used Tesla in the market.
  20. JoRey

Used S85's starting to drop in to the mid $20Ks....

What are the value of "classic" Model S now? Considering the Tesla has been seeling CPO's with autopilot for 32-36k with 80,000 miles or less. It seems to me that prices that private sellers and dealers are asking are unrealistic considering that "base" Model 3 is still available.

Does Tesla's parts and service policies violate state and federal consumer protection laws?

Non Tesla EV charging at supercharger?

The problem here really is Tesla. Chargepoint for example has in the past expressed interest in making a charger that has all three standards Tesla, CCS and chadamo and capabilities for up to 400kw. Chargepoint has even in the past used a Tesla plug and was asked by Tesla to have the prototype...

Non Tesla EV charging at supercharger?

Honestly, Tesla had the chance to set the Tesla plug as the standard for DC fast charging in north america if they just made it a open source standard like CCS. I do not get individuals ambivalence towards the supposed individual that somehow manged to to get his e-golf to "supercharge". If he...

Electrify America charging station, 440 N. Euclid St, Anaheim

There is a good chance this will be one of the first superchargers to have V3 supercharging stalls in SoCal. No reason to install the old hardware on a project that has not even broken ground yet.

Would AP2 ever support the DashCam feature

I do not understand everyone's animosity. Simply put Tesla made a commitment to sell a car with a full self driving option, not a feature that was just recently introduced. Diesel Parking Heater

Diesel is not like gasoline and is in fact very difficult to ignite. (It will not ignite even when exposed to a open flame or spark) Think of vegetable oil. That said placing the tank by the firewall should be a relatively safe since that is not part of the crumple zone.
  30. JoRey

    Diesel Parking Heater

Yes, that would only require a coolant heat exchanger and some type of pump. That would also have the added benefit of also heating the pack as well as the cabin. But, with this device/setup you would basically be pumping hot air into the inlet of the car's hvac system.

    Diesel Parking Heater

After being stuck in on the 38 highway for over 5 hours in a snow storm. Moving only a couple of feet every hour due to trucks constantly getting stuck on the icy roads. I began thinking of the energy consumption a electric restive heater has on the range of a EV. it seams ridiculous that Tesla...

Would AP2 ever support the DashCam feature

I wonder how many modules, parts and harnesses would be required to turn a classic or autopilot 1 car into a autopilot 2.0 car. Assuming you have a donor and the ability to reprogram the various modules. Someone such as rich rebuild could in theory do it, but you would have to strip the car to...

Tesla needs to refresh the Model S, asap.

I wonder how much the driving dynamics could improve if Tesla made a 100kwh pack with the new 2070 cells? I mean the Model S is a bit of a energy hog and updating the electric motors could yield significant efficiency gains.
  34. JoRey

Tesla needs to refresh the Model S, asap.

I do not understand why everyone is saying they need to update the interior. While i agree they need to seriously make the interior feel more premium and make it quieter. Making the interior like the Model 3 would be a huge mistake, especially compared to the current interface of the model s.
  35. JoRey

Tesla needs to refresh the Model S, asap.

It is not unprecedented for a car model to be in production for a long time. The Tacoma, Beetle, New Beetle and XC90 weren't refreshed for ten years. I would not expect a new generation until at least 2020 or maybe 2022. For sure Tesla will have to upgrade the Model S with the new cell, beef up...

    Model S depreciation

This is very subjective and really does depend where you live. Living in socal, sandiego is only a 1.5 hour drive away, las vegas is three hours away and San Francisco is relatively close. A flight takes two hours and a round trip can be done in a day; not to mention that airplanes tickets have...

    Model S depreciation

Not really since in theory Tesla would still be the one selling the car. They would be simply be posting and increasing the potential pool of customers. Competing against owners and dealers. Trust me. I wish I could barter with Tesla and get a better price on a car.
  39. JoRey

    Model S depreciation

The only conclusion I can come up with is simple ignorance from consumers who do not know the prices tesla is selling their CPO models. Prices will remain high as long as people keep buying the cars for that price and I expect prices to crash soon. It would help immensely and have a immediate...

    Model S depreciation

Unable to test drive before purchase seem like a serious oversight from Tesla and they will overtime be forced to change it. But, I would imagine that you could easily persuade Tesla to let you test drive the car. You also have to remember that good deals go fast and a deposit guaranties that...

    Model S depreciation

Tesla was refurbishing all their used models. This was at significant cost to Tesla and created a bottle neck. Tesla should certainly have the cars detailed and replace minor parts before being offered for sell. Ultimately by ending that policy they could sell more cars for less money.
  42. JoRey

    Model S depreciation

Do you really expect any different from private sellers and especially dealers (who buy their inventory from auctions) to be any different? Tesla has sent me pictures in a prompt fashion each time i've requested them and they show damage. Not to mention that a used car is expected to have...

    Model S depreciation

I have been keeping tabs on the prices of used Model S. It has been my observation that there seems to be a disconnect in the price of used Model s and the price of a CPO model s. I have observed that as of late Tesla has been pricing their CPO cars more competitively then used car dealer and...

Realistic sale price 2017 Model 3? 17k miles

I've been keeping a eye on used Tesla's on craigslist and various websites. The going rate for a Model 3 with autopilot and FSD should be between 45-50k. The lowest price ive seen is 40k for a base bare bones Model 3. Post it on craigslist for 50k and see what your local market offers.

Tesla Pickup Moves Up the Company’s ‘Resource Priority’ List

I sincerely hope that Tesla does not make the mistake of making the Tesla Pickup the size of a F650. Doing so would cater to a smaller market (only companies) and not the core of the truck market. Ford sellers nearly 1 million f150 trucks a year and that's not including gm or dodge.

Tesla Pickup Moves Up the Company’s ‘Resource Priority’ List

I am keeping my eye on the Tesla truck. I look forward to what Tesla will put forward and hope they make a simple utilitarian truck. City of Anaheim public EV charging station rebate program

I beg to differ. Anaheim Public Utilities has a baseline rate that is very cheap, but it's only for the first 300Kwh a month. They also bundle lots of other fees such as waste collection, street sweeping, ect. My latest electric bill was 232 dollars for 800Kwh or .29 cents a Kwh. The price per...
